A European gem in an Asian powerhouse city. Le Meridien KL

Advantages: Great value for money. Luxury property with European style. Something different for KL
Disadvantages: Not as contemporary as Hilton but all down to personal preference.

I had received a promotional voucher from the hotel when I took lunch with friends a few weeks before and the voucher gave me a complimentary upgrade to the level above the room rate I booked. ...On my recent holiday to Malta i stayed in Le Meridien Hotel, located in Saint Julian's. I would not normally have stayed in a 5 star hotel, but I was lucky enough to win some money towards a holiday from the company that I work for. Obviously, with free money, you are going to push the boat out a bit, and I am glad we did!! Location/Area We arrived at the hotel in the dark, quite late on a Friday night. The taxi brought us round a few small streets and then up quite a steep hill, thus bringing us to the reception of the hotel. My first impression was that it was in quite a strange location, but this is because i had only just seen where we were, and also it was dark, so everything seems different. Le Meridien Dubai - 5 star luxury

Advantages: Proximity to airport & city centre, choice of restuarant, luxury
Disadvantages: None other than distance to beach!

...welcome especially considering the temperature in Dubai rarely dips below 40oC. The hotel also offers a large selection of sports and spa facilities. I can't comment on these other than to say the tennis players looked rather warm! The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to see the city. A five minute taxi ride will place you firmly in the main city centre. A twenty minute taxi drive will take you to the beach. For approximately £15 you can spend the day at the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa. I believe the only exceptions to this are Sundays and public holidays when guests from other Meridien hotels are not accepted. The cost of this hotel is approximately £66 per night for a deluxe room. I think this is an amazing price considering all this hotel has to offer. We paid approximately £700 each for 13 nights...

It?s Hip To Be Square ? Le Méridien Gatwick

Advantages: Peace and tranquility within a busy airport environment. Beautiful atrium!
Disadvantages: Air-conditioning in rooms wasn't great. Building work in progress in the atrium.

...Aficionado Extraordinaire, as ? on reflection - I would appear to be, of staying in bizarre hotel locations, I recently found myself at the Le Méridien Hotel, Gatwick Airport. Not, I?m somewhat embarrassed to admit, that I was actually flying anywhere. Nope! It?s just where (for £40 for the room, against a considerably greater rack-rate) the infamous Priceline decided to send us. And when the hotel is as good as this, at that price, I am certainly not one to complain. In fact, the trip turned out to have several advantages. Let me say from the outset, however, that if you actually are flying to or from Gatwick Airport, south of London, this is a superb airport hotel, with only minor faults. There are two hotels on site ? the Gatwick Hilton is located at the South Terminal (and I?ll confess that I have a real soft spot for Hiltons...

LeRoyal Meridien Family Break

...Le Royal Meridien Spa Beach Resort and Spa Have stayed at the Meridien Spa twice now and it has to have been one of the best hotels I have stayed in. If we are flying through Dubai it is the only place the family will stay in for a couple of days stop over. Upon arrival in Dubai, after negotiating the immigration queues. LeMeridien will meet you (if prearranged) and drive you to the resort. The hotel is situated about 25 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the centre of Dubai. Taxis are available but last time I visited it was a nightmare trying to find one at 3 in the morning! You cannot walk from your hotel into town unless you are mad! Wild Wadi is close by, 10 minutes by taxi. Upon arrival everything is taken care of, your luggage taken to your room while you register and sign in. Welcome drinks upon arrival...

Five star luxury in the hear of Brussels

Advantages: Location, size, quality service and comfort
Disadvantages: Some will not like the limited facilities

...I was fortunate enough to stay at Le Meridien, in Brussels a few weeks back after winning a competition. It was a novel situation all round as I would not normally be able to afford to stay at this quite exclusive establishment on my travel and subsistence budget and, even if I were I would be too busy to appreciate my surroundings. I do visit Brussels a lot for work and have stayed in many hotels (I reviewed the Welcome Hotel a while back and this remains one of my personal favourites for my business trips) but this was a nice change and most people enjoy a little bit of luxury once in a while. Ownership The Le Meridien chain is managed by the US based Starwood Group. This also includes the Sheraton, Westin and St Regis chains amongst others. They operate 888 hotels worldwide, 499 are managed and the balance are franchised...

...This was my 2nd visit to Vienna and my second stay in Le Meridien hotel. Too late in the year to take a beach holiday for less than a grand each but needing a break after 6 months solid work, I decided to go back. Journey We flew Austrian Airlines from Heathrow (Terminal 2 - Very quiet & we managed to check in with no wait at all) to Vienna airport, a 2 hour 10 minute journey in a tiny little Fokker plane. We were almost on the back row on the way & found the heat from the engines quite intolerable. The food was supplied by Do&Co, a European restaurant chain, but I declined it on both legs. On the return journey we were sat in the middle of the plane and the temperature was much better. Check in at the airport was a little slower than on the way out but still only about 10 minutes wait. Chilled out in a Hot Dubai!

I wasn?t really sure what to expect with everything as I am more used to Spanish holidays. We picked Le Meridien Mina Seyahi hotel as it was one of the few hotels in Dubai which actually offers an All Inclusive option. Most only offer B&B with some others offering half board and occasionally full board.
