Reviews of memorex
Memorex the best.
Review of Memorex CD-R 700 MB 24x by
andycharger
Advantages: Good quality recording with excellent results
Disadvantages: None. Perhaps being a brand name makes them more expensive?
...With writeable CD's offering so much choice in today's market, you can afford to be a bit choosy when buying the media you want. Nearly every company that once offered audio tapes now offers a range of recordable CD's. However, it does not stop there.
Most technology companies that make Computer hardware have taken it on themselves to offer recordable CD's too.
But they are all different standards with some more suitable to certain tasks than others.
One of the better writeable CD manufacturers on the market today are Memorex.
Let me tell you about Memorex CD's.
Firstly, they offer an entire range of recordable media. First off are its CD-R's which are "one shot wonders". This means they can be recorded on once only. If it goes wrong during the recording process, the Disc is lost.
Next up are their CD-RW which...

Memorex, oh yes
Review of Memorex CD-R 700 MB 24x by
the_man_from_del_monte
Advantages: Reliable
Disadvantages: I could have brought them cheaper elsewhere
...I was looking for some CDR's to back up my hard drive now its full of important work. I went down to my local computer shop where they stocked a variety of brands. Chocie is important but not when your in a hurry so I decided to pick a brand I was familar with. I have heard of Memorex before and have purchase VHS' from them before and they worked fine. Going on previous expirences of memorex products I thought they would be O.K.
I brought the pack of CDR's for £19.99 for a pack of 25 which I thought was quite reasonable until I was told about online stores doing them for cheaper. The CDR's come on a spindel which is useful to keep the dust off them. Each CDR can hold 700mbs of data and 80 minutes of music. The spidel says that you can record up to 24x speed by my writer only does 4x. The spidel is made of black plastic and is pretty...

Memorex-cellent value 12x CD writer
Review of Memorex CD-RW drive by
MikeWhalley
Advantages: Cheap and comparable to the more expensive Plextor
Disadvantages: Easy CD is maybe not as good as WinOnCD and support is vague
...Are you fed up waiting for that dodgy copy of you mates cd to burn? Tired of watching how slow your pathetic, unbadged, 2 speed cdwriter spits out those copies? Or maybe you're lukcy, and have a 4 speed cdwriter. Maybe even an 8 speed one. Now that's not bad now, is it - what is that, around 10 mins a cd? That's not bad.
Now consider what it would be like to burn cd's in around 6 minutes. Now I'm not trying to be like that serial murderer blokey out of There's Something About Mary - you know, the one who goes on about his idea for the "8 minute abs video", only to be told "What if someone comes out with '7 minute abs'?" - cos I know that you're going to tell me there are faster drive around, before you say it! ;-)
The drive I am writing this opinion about is the Memorex TwelveMaxx 1032. It is a 12 speed CD writer drive, which...

Memorex Trimaxx200 DVD-CDRW
Review of Memorex CD-362E by
Trev1000
Advantages: Well price multi system
Disadvantages: Need a good graphic card with TV output
...Hi all,
I would like to tell you about a fantastic product that really is Plug-&-Play, it's a CD Player - CD read/writer and a DVD Player all rolled into one. The Memorex Trimaxx 200 is a mid range product in the DVD/CD range and although the price may be fairly extravagant for some at a little over £200.00, I believe it was well worth it.The write capabilities are great at 6x because anything other than standard data just won't transfer safely above a 2x speed, and as for read i reckon 24x is more than fast enough for anything the software merchants throw at us, add to that the DVD playing side of things and you can't miss. I've watched quite a few films via this player with no problem whatsoever, and what's more i can watch the film s via my computer if i so desire. the only let down really was that i had to purchase a better...

DVD-Rn't so good
Review of Memorex DVD-R 4.7 GB 8x by
ben-lloyd
Advantages: Jewel case included
Disadvantages: Inconsistent burn success, expensive, not printable
...Memorex have a long history of media production for computers, so it is little surprise to see them releasing writable DVDs in the rapidly-expanding home burning market. Although not one of the brands I would have picked initially by choice, I have bought several more boxes of the DVD+R disks because I found them to be consistently good.
Being one of these people who like to try all the functions of their computer hardware, I was eager to test the -R burning format on my new DVD writer so whilst buying new DVD+R disks, I picked up a set of -Rs to match. Sadly I have not found the DVD-R format to match up to the standard set by the Memorex DVD+Rs and I have had several failed burns. Initially when I purchased these disks, they were £5.99 for 5 jewel-cased disks from WH Smith. At that time DVD media was still relatively expensive so...

