...Le Royal Meridien Spa Beach Resort and Spa Have stayed at the Meridien Spa twice now and it has to have been one of the best hotels I have stayed in. If we are flying through Dubai it is the only place the family will stay in for a couple of days stop over. Upon arrival in Dubai, after negotiating the immigration queues. LeMeridien will meet you (if prearranged) and drive you to the resort. The hotel is situated about 25 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the centre of Dubai. Taxis are available but last time I visited it was a nightmare trying to find one at 3 in the morning! You cannot walk from your hotel into town unless you are mad! Wild Wadi is close by, 10 minutes by taxi. Upon arrival everything is taken care of, your luggage taken to your room while you register and sign in. Welcome drinks upon arrival... Read review

...welcome especially considering the temperature in Dubai rarely dips below 40oC. The hotel also offers a large selection of sports and spa facilities. I can't comment on these other than to say the tennis players looked rather warm! The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to see the city. A five minute taxi ride will place you firmly in the main city centre. A twenty minute taxi drive will take you to the beach. For approximately £15 you can spend the day at the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa. I believe the only exceptions to this are Sundays and public holidays when guests from other Meridien hotels are not accepted. The cost of this hotel is approximately £66 per night for a deluxe room. I think this is an amazing price considering all this hotel has to offer. We paid approximately £700 each for 13 nights... Read review

...On my recent holiday to Malta i stayed in Le Meridien Hotel, located in Saint Julian's. I would not normally have stayed in a 5 star hotel, but I was lucky enough to win some money towards a holiday from the company that I work for. Obviously, with free money, you are going to push the boat out a bit, and I am glad we did!! Location/Area We arrived at the hotel in the dark, quite late on a Friday night. The taxi brought us round a few small streets and then up quite a steep hill, thus bringing us to the reception of the hotel. My first impression was that it was in quite a strange location, but this is because i had only just seen where we were, and also it was dark, so everything seems different. Advantages: Peace and tranquility within a busy airport environment. Beautiful atrium!

...Aficionado Extraordinaire, as – on reflection - I would appear to be, of staying in bizarre hotel locations, I recently found myself at the Le Méridien Hotel, Gatwick Airport. Not, I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit, that I was actually flying anywhere. Nope! It’s just where (for £40 for the room, against a considerably greater rack-rate) the infamous Priceline decided to send us. And when the hotel is as good as this, at that price, I am certainly not one to complain. In fact, the trip turned out to have several advantages. Let me say from the outset, however, that if you actually are flying to or from Gatwick Airport, south of London, this is a superb airport hotel, with only minor faults. ...on and off the trains. Upgrading to first class at a cost (what it cost us) £39 each is well worth it. You get extra leg room, and plenty of extras like champagne, drinks, and a meal. Travelling by taxi to your hotel is somewhat difficult, and you may (like we were) be charged extra for being in a wheelchair, plus extra luggage-a totally unacceptable behaviour. Overall: I would highly recommend this hotel, it is a touch of class, and brings you into a ‘special’ status. We stayed there for the first week of our honeymoon in the summer of 2002. Le Meridien Mina Seyahi is a relatively new 5 * hotel about 30 minutes drive outside of the city centre of Dubai. It stands on the shores of the Arabian Gulf beside the magnificent Jumeriah Beach. ...When we recently had a team meeting in London, a friend of mine was given the task of arranging somewhere to eat and I was tasked with finding somewhere to sleep. This was good news because I got to choose a hotel that was convenient for me. Selfish, aren’t I? Oh well. WHY I CHOSE LE MERIDIEN RUSSELL Although I do occasionally venture out further, I tend to book hotels that are close to Euston or King’s Cross railway stations because this is where most of my team arrive by train and because all our company buildings are that side of town. The last time I was in town, I stayed in the Holiday Inn in Bloomsbury, which certainly isn’t bad after its refit, but I was unable to get seven rooms for the date I had in mind. ...It being Amanda’s birthday, and coincidentally being the end of a very gruelling “OfSted Inspection” (ie the school inspectors had swooped on her school for a week!), I decided to treat her to a well-deserved weekend away in London. I decided to book via “Priceline” and selected a five star hotel in London’s fashionable Mayfair. My bid price of £80 (plus about £18 taxes and charges) was accepted and we were allocated a room at Le Meridien Piccadilly, a property with an official AA five star classification right on Piccadilly Circus. ...I was fortunate enough to stay at Le Meridien, in Brussels a few weeks back after winning a competition. It was a novel situation all round as I would not normally be able to afford to stay at this quite exclusive establishment on my travel and subsistence budget and, even if I were I would be too busy to appreciate my surroundings. I do visit Brussels a lot for work and have stayed in many hotels (I reviewed the Welcome Hotel a while back and this remains one of my personal favourites for my business trips) but this was a nice change and most people enjoy a little bit of luxury once in a while. Ownership The Le Meridien chain is managed by the US based Starwood Group. This also includes the Sheraton, Westin and St Regis chains amongst others.
