Member Advice On Budgies

Advantages: In Opinion
Disadvantages: In Opinion

...I have now had my budgie for over a month now. My sister received the 9 week year old budgie as a birthday present complete with a cage and equipment. She was happy to receive the budgie. Taking care of a budgie is not that difficult as you think. The first few weeks are quite difficult. In this opinion I will give members advice on looking after budgies. °Brief History° ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I do not now that much about budgies but from my knowledge I think budgies were found and originally came from Australia while they were living in flocks and searching for food. The common name for a budgie is "Budgerigar" I am not sure what the actual scientific name is. It is long indeed. Today budgies are found in a vast number of colours, the one we have got is a green and yellow budgie. The general one. ºColoursº ^^^^^^^^ The colours...

Member Advice on Ciao Addiction.

Advantages: Strange challenges get to me
Disadvantages: None

...and you have to "want" to get better, as in smoking and other addictions, plus you have to actually get to the stage where you admit your addiction. The best medicine is a hot toddy, because it relaxes the brain and lets you chill a little. Onother known medicine for this type of addiction is rabbit interferon. What this involves is letting your rabbit get near to the telephone line and chew until the problem goes away. REALITY CHECK TREATMENT So, we admit we have an addiction, but admitting it, and doing nothing about it is destructive. We believe everything we read, we weep when things are sad, laugh when things are joyous, but we carry on trawling through guestbooks, amazed at new members that tell us things that new members could not possibly know, and going back into life thinking about friends that we have online and how we...

Member Advice on Pet Death

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: loss of a loved one

...grieving process you would encounter if a family member passed away. I took the decision that I couldn't let her go completely and had her body collected by a local Pet Cemetery and decided to have her cremated and bring her home for her last journey with us. For part of my grieving process I scouted all the Garden Centres for a rose which would sum my Holly up and for me to look out on and have her close at my side like she had been for those 8 years. One of the things I find hard to understand is the opinion of others who have not had the joy of a dog in their lives. They see you break down and their words of "it's only a dog" stick in your mind, they just do not understand that it isn't just a dog, it is a friend, a companion, a loved one a large part of your life, a friend you share each day and night with and who keeps you company...

Ciao - Advice to Help You Get Started

Advantages: hopefully it will give you a good idea about site etiquette
Disadvantages: you don't have to take advice given here or anywhere else on the site or do you?

...that have received good ratings as these will give me an idea of what sort of information the average reader would want to see in a review about a laptop. Of course you can't please everyone - what I consider to be useful advice in a review, others might not want to see all that info - you should really expect to see a range of different ratings on reviews as what's important and helpful to one person might be completely irrelevant to another. I would also add here that just because you find a review exceptionally well written, don?t assume others should find it the same. It might be exceptional to you but just VH or even H to others. There is no perfect review and I really don?t like it when I see comments by new or seasoned members (not so much here but I?ve seen on other sites) saying things like ?I can?t believe someone gave you just...

Swine Flu Advice

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything

...Now you will probably here a lot of stories in the news about the widespread outbreak of Swine Flu also known as the influenza A virus subtype H1N1, which has caused mass media hysteria for some months now. Now many people may have or may be in the process of writing a review about Swine Flu, but for me i feel as if i should be compelled to write a review, because i am currently at the end cycle of suffering from swine flu, something which i have been suffering for nearly two weeks now. I hope to provide as much information as physically possible, as well as share my experiences regarding the flu. Why? Well because i no just how powerful this nasty flu can be, and my aim is to try and help people currently suffering from it, to try and give some advice and what people should do, and perhaps just make people more aware of what symptoms...

Advice on Running.

Advantages: Keeps you fit, you feel much more healthy and positive
Disadvantages: Can cause painful muscles and joints

...Running I thought I'd offer my own insight and advice on running, seeing as I've just taken it up myself in the past few months. I'll say first that I absolutly love running - it gets you outside, you get fresh air, and you can stay fit and feel better about yourself afterwards. When To Run I honestly don't know if there is a scientifically proven best time to run. All I can do is offer my own experiences, which are that I find it much easier to run in the afternoons, but also much more peaceful to run in the mornings. If I run in the morning, I'll do it at about 7am. I'll get up, warm up, then go. What's good about this is that everywhere is quiet, and you are running much more freely because you don't have to worry about other people around you. However the problem is that you feel tired, very tired in fact. It's a good way...

My Story and My Advice

Advantages: Finding all about you
Disadvantages: Finding out the truth

...*** Updated 24 October 2008 (see bottom section) *** Just Window Shopping I was browsing the Ciao Café section on Membership Advice this morning (as you do) and I happened to come across reviews about adoption. After reading some of the very personal experiences, I felt compelled to write my story. Quirk of fate Adoption is something, in my view, is a very private, yet public thing; I mean it is literally giving away a person - a member of your family - to a total stranger; even to someone who they may never meet. I've always found this to be strange but one of the most remarkable and bravest things anyone can do. Each adoption has its own unique, often sad, story. This is mine. My Story I was adopted at a very early age. I've had a wonderful, happy childhood, and I would never want to replace my...

There really can't be any advice

Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: everything

...I don't really know why I am writing this, I have wanted to write part of it for a long time. I have written some feelings about it but nobody has ever read them - not even my husband. I must warn anybody that is going to read this I don't know what I am going to write, so if I ramble or upset anyone then I am sorry. The category is 'Member Advice on Coping with Death' but can anybody really give advice on this - I don't think so because everybody handles things differently therefore copes differently. I believe people can only tell how they dealt with it or didn't. I first came across death when I was 8 years old, my Nana had her bed downstairs and my Grandad cooked her meals, I can't remember how long her bed had been downstairs but one day I remember going to visit with my mum after school as we did everyday. My mum had tears...

Advice on Air Travel...from a Flight Attendant!

Advantages: Flying gets you from A to B, hopefully without crashing
Disadvantages: Many!

...not bring your own? On a flight from Geneva I had a nouveau riche type woman shrieking ?Tarquin doesn?t eat cheese, don?t you have any smoked salmon?? Well then love, looks like dear little Tarky won?t be eating then! 11) Know who to complain to. Ranting at a flight attendant about a delay will help no-body. Complain through the correct channels. If you have a complaint on the flight ask to speak to the senior cabin crew member. Be polite, state your points calmly and seek a solution. I personally do not stand for shouting and swearing and will not talk to anyone who insists on doing so. 12) Is there any need to make such a mess? I really do pity our cleaners at having to clean up, think of the poor crew at low-cost airlines having 5 minutes to make the plane look tidy. I?m not asking you to tidy up but is there any need to stick gum...

Hobbies make life enjoyable

Advantages: Fun, Socializing and relaxing
Disadvantages: Some can be dangerous and obsessive

...Hobbies are things people enjoy doing. There are loads of different hobbies. Hobbies make people happy. My Hobbies. For a long time I have like singing so one of my hobbies is Karaoke. Karaoke is a laugh espesically when you feel the rush of adrenilin as people cheer you on. You dont even need to be good at singing to have a go. Its a great socializing occasion and a great night to remember. Dancing is a great way to get fit and enjoy yourself. Just like Karaoke you dont need to be a expert to have a go. You can dance alone or with some one. All you need to do is let your body relax and th music will flow though you. Going to the cinema is a way of seeing a film that you want to see while at the same time socializing with family or friends. You get to watch whatever films you are into on a big screen while being in...