An answer to dirty balls
Review of Memorex RF Wireless Optical Mouse MX4350RF - mouse by
andyev
Advantages: Accurate, hassle-free, easy-gliding
Disadvantages: a little difficult to install on XP
..., and this is powered by two (rechargable) AAA batteries, supplied (more about the powering of the unit later).
WHY CORDLESS?
The Memorex mouse works by communicating over RF (radio frequency) with a small receiver which you place in rough proximity. The advantage of RF over (say) infra red is that it is omnidirectional - if you've a big mug of tea between the mouse and the receiver, that's not a problem, it will still work fine. I have fixed my receiver to the back of my desk to save more space, and it's quite happy there.
The main advantage of being cordless is it gives you a lot more freedom of movement on the desk. No more picking the mouse up and moving it back when you've run out of cord. The fact that you don't have to work around the inevitable obstacles on your desk (pens, mugs, packets of cigarrettes etc) will certainly make your...

Searching For Reliable CDR's? Look No Further
Review of Memorex CD-R 700 MB 24x by
The_a_team
Advantages: Blank Cd's, On A Spindle, Diffrent Colour Scheme, Low Cost
Disadvantages: No Jewel Cases,
...Cdr’s are so abundant now-a-day’s. Every time I go into a computer shop I see them covering a shelf in packs of 5, 10, 15,20…. well anything up to 250 I’ve seen. When I need cdr’s I tend to go for packs of 100, but these usually come in 74 mins (650Mb).
But there comes a point in a persons life where 74min cdr’s aren’t enough and you need something special…something like a 80min (700Mb) cdr. Well fear not Memorex have the perfect cdr’s for the job. These are Cd-r's not Cd+r's.
They come in packs of 25, which is great because most cdr’s I use only require the bulk purchased 74min cdr’s. They come on a spindle which reduced the price you have to pay because some other cdr’s that come in jewel cases cost that little bit more. The spindle doesn’t bother me because it allows me to separate the Memorex cdr’s from the other cdr...

Review of Memorex CD-R 700 MB 16x by
luke_001

...I brought this product along time ago, years ago when I first decided that I wanted to record music, files etc. But mostly, I just wanted them for the sake of having them. However, as I started to use the CD-R's, I noticed that they were very useful for the taks that I wanted to perform. So I used them more and more, using them for the tiniest of files. Provided me with hours of swapping CD's with friends.

Burn baby burn !!!
Review of Memorex CD-R 700 MB 8x by
6Hades6
Advantages: Good, cheap
Disadvantages: Nothing
...Hello, dear Ciao community
According to some reports here on the platform and after some collected experience I would like to dare me to the technical category today.
Since I have a burner like many others also and this is always hungry of course I wouldn't like I feed it to withhold you with what.
? buy ?
I was recently market in the saturn again and looked for supplies for my little burner since I always use spare of Memorex and it was convinced for its products I got rich also quite fast.
This was exactly a 50s spindle of Memorex with 700 MB of brutes at a humane price that for what I looked and also needed, don't reach in a considered way and off to the register.
? the spindle ?
This spindle has the form and height of a brute approximately and is completely made of plastic.
The name of the manufacturer and also...

DVD+R Good
Review of Memorex DVD+R 4.7 GB by
ben-lloyd
Advantages: Very reliable, come in a ase
Disadvantages: Not very cheap, slow burn speed, not printale
...Memorex have a long history of media production for computers, so it is little surprise to see them releasing writable DVDs in the rapidly-expanding home burning market. Although not one of the brands I would have picked initially by choice, I have bought several more boxes of these disks and have found them to be consistently good.
When I received a DVD writer for my birthday last year, my wife thoughtfully supplied a spindle of ten Benq DVDs. After successfully creating three coasters (disks that did not burn correctly), it became apparent that my DVD writer was not going to recognise these disks. As with all presents, I really, really wanted to try out my new burner and so I rushed off to WH Smith and bought a box of the only DVD+Rs they had; a box of 5 jewel-cased Memorex disks for the recently reduced price of £5.99. At the time...
