Emerald, a Jewel in the Mediterranean.
Advantages: Excellent value at the price.
Disadvantages: Few trimmings
...Never have I had such a miserable start to a holiday. It was just over a year ago, and I was feeling jaded and tired when I saw on the internet a cutprice Thomson cruise holiday in the Mediterranean. I had no hesitation in booking at once. Later, I got the brochure which confirmed my opinion that the twelve day holiday on the cruise ship Emerald was going to be somewhat downmarket, but at the price I didn?t mind that. It was costing me only Ł729, all inclusive. If that sounds a lot, ask yourself where you could find an all-inclusive hotel for that price.
I had to join the Emerald at Palma, Majorca, and the journey was dreadful. The charter flight to Palma had been scheduled for mid-morning, giving me time to get to Gatwick from my home in Oxfordshire, but almost at the last minute it was changed to 05.45, and I felt I could not ask...

Mediterranean cuisine in Wales
Advantages: petit picturesque location, good turkish food, friendly accommodating staff, cheap prices
Disadvantages: not many...only one..in S. Wales?
...During my recent travels to the beautiful Welsh coastline I came across this delightful Turkish restaurant called "Mediterranean" in the petit Victorian town of Mumbles*.
There are a variety of restaurants in Mumbles from fine French, English, Italian and Indian but this is apparently the only Turkish restaurant in South Wales. Meditteranean is a fairly new restaurant in Mumbles has only been open for approx. 10 months.
We found this restaurant on a freezing Winters night after finishing the infamous “Mumbles Mile” round of the pubs.....
We wondered if we’d get a complete meal at this late time (after 10.30p.m) in such a small town. We then stumbled across this Turkish restaurant called Mediterranean, which looked warm and cosy with dim lit candles. I thought they maybe closed as there appeared to be cleaning...

A taste of the Mediterranean from your own home
Advantages: Chunky chicken; lovely creamy sauce; juicy peppers
Disadvantages: I froze it when I shouldn't have but no harm done!
...I love Asda's range of 'fresh tastes' prepared chickens variations (NB - The used to be called 'GO COOK'). There are a huge range; my other favourite is the mago chicken but you can get chicken en croute; chicken in lime/ barbeacue/ orange' thighs etc... In each tin foiled tray you get two chicken breasts. This serves 2 people but my step-dad eats a pack to himself...men!
I chose 'Asda Fresh Tastes Mediterranean chicken breasts' because they had everything I love wth chicken (i.e. Cheese, peppers and onions). The product description sounded appealing - '2 chicken breasts with peppers and red onion in a rich tomato sauce, topped with feta cheese'. I've never tried feta cheese but there only seemed to be a few cubes of it as I pulled off the cardboard sleeve to peer into the contents of the container. I figured I could scrape it off if...

The Birds of Europe - Lars Jonson
Advantages: Fantastic Drawings, Very Detailed Information On Every Species
Disadvantages: Quite Expensive
...I have had an interest in Wildlife for as long as I can remember and in particular I have always had a passion for Birds. My Garden is full of Bird feeding devices and I have spent many enjoyable hours at my window watching the Birds feeding there.
Any serious Birdwatcher will possess a Field Guide and over the years, since my early teens I have always used the Collin's Guide to the Birds of Britain and Europe. A couple of years ago I decided that it was time that I updated my reference guide for something a little bit more modern. The book I chose was the Birds of Europe by Lars Jonson.
Lars Jonson is a very well known name in the world of Ornithology. Born in Sweden Lars Jonson is best known as a Bird Artist and has won many prestigious awards. He had an exhibit at the National Museum of Natural History in Stockholm when he was...

Eating crisps the mediterranean way
Advantages: Nice taste. Nice price. Nice smell.
Disadvantages: The calories.
...Those of you who have known me for a while will know how much I love my crisps! And if there's anything new that comes out on the market, I'm the first to try them!
So, when I recently spotted that Walkers had brought out some Mediterranean style crisps, I whipped them up - and fast! Today I'm going to tell you about the Tomato and Basil flavour.
The crisps come in the usual foil wrapper. I paid Ł0.30p for a 34.5g bag. The bag is a warm orange colour - not bright orange, more of a pastel orange. The Walkers logo is on the front with a pretty picture of a clear blue ocean and a tree, with a couple of crisps on the side stuck in for good measure.
On the back of the packet are the ingredients, nutritional information and contact details etc.
On opening the packet, the aroma of the crisps are really nice. The smell isn...

