Metro Film Review
Advantages: Action, Characters
Disadvantages: It's hardly groundbreaking
...I'll begin this film review by confessing two things: 1. I've never really been a fan of Eddie Murphy; and 2. At the time of writing this, I've never seen any of the Beverley Hills Cop films. If any of these things had been different prior to watching, I may have been disappointed with Metro like a majority of the other film critics. My third, and perhaps most surprising, confession, however, is that I actually enjoyed this film.
It's a formulaic, but effective, buddy-cop comedy-action film. The action set pieces are well done and the central actors appear very confident in their character roles; Murphy, in particular, appears completely at east in front of the camera and is a joy to watch.
Plot wise, Metro is hardly Shakespearian, but no one ever expects that from an action movie anyway. Murphy is Roper, a hostage negotiator...

SHOPPING IN METRO STYLE!
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
...I am not a huge fan of purpose built shopping centres but there are times when I really need retail fix! As I live within an hour?s drive of the Gateshead metro centre it is to this centre a head. The metro centre is the largest shopping centre in Europe with over 300 shops and 50 restaurants. I thought I would give you my thoughts and tips for getting the best out of a days shopping in this mammoth complex.
Getting there.
*************
I live about an hours drive to the north of the metro centre and usually travel by car. The metro centre is situated about 3 miles south west of Newcastle on the A1. From whatever direction you are traveling the centre is very well signposted. On arrival you shouldn?t have too much of a problem finding a parking space as there are 10.000 free spaces available. There are spaces reserved for drivers...

A Metro Moment
Advantages: Free, funny, free, great time killer and free!
Disadvantages: Made by the Daily Mail and dodgy Ink
...What can you get for nothing? Zip, zilch, nadda, zero pence! The answer – very little of relevance or importance except The Metro! The Metro is a free paper which you should be able to find in a city near you….
So why should I want one?
It’s free, isn’t that a good enough reason!? No?! OK then, you should pick up a copy of the Metro because it’s a great newspaper. Because it’s aimed at the rush-hour workers trudging to the office every morning it has to cater for a wide range of tastes and readerships. It has all the big news stories of the day in a slightly more condensed form for the Guardian and Times readers among us, and it has the stupid stories about alien landings and super models for the Sun readers among us. Surprisingly for a free paper it’s got a pretty high quality...

MY MARVELLOUS MORNING METRO
Advantages: Free - it's free I tell you!
Disadvantages: Possibly too brief for some
...As I make the short walk into the office each morning, I must be the only person who is actually walking into Manchester Piccadilly train station. Don?t worry, I don?t have a fetish for spending time in train stations - my journey is entirely selfish. Seldom does a working day go past when I don?t pick up a copy of the free newspaper, Metro.
Metro is published daily, Monday to Friday, in most major UK cities and is given away free at major railway stations. You can also find copies on some metropolitan buses. I generally only read the Manchester version, but have picked up London, Leeds and Birmingham editions and they all seem to be of a similar standard. The paper is normally about 40 pages long and for me is an essential daily acquisition.
NEWS COVERAGE
Despite its local focus, Metro newspaper covers national...

FREE METRO
Advantages: IT'S FREE
Disadvantages: Too many adverts, stories too brief, but hey, hey its free
...Metro always make my bus or tram jourmey to town more intresting. The idea is good, to give a free paper to encourage people to read more. It has all the main headlines inside as the other papers, though it may not go into as much detail as a broadsheet. It also helps me keep up with current affairs as I have teenagers at home who pull strange faces if I try and watch the news. There are plenty of stories inside and colour pictures. It'll be paid for by all the adverts which it must be said that their is a lot of. Once yyou've read it aswell your meant to leave it so someone else can have the benefit of reading it. The sport at the back is mainly football. Overall a good idea, and each region has it own edition but even though that this is there is little local news inside, only a what's on guide or else you'd never know. It has sudoko...

The inside scoop on Metro
Advantages: Free
Disadvantages: Crap
...This is a paper I was wary of at first, as were a lot of the nationals. Why would anyone buy their papers in the morning again, when there was a free one on offer? I don't think they really had any reason to worry. One, all the copies of Metro have gone by about 7.30 am, so you have to decide whether to take a chance on being able to nick someone else's or buy a paper anyhow. And for another, their writing is crap. Metro serves a completely different purpose to other newspapers, in that it's specifically designed to be read in 20 minutes, offers no editorial, comment or lengthy features and doesn't even do any actual reporting. In fact, they lift practically everything straight of the Press Association newswire, which is hardly in itself a beacon of reliable journalism, being the Daily Mail of the newswire services. Honestly, they take...

Free Metro Paper
Advantages: It's free , Interesting,
Disadvantages: None
...Every weekday monday - friday you can receieve this paper absolutely free of charge. They can mainly be found on the front of busses as soon as you get on.
Since this paper has been handed out free of charge I would definately say that my two bus rides every morning have definately gone a lot faster then they used to. No longer do I worry and hate being stuck in traffic instead I just put my head down and receive the best paper :)
Ok, I wouldn't say this is the best of paper's around although for free I am certainly not complaining! It contains all the top stories... interesting facts.. daily horoscopes (my favourite ) and the televison guide.
Every morning in Cardiff there is a man or woman stood in all weathers handing out a metro for free to anyone who is passing. I am yet to see a person refuse this paper! It is definately...

Subterranian fun in Austria
Advantages: Interesting, educational and fun
Disadvantages: 9 degrees and damp
...a blanket to wrap around your shoulders and keep the chill out.
Austria and in particular Vienna, is a wonderful destination for any holiday maker, the Seegrotte was only one of the many sights we managed to take in on our week away, the people are very friendly, the scenery is amazing and Vienna in particular is just brilliant, we loved it so much we are already planning a return!...

On the Busses with METRO
Advantages: Free, intresting read
Disadvantages: None, its free!
...Metro is the quality free paper available on public transport. Over the summer (in Birmingham) I commuted to work by both train and buss and picked up a copy of the daily Metro every morning. The paper was full of quality articles ranging from business, latest news and sports. The paper was intresting, well layed out and included a free TV supplement so I could look what was going to be on TV that evening. Before the introduction of the Metro paper, I found traveling not the nicest of tasks, as eveyone was stairing and everyone else creating a horrid environment. With the introduction of this paper it took my mind off the task at hand and the journeys seem to fly bye. Well worth a read and its free too!...

Meerkat Metro Electric Bike
Advantages: Gets me, a big person, up some very very steep gradients.
Disadvantages: The battery gauge is useless.
...Meerkat Metro Adult Unisex Electric 6-speed Cycle 19½" Frame
First things first, I am a big gal. Bigger than most men in fact, modesty keeps me from revealing to my weight (I wouldn't want you getting jealous, you see ;) lol) but I am probably the biggest person you're likely to ever see on a bicycle - a title I take pride in, in fact lol). I absolutely love cycling; only other cyclists can relate to the sheer joy one feels; the freedom, the scenery, the unadulterated 'Va Va Voom' of it all. But since moving to Wales, a place renowned for it's very steep hills and valleys, and where flat land is a rarity, cycling became impossible. On the incredibly rare occasion I do see the occasional cyclist around here they are invariable 'whippet' like in stature, and inevitably, they have to walk their 'lighter-than-a-feather' bike up...
