...My partner and i were recently in london for the weekend so i looked up expedia to see which hotels we could stay in and i decided on the melia white house as i thought it looked nice and was in a medium price range. The hotel is conveniently located as it is only about 3-5 minutes walk from the great portland street tube station which means that it is easy to get to other parts of london from the hotel. Also it is not far from regents park and london zoo is a 30 minute walk. We also walked to the camden market as it was only about 10-15 minutes walk from london zoo. We also found that the hotel was easy to get to from heathrow airport as you can take the tube and you 0only have to make one change of tube line. When we arrived at the hotel it looked exactly like it did on the website with the reception area looking grand...

...has its own coral reef, aproximatly 1 km out from the shore, this can be reached by boat. Sunloungers and Parasols were all free of charge. You could also borrow snorkling equiptment, canoes and windsurfing equiptment at the small beach hut run by the hotel. When it came to meals I am quite a fussy girl, but I was pleasently surprised by the range of food on offer at the Melia Cayo Coco. For breakfast and evening meal, you would pop down to the buffet style restuarant, or you could reserve a table at either the A la carte or Itallian resturant (one reservation per week), my recommendation would have to go to the Beach BBQ/Grill Hut near the beach, the swordfish was amazing, although bear in mind if you are going to eat there early evening, remember the mozzie spray! The hotel is located on the Paseo Maritimo in Palma and has excellent views over the marina and Bay of Palma and is about a 20 minute stroll to the centre of Palma. Ideal for visiting the bars and restuarants of the old town at night and the beautiful city of Palma during the day. There is also a good range of bars, cafes etc along the Paseo Maritimo if the 20 minute walk is an issue. The facilities were good especially the pool area which was spotless, had plenty of space and the best pool bar staff I've met in a long time. ...I stayed at the Melia White House hotel in June 2008, on my first trip to London. Finding our way from Heathrow T5 to the hotel, negotiating the underground, was surprisingly easy, as the hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk of Great Portland St underground station, just outside leafy Regents Park. Warren St and Regents Park underground stations are also within 10 minutes walk in either direction. The hotel may not look a lot from the exterior, however step inside and the reception is bright, airy and spacious. The reception area is immaculate and covered in marble, and expensive looking antiques. The hotel has 581 rooms over 8 floors (283 Classic rooms, 158 Superior rooms, 28 Triple rooms, 62 Executive Level rooms, 42 Junior Suites, 2 Master Suites, 1 Residential Suite and 5 Disabled rooms). .... However not all the machines were working, there was no towels, no TVs and no supervision or keys necessary which meant young brats could use it as a playground. I foresee either a change of policy or a disappearance of this facility. The problem with this hotel is definitely that it is largely geared for Melia’s own customers, which means they have created a Spanish-speaking oasis in the middle of London. If you do not speak Spanish (I do but refused to use it!)…..you may have a problem. As I left the bell-boy’s English was so garbled the taxi-driver I used didn’t understand him. Shame as he was genuinely helpful and trying to please but language, language!! I paid less than £90 through lastminute.com so I have to admit that at that price, overall, I thought it was excellent value for money. Not contradicting...