Goodfella's True Mediterranean Pizza
Advantages: Great taste, Cheap, Easy to cook
Disadvantages: Not the most healthy pizza
..."Thin Italian-style stone-baked pizza base, spread with a rich sun-dried tomato and basil sauce, melting creamy mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Piled with juicy chargrilled chunks of courgette, aubergine and red & yellow peppers, then smothered with a provencale herb butter to finish."
Now how does that make you feel? Me personally, it puts me in the mood for a pizza. However not just any plain old pizza it puts me in the mood for a Goodfellas Delicia Mediterranean Pizza. I expect it makes you feel the same way too.
Now apart from that, what makes you want to but one of these pizzas? What makes it stand out from the rest? Well to be perfectly honest not a lot. However it is still one of the best Mediterranean pizzas that you can buy from your local supermarket, and I will tell you why.
The price is a big factor that influences...

Kettle Mediterranean - Take a crunch in the med
Advantages: Pure, very tasty and crunchy.
Disadvantages: not available in all supermarkets
...I tried Kettle chips mediterranean out of curiosity as I am a kettle chips lover and I found them great.
* APPEARANCE AND PACKAGING *
Kettle chips Mediterranean come in an orange foil fresh crisp packet with the usual famous Kettle chips wrote on the front in black text and also saying mediterranean and their flavour which is Feta cheese and olive. They are easy to pick out if you see them in a limited Tesco or Waitrose store as they are not widely available.
* ABOUT KETTLE CHIPS MEDITERRANEAN AND TASTE *
Like the other Kettle Chips the main features are as follows:
* They are hand cut and cooked to perfection
* They are cooked in pure olive oil
* They are 100% natural ingredients

The main difference between kettle med and the ordinary versions is that they have been hand fried in...

Tom Tom ONE XL Europe
Advantages: Large Screen, easy to follow, clear display
Disadvantages: battery life
...The Tom Tom ONE XL Europe is one of the easiest car navigation devices to use. It is mostly self explainatry but if you are unsure how to use it, the manual is very specific and very easy to understand. In my opinion the actual software that is installed on it is excellent. When driving, it is easy to follow all of the instruction that are being said by the automated voice. The one concern with this product is the very short battery life and sometimes, when it has been previously been connected to the computer to install updates, the system gets stuck and freezes. It has to be reset for it to function properly again and then it takes up to ten minutes!! There are many options that you can choose when planning your route so you drive the route that is most suitable for you. Other than the one disadvantage, it is a very good car navigation...

Jacobs Mediterranean Crackers
Advantages: More flavour, not so dry
Disadvantages: Have a little more fat
...I usually buy non-flavoured crackers from Jacobs to go with cheese or simply to eat them alone.
When I first saw Jacob´s Mediterranean Cracker selection I simply had to try it because it was new and it has different flavours. I eat all kinds of crackers to nearly all meals of the day if I feel like it - or as a snack in between. So I couldn´t miss these out.
You can´t really miss the package as it is coloured in yellow - typical for Jacob´s - and additional in red and green. And it is a karton-box.
The colours go with the ingredients in the crackers.
Let´s have a look at it.
If you open the box you have 6 smaller packages, each has 4 crackers.
***************
2 x Pesto taste
The taste of Pesto in those is not very strong but the smell is definitely pesto. I rather eat the other ones. The pesto ones go very well...

TomTom Europe 22
Advantages: It's a TomTom. Easy to use. Does what it's made to do. Good value.
Disadvantages: None.
...I recently purchased the new TomTom Europe 22 from Halfords. I was originally going to buy the V3 of the TomTom Europe as the price is genuinley lower than the new one is. I'll get to that now. I actually, did, buy the V3 model first. When I did and went to set it up in the car I noticed the windscreen suction piece wasn't in the box and to top that, the actual sat nav seemed 2nd hand. Scratches - deep scratches - all over the sat nav. So I boxed it all back up and went back into Halfords. Served by the same person - baring in mind, it's the assistant manager. I told her the situation and that I wasn't pleased. She said, "I must of forgotten to tell you the sat nav I sold you was originally a display model". Which I don't believe as I doubt a display model would have scratches all over it as it's stuck behind glass. She explained to me...
