Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Melanie Brown - LA State Of Mind*****

Advantages: Its the most summery album of the year yet!
Disadvantages: People will be funny about it cos she was a Spice Girl!

Anyone would think Melanie were in love...

Advantages: Another quality album from Ms Chisholm
Disadvantages: Too different from her debut Northern Star

...Melanie C: former Spice Girl ? a much criticised and rare species. The Ex-Sporty Spice has made successful in-roads on a long term solo career. Reason is the follow up to her triple platinum debut ?Northern Star? which spawned 5 singles, two of which reached number one, one featuring the late Lisa ?Left Eye" Lopes. Melanie tried a range of diverse sounds on her debut: Rock, R&B, Pop & Dance. Sadly the follow up doesn?t explore the same routes. Reason, when released in early 2003 was highly anticipated. The lead off single ?Here It Comes Again? being a good example of what to expect. As mentioned this album is in no way as diverse as Northern Star. There are a couple of rocky tracks; a few acoustic ballads and some 100% pop gems, there are no R&B or Dance tracks. This is a shame as Melanie could have picked up where she left off three...

Melanie Bs album HOT is very HOT

Advantages: A fabalous album, the thing I love about the Spice Girls is that all the solo projects are sooo different from each other!
Disadvantages: NONE

...Mel B aka Scary Spice has always been in my opinion the most interesting Spice Girls. I think that wild exterior is just an act; very few people get to know the real Melanie Brown. When I heard her first single away from the group I wasn’t disappointed! The Missy Elliott collaboration 'I Want You Back' was a cool, slinky number with a great video to go with the staccato beats and sultry lyrics; it was just a great single. ‘Hot’ is unashamedly an R&B/Pop album, sounding very similar to the likes of Destiny’s Child, Alliyah, TLC and all of those other great American R&B/Pop acts. Well when considering the people which Scary collaborated with on ‘Hot’ it’s not surprising really; Fred Jerkings, Sisqo, Teddy Riley and Jam Lewis all had an input. Melanie Rocks!!!!!!!!!

Advantages: Up close and you get to see it all
Disadvantages: Just not long enough

...Melanie C kicked off her new solo tour in Derby last night with the ist track from her album - "GO" and i was there to witness it. She was totally hot! Unfortunately she broke her foot this week but that didn't stop her going wild. She did all the tracks from the album plus a few even i didn't know. Of course a lot of people only knew the hits and they really showed it. The place went wild when she did Northern Star. I think there was a little lull when she did the slow tracks, i never realised b4 how many slow songs there are on the album. My fave song was "GOing Down" it just contained so much energy. Melanie was on for just over an hour and a half. She came on with "Turn to you" as an encore of course that is what everyone was waiting for. If there are any tickets left, i suggest you get along to one of the gigs country...

...A friend of mine, knowing I?m a ?Doctor Who? fan, recommended this to me as being very funny. Indeed, it?s kind of funny that there is even the option to buy a book such as this. The return of ?Doctor Who? has suddenly made it the kind of program that a man in his 30s can admit to liking. In years past, I would never have considered buying a book like this, as I would never have wanted anyone knowing I watched ?Doctor Who?, much less enjoyed it. That is essentially Nick Griffiths? reasoning behind writing this book. Until the return of the series around three years ago, being a ?Doctor Who? fan was something you kept quiet; for fear that people would think you a nerd. Before then, a ?Doctor Who? fan was someone who hung around ?Outpost Gallifrey? and wrote fan fiction and the description would possibly have fitted relatively well...

As well as writing these stories she also illustrates them and has worked with other authors such as Sharon Jennings and Margaret Carney. These books feature a cute squirrel who is a little bit wary of the outside world but learns that taking chances are sometimes good. ***The Story*** "Scaredy Squirrel never leaves his nut tree. He'd rather stay in his safe and familiar tree than risk venturing out into the unknown. The unknown can be a scary place for a squirrel." The book goes on to tell us that the squirrel is frightened of many things. Some are sensible fears like poison ivy and germs but others are a little bit silly like green Martians and killer bees.
