Magin8tive
Advantages: Good articles, decent cover CD
Disadvantages: No letters section, no product reviews
...After recent bad experiences with other dance music magazines I decided to give M8 a try. I’d purchased this magazine a few times before, but never on a regular basis. It’s a Scottish based magazine, which gives a slightly different view of the current dance scene. It tries to cover all genres of dance, and even covered indie in its earlier days until they gladly ditched it. It follows a similar format to its competition with sections for recent happenings in the industry, articles, a tunes section, club reviews and the usual collection of ads.
First impressions are favourable, although you have to plough through several pages of advertisements just to get to the contents page. Then you have to go through some more! It’s a habit these magazines have created and I can’t say I appreciate it very much...

GOOD BUDGET PRICE PC!!!
Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: A DVD Writer wouldn't have goe amiss
...performance games, I would say an upgrade would be a must.
INTERFACE:
8 x USB (4 front + 4 back) For a low end price PC I did think was quite impressive and most budget range PC's only tend to have 4 or 6 USB ports at most.
1 x Parallel printer port. (does anyone still use these??)
1 x Serial port
1 x Line in audio 3.5mm
1 x Line out audio 3.5mm
1 x Ethernet (LAN) port
OPERATING SYSTEM:
Windows XP SP2:
I was somewhat surprised that the machine is supplied with XP and not Vista. However, again I presume that this is cost driven. Also as I understand it, Vista is a very hungry resources swallower and maybe not as well suited to the spec the PC. On the plus side XP is a proven and stable operating system with all the bugs ironed out.
SOFTWARE:
Not much I'm afraid. The PC is supplied with NTI-CD maker and Adobe reader. NTI -CD maker...

Great little player
Advantages: Battery life, Features, Price, Size
Disadvantages: Screen is small
...I have owned an Meizu M3 for about 2 years now, and I have to say it has suited me perfectly. It is very minimalistic in design and is small enough to fit in one of those very small pockets of a pair of jeans, very similar to an ipod nano.
The functionality of the player is like an ipod nano on steroids. It can do everything that the nano can and a whole lot more. Such as: Play videos, Read text files, Listen to the radio, record sound, and much more.
The screen is very small and I'm not completely sure if there is any point in having any videos on the player, however its still a pretty cool feature. The battery life of the player exceeds any I have ever seen before and only requires a quick recharge via usb once or twice a week (from moderate usage).
The price is very reasonable for the capacity of the player, and you would...

iPod alternative
Advantages: Big clear screen, sounds excellent, supports movies, photos, music, text, games
Disadvantages: Unoriginal design
...Meizu Mini Player 1GB
The Meizu Mini Player is the latest addition to the flash based mp3 player market. It's competing against offerings from Apple, Creative and Sony but how does the Meizu fair against the competition. Well pretty good infact. The player comes in 4 different sizes, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and you can get the player in two different colours, black or white. The design of the play is heavily influenced by the iPod but because of this the player looks very stylish.
The player has a very large QVGA TFT LCD screen which is excellent and looks smashing. You can view videos, play music, view photos and also read text documents on the player. The screen is 2.4 inches and takes up most of the players size but this is good because it allows for a large viewing area although if you tilt the player to the side slightly...

Coffee M8 !
Advantages: Easy to use, turns instant coffee into luxury drinks, easy to clean, low price point, value for money
Disadvantages: *
...M&S !
Just follow the simple instructions that are included and make sure you also clean the machine using the enclosed procedures every time you use the machine. Mine also had a voucher enclosed, which i could send off to receive a free pair of cappuccino cups and saucers.
I felt like a proper barista as the steam heated through and produced that satisfying 'gushing' noise
Well worth the money, and at a price of around £65 it wont break the bank. Think of all that money you could save. Watch out Starbucks !!...

KaZaa without the bagage?
Advantages: No spyware or adware.
Disadvantages: Illegal, no online help.
...What is it?
KaZaa M8, just like KaZaa Media Desktop, is a peer to peer file sharing application. It is compatible with KaZaa, indeed, you are connecting to the KaZaa network when you use KaZaa M8.
So what's the difference?
KaZaa M8 is a modified version of the official KaZaa Media Desktop. The primary differences is that KaZaa M8 guarentees no extra applications, no adware or spyware.
On this, it delivers. There are no extra applications installed, no anti-virus, no anti-popup applications, and so far there seem to be no ad's in the program itself. This is good.
For what it's worth, KaZaa do now seem to have a "No Spyware" policy on their official version of KMD, whether it's true or not I guess we can't tell without some reverse engineering. They do still bundle 3rd party applications though that they are trying...

More features than an iPod for under £30???
Advantages: Long battery life, plays videos, wide range of audio formats, great screen, all for £29
Disadvantages: Doesn't support M4A.
...INTRODUCTION:
I got my M6 from a friend who visited China. She paid just £29 for it (current conversion rates). She managed to buy it just before Meizu increased the price nationwide by about £10.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
I received the M6 in its own personalized bag with some writing in chinese and a picture of it on the front. I got it out of the bag and found, of course, for the packaging to be just like the iPod's, as is alomst everything to do with this player. I turned it on and found that all the menus were in chinese. To fix this I went to a very good fansite where there were instructions on how to change the language, the site will be mentioned at the end of the review. When I turned it on and went to look round the menu, I noticed that there were some sample songs, included free! Only two were titled in english and they were...

Budget accomodation gem
Advantages: Location, Price, parking
Disadvantages: Breakfast
...hotel and here's why. Charing cross is not far from the end of the famous sauchiehall (Soggy hall) street which is the Glasgow equivalent of oxford street. This means that you are within 5 mins walking distance of the very center of glasgow.
In addtion to this the location means that from a transport perspective you are also very well siutated with easy access to the M8, the charing cross train station right next door and glasgow airport just a few miles away. If travelling by car there is a multistorey car park which only charges you £1 for over night parking which can be far more if you stay in one of the other city hotels.
TOP TIPS
Don't eat the breakfast
Ask for a room higher up in the building as if you get a room on the wrong side and low down you can hear the train announcment until late at night.
Don't eat at the hotel...
