...The Mercedes 300E is definately a car to buy if you are considering buying a second hand car. This 6 engine inline E-Class has been one of the most popular model in the Mercedes range. It combines balance, smoothness, power, reliability and value. The engine is 3L. The car comes standard with leather, wood finish and a range of luxury fittings for a car of this range like electric windows, central locking alarm, electric mirrors. The model that I have comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Even running at top speeds of 140miles, the 300E is stable and is an impressive performer. The handling feel of the car is superb. The ride is normally wonderfully smooth and the precise steering makes the driving experience more enjoyable. ...If the nearest you will ever get to owning a Mercedes is in your dreams then this museum is well worth visiting as you get close up to loads of lovely classic cars. To start off you have to park your car away from the museum and take the courtesy bus into the site. This is because the museum is situated within the Mercedes factories and I guess it enables the company to ensure that you do not wander off to places where you shouldnt go. Entry into the museum is free which is a lovely surprise. You are given an audio machine (rather liek a telephone) which gives a really detailed description of each car that you see. This is really good as you choose the language you want it to speak in and you control the speed in which you go round the museum. Advantages: Space, Pace, Class, built like an outhouse

...With the birth of our 4th child last year, I need a car with 6 seats. I had a budget of £6,500. The best MPV i could get for that was a 1993 Renault Espace with a smoky engine, ripped cloth seats and tatty loose fittings. Comparing parts and service prices between that and Mercedes showed very little difference and the Mercedes E Class estate drives an awful lot better. I ended up with a more powerful model than I intended with a 240+ bhp 300TE-24valve Sportline from 1991. This car may be 12 years old now and have 150,000 miles under its belt but when it was new in 1991 it cost over £40,000. It was built well and still has no rattles or squeeks (apart from the baby seat!), cleans up beutifully and does not look its age at all. ...the BMW 320d and the Audi A4 1.8 tdi cant offer! The internal styling of the C-class is unfortunately not as exceptional as its fuel economy. The boring fake wood and neverending dark leather and plastic does not harmonise with the beautifully curved exterior body, and many friends have commented on how dissapointinly unluxurious the interior is. I do believe this is mercedes' downfall when comparing it with Audi and BMW! The C220 cdi will set you back about £20000 on the road if you bought a new one today. However a second hand 2000 model would cost about £13000 with about 30000miles. This shows the excellent depreciation value that mercedes' have, and when your spending £20000 on a car its all important. Another aspect when considering price is the spare parts cost. Unfortunately spare mercedes parts are not cheap and the expertise... Read review

...After buying the Mercedes SLK 32 AMG a couple of months ago, because I needed a something to get me from the city to home in Belgravia. I can say I was so pleased with the car me and my wife flew to Germany to pick up my baby. Having had BMW convertibles for most of my working life it was a change. It wasn't cheap at 45k but worth every penny, the test is after changing my car every couple of years I don't think I could trade in my baby for anything better!! (except a newer model!) It's got everything a sports car could ever need one minute it's a roadster and at the touch of a button it's a couple. It's got AMG body styling, twin exhaust, 17-inch alloys and then engine is a dream 0-60 in about 5 seconds! It gets better on the inside two tone leather (i have it in black and blue) the seats are so comfortable you never want to leave... Read review

...I think that they are both to blame equally although i am british so it was all ALONSO =) however in the whole explosion of lewis hamilton, the ''wonder kid'' versus Alonso we all got too caught up with these two and caught up thinking Mercedes had it in the bag and Raikkonen/ferrari saw this tension and came along exploited it all swooped in and took it leaving Alonso, Hamilton, and mercedes in the dust. just goos to show nothing good can come from ''friendly fire'' next time lets hope Hamilton sees this and uses it to his advantage. and then maybe just maybe next time britain could bring it home for once. instead of losing everything all the gosh darn time. =)... ....g. a Vectra or Mondeo (which are a similar size car), it's just that the Mercedes looks and feels like a bigger car and I can't help comparing it to an Omega or Scorpio. Prior to the Mercedes I had a Renault Grand Espace, this was fully loaded with every toy imaginable so the Mercedes had a lot to live up to. Befor e the Renault was a Porsche 944 Turbo but that was before the kids came along.... Read review

...this devilishly strong mile crusher. The car has now done a litlle over 200,000 miles which may seem like a great deal but as the engine runs on synthetic oil it is as new, even the mercedes engineers commented on this and say even double this miles is feasible. All of this without one slight breakdown of any kind...yes this car has been flawless. Thinking of buying a 5-series???? Go for it they are a bloody brilliant car...but i think a lot of people overlook this mercedes as being underpowered and inferior to the bmw but i believe they are just very different cars...but hey they say you are either loyal to bmw or mercedes and I know where my loyalty will always lie especially now witht he bangle revolution now in full swing!...
