Marvellous Melbourne

Advantages: The Most Liveable City in the World
Disadvantages: A long way away from practically everywhere else!

...in Melbourne to appreciate it properly, because there is so much to see, so many nooks & crannies to explore, and so much to do, that the casual visitor will invariably leave feeling they've left things out. ACCOMODATION: The beautiful 5-star Hotel Windsor, which is housed in a Victorian monolith opposite the State Parliament in the city centre, is probably Melbourne's loveliest hotel. Let's Kill some Floor!

...Wizz floor cleaner We have lots of wooden floors in our house and although they are not laminate, i tend to try use this stuff or similar because bleach is too harsh and I like a nice fresh rather than bleach smell. WHAT IS IT? This product has apparently been specially formulated to effectively clean most types of sealed wood flooring ( so not just for laminate) and it promises to remove grease and grime with no need for rinsing afterwards. PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... The floor cleaner comes in a plastic bottle containing 1litre of the product. Review of Wizz Laminate Wood Floor Cleaner

Floored

Advantages: easy to wipe clean, better for asthmatic children and more hygienic than carpet
Disadvantages: shows dirt quicker than carpet and can be noisier

...My friend has recently installed a new laminate floor. He did all the work himself, it only took him two days and was a third of the cost of a carpet. I thought of many reasons for him not to do it:- 1. The room would seem colder 2. It would scratch easily as they have 3 kids and a dog 3. It would start to lift if anything was spilled 4. It would not be comfortable to sit on. 5. It would be noisy 6. It would be harder to keep looking clean 7. There would be a lot of work involved Four weeks later I take it all back. The room doesn't feel colder at all, in fact the rich colour of the wood makes it look warmer. One of his sons is always rolling around on the floor with cars but they don't scratch the surface and neither does the dog. The surface is tougher than I expected. Any spills are easily wiped up...

Review of B&Q Flooring

A tour of Melbourne ... by food

Advantages: Slower pace ... most livable city
Disadvantages: At the other end of the world

...and the numerous street cafes, all along Swanston and Elizabeth streets. There are many sushi places on Swanston street. Another favourite (of mine), is the Southbank. The ground floor is (again) a food court (make it food heaven) and on Sundays, I believe you are encouraged to sit down to play a game of chess. It is so relaxing, sitting by the river, enjoying a coffee or a tea, munching on my chicken schnitzel sandwich, reading my book, the sun above me ...ahhhh This is an incomplete guide to my visit of Melbourne. There is so much more to see and taste. I think I will have to do another op on Melbourne (soon). Hope you enjoy this short introduction. laminate flooring

...Having just replaced our conservatory (the old structure was ancient and wood rotten) we decided to do something about the uneven concrete floor. Should we tile it with some flagstones? Should we put a wooden floor down? Should we put lino down? Well what we did was research all the flooring we could put down .We considered the price, the durability of surfaces, the ease of laying floor could we do it ourselves, or did we need to hire someone to do it for us/ Well what we decided was to lay laminate flooring we looked in a flooring shop couldn?t find what we wanted and then went to B&Q . B&Q had a fairly good range and we bought Floor master tile L O C in a sort of terracotta stone colour. The first thing you notice when you arrive in Melbourne is when you're flying over it in a plane all the streets are like in New York - all criss-cross, so it's easy to find your way around. So after collecting your bags, you jump in to a taxi and go to your hotel. May I reccommend you stay at the Rockman's Regency - it's 'One of the best Hotels in the World.' The food is fantastic, but you can also rent a flat for a week in the building on a self-cooking basis. I must point out that the flats are very nice, and that supermarkets are available near to the apartments. People are very welcoming and charming, and you'll find a lot to do.
