Maid for a wonderful stay

...When it came time to book accommodation for friends and family for our Norwich city-centre based wedding last summer I wound up selecting the four star Maids Head Hotel which is part of the Folio Hotels group. My parents spent a week there leading up to the wedding so we were in and out of the hotel all week. My brothers spent three nights in a room with two twins. My bridesmaids and I stayed in the Cathedral Suite the night before the wedding and then my husband and I stayed there the night of the wedding. Most of my husband's family also stayed in the hotel so we had a great deal of experience and feedback on the property. Ho Ho Ho Merry Madagascar

Advantages: Short Christmas Themed Film
Disadvantages: Not very funny

Maid for Love

Advantages: Predictable romantic comedy
Disadvantages: Too predictable and too unlikely

...her only in "The Wedding Planner" and have enjoyed both her movies. Here, she did come across as a conscientious hotel maid with ambitions for a managerial position. This was my first movie of Ralph Fiennes. I think he is a wonderful actor, being able to carry off the American accent but too nice to be a believable politician. I really can't believe a politician walking in Central park without a bodyguard, with a strange woman and child. So unreal! Notable performance by Bob Hoskins as Lionel the butler. I found him so correct and so typical of an English butler. Then there is Natasha Richardson as Caroline Lane, the other woman from Sotheby. Advantages: Childhood memories, hasn't lost its charm, and still makes me laugh
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, perhaps not to everyone's taste as aimed primarily at children

Maid Marian series 1 was released on DVD in March 2006, and had been sitting on my Amazon wishlist ever since - one of those things I'd quite like, but not at the top of my priorities. At Christmas (2007) I ordered a load of stuff from Amazon from my husband to myself (rather than him buying me presents which I don't really want), and this was one of the things I ordered. Maid Marian and her Merry Men was originally shown on BBC1 in 1989, and ended with series 4 in 1994. At the time it started I was 8, and I was hooked from the beginning.
