...Well another day and another review, this one is actually on a film that I watched when I was a lot younger. Having an older brother who was always interested in rap and hip hop, we occasionally watched the odd gangster film here and their. This review is on the 1993 film Menace to Society, directed by Allen and Albert Hughes. Now I have many friends who hate these types of films, the argument being it's to violent, degrading, racists and just plain stupid. However, for me these films give a reel understanding of what it must be like on the streets of some of the toughest neighbourhoods in America. DENNIS THE MENACE-WHAT ELSE DO YOU EXPECT?

Advantages: GREAT FOR FANS AND AS AN INTRODUCTION
Disadvantages: ONLY 2 EPISODES

...This DVD is about the old favourite from Beano comic books "Dennis the menace". My husband bought this DVD for my son when he was about 8MTHS old in the hope that he would like it(we all know that Dads usually buy what they want for their children and recapture their youth). I have never really been a fan of this character so was a bit sceptical but we ended up watching it that same day. The picture quality itself was good(I half expected an old cartoon) not exceptional but good. the audio is in stereo and dolby digital and the viewing ratio is 4:3(I usually just watch and let my TV adjust).It is about 45mins long and has 2 episodes on it: BATHNIGHT CLUB: Dennis wants to avoid a bath and has unexpected help from the Ministry of Defence to avoid Dad due to the potential of his smelly socks as a new weapon. Phantom Menace - suffers from plot

drink juice, watch film, be a menace

Advantages: really funny, politically incorrect, no brainer!
Disadvantages: will definately offend some!

...out with each other....so if you have had a "smokey" evening or day this is the film to wack on as background....you really do not need to concerntrate on it! If you watch this film and like it, but don't quite get all the jokes, go out and watch "Menace II Socient", "South Central", "Juice", "Poetic Justice" & "Boyz N the Hood". There are a couple of extras on this film, such as the deleted scenes, again if you have not seen any of the hood movies these extras will not be anywhere near as funny as if you know what they are referencing....the other extra on the film is called "Hood Movie Gumbo" and this sort of breaks down some of references in Don't be a Menace for those of you who are unfamiliar with it. I do enjoy this film as a quick cheap laugh and the extras are good also, you know when you can't be bothered to move...

Review of Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood (Special Edition) (DVD)

...I bought my Night Hawk Menace in December 1999. This ball is getting on a bit now but if you can still find it you may be on to a winner. Around the time I got it the price was around £150 in the UK. I know they are a lot cheaper in the USA but I guess we are being stitched price wise in the UK. Last year I bowled in two leagues at Tolworth "Charrington Bowl" using the Menace. I achieve 196 and 192 averages in these leagues over approx 120 games in each league. This ball reacts well on most lanes. Depending on how the ball is drilled you can achieve very good scores. I achieved my personal best last year. A 758 over 3 games (best game of 279). Since then this ball has lost a bit of it grip. I have resurfaced a couple of times. I still use this ball but it may be time for a new one. Any suggestions. ...I am a die hard SW fan and my actual opinion on Episode 1 is that although a good movie in it’s own right, it’s not as ingenious or as absorbing as the others in the series. That being said... I loved it! :) A rumoured piece of insider information I will always remember is the day that Liam Neeson walked off the set because Ewan McGregor was making lightsaber noises and having mock fights with an imaginary foe whilst preparing for a scene… :) Anyway the reason I am writing this has less to do with my thoughts on the matter and more to do with some information that will doubtless be fantastic news to many Star Wars fans out there… The region 1 DVD is going to be released on 16th October this year. ...Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Never have I been more thoroughly dissapointed in all my life. I am an avid Star Wars fan but this episode just made me disillusioned with the whole thing. From the unconvincing performances of Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker to the absolutley ridiculous and deliberatley annoying frog man with the big tongue (I even forgot his name I care so much), the Phantom Menace was a huge dissapointment. There were just so many flaws and inconsistencies it was unbelievable. Ofcourse the special effects were wonderful. The pod racing scenes were partciularly thrilling but special effects is not what Star Wars is all about. If it was jsut FX, then it would be classified as another Deep Impact, Armageddon or Mission Impossible. Star Wars was meant to have a story line, a deeper meaning and a soul.
