Old Macdonald had a 5-star Hotel - eee ai eee ai oh

Advantages: It's spectacular and surprisingly quiet and the best location in the city
Disadvantages: Parking, high prices.

...As a student at Oxford University in the late 1980s, the Randolph seemed like the physical embodiment of the class divide that afflicted poor kids like me who came from state schools from the much wealthier students who took the affluence and grandeur of the city's finest hotel entirely in their stride. I'd never been in such a grand hotel and the closest thing to a grand building in my home city was the local branch of Lloyds Bank. My flat mates' parents would arrive each term and take us out to the Randolph for rather staid Sunday lunches in the spectacular high ceilinged dining room where we'd sit and watch the world cycle by through the tall windows. By contrast my parents would visit bringing a bag full of fish and chips or a Chinese take-away. I can't really say that we enjoyed the Randolph that much more than a take...

Britain's Most Glamorous 5-Star Hotel!

Advantages: Super high-gloss telly drama, great cast, funny
Disadvantages: Nothing at all!

...In amongst the rubbish we have on our television screens these days, there comes every so often a gem, a shining light that tells us that this country is still able to make fantastic TV programmes which are quality, which make you want to watch them. In 2006, Hotel Babylon became one of these shows. It's high-gloss format with an attractive cast made it must-see television, and it became a hit. Now the first and second series are out on DVD so I'm working my way through them once more! Hotel Babylon is actually based on a book by Imogen Edward-Jones and another anonymous author which was released in 2004. The BBC picked up the rights to turn it into a television show, and so 'Hotel Babylon' was born. Hotel Babylon shows us the lives and workings of a 5 star hotel in London, and its staff that work there. It's managed by Rebecca...

Great 5 star hotel

Advantages: Great service and cheap for a 5 star hotel
Disadvantages: May need to book a room in advance

...There are two sites to the Renaissance Hotel. There is the Renaissance Wing Deluxe and the New World Wing Superior. There is not much difference, Renaissance Wing Deluxe is a little more luxury, which each room will cost more. I stay at the New World Wing Superior. I paid RM 185 (approx £26) excluding service charge and 5% gov tax. Rates will changes depending on the month of the year (See below). The hotel is based close to the city centre, were it is 10 minute walking distance to the Twin Tower and 20 minute walk to the a shopping area. There are taxis and buses if you don't feel like walking. But I recommend using the Monorail, which is close by. The view is great, I was on the 17th floor and I had a brilliant view of the Twin Towers. I would think if you were at the Renaissance Wing Deluxe site, you would get the view of the KL...

A 5 Star Hotel for a 5 Star Anniversary

Advantages: Unbelievably luxurious
Disadvantages: Probably won't be able to tolerate a 2 star hotel again

...Niro and with a Michelin-starred chef, guarantees a pricey meal however so Mrs L and I skipped it. Conclusion Mrs L had always wanted to stay in a 5* hotel and even with Airmiles the Ritz was well out of my price range. That said, we had a great stay, loved every minute of our A-list lifestyle and have taken a whole load of fond memories away from the experience. We would both love to do it all over again and would strongly recommend the Metropolitan for anyone looking for stylish, five star luxury and top class service. I am already saving for our 20th anniversary! Useful Links & Numbers * The official Metropolitan hotel website (accurate pictures throughout) which allows for direct bookings: http://www.metropolitan.london.como.bz/stay * Airmiles - www.airmiles.co.uk © ben-lloyd 2009. Habbo Hotel 5 star Hotel fun

Advantages: addictive, free, fun, endless possibillities, lots of rooms
Disadvantages: can get boring, some people ruin your fun, can be laggy, repitive

...Welcome to the habbo hotel, the habbo hotel is a online chat room that was first launched in 2000 in Finland. Then 2001 in the UK and then following 2004 in USA. The chat room is aimed at teenagers around the world. The current population for habbo is 118 million users however this is the latest figure taken from June 2008 and their is on average 8 million unique visitors monthly and 75,000 avatars being created everyday. The first time I starting using the habbo hotel was about 4 years ago in 2005 I found the website to be very user friendly and good fun. In a nutshell habbo hotel is a chat room however instead of a boring text based chatroom where you type and can chat to other users in a very boring text only format. In the habbo hotel when you first start you make an avatar and you can walk around the hotel visiting different hotel...

Deluxe 5 star hotel, one of the best on the island of Cyprus

Advantages: Luxury rooms, great choice of food, friendly, efficient service, leisure facilities, location
Disadvantages: Expensive but typical of a 5 star luxury hotel

...like royalty, and one of the few 5 star hotels on the island who welcome and cater for families. The hotel is open to the public and some of it's restaurants are too (Chinese, Seafood & Fish, gourmet Greek) and these can get booked up so its worth booking in advance. The same goes for the spa, hairdressers etc - if you are planning on a relaxing day of thalasotherapy check availability early on in your holiday. During peak season some of the kids clubs can get full so again its advisable to check and plan ahead where possible. If you need information on local excursions, car hire, places to see, speak to guest relations or reception, they have lots of information and directions to various places and also offer a range of excursions or car hire. This isn't the place to go if you are looking for a cheap holiday, it's a luxury...

The Star Hotel - An absolute Gem!

Advantages: Food - Staff - Location - Everything
Disadvantages: NOTHING !

...Just back from a wonderful stay at The Star hotel in Kingussie. We stayed for a 5 night break in Sept. and cannot find fault. We were welcomed by the owner, and shown to our room. Good size, with large double bed, nice dressing table & warbrobe with plenty of space for all our walking gear. Tea & Coffe making facilities aswell as an iron & hairdryer. You can have the option of having a bath or shower, we chose bath, which was huge! Ample car parking behind the hotel which also doubles as a little beer garden. Breakfast & dinner included in price...and to be honest we have never eaten so much in our lives!!! Absolutely amazing especially for the price! A full range of choices for breakfast, fruits, cereals & of course porridge! Orange juice on tap! Once you've devoured that, a full breakfast menu to choose from...from the full...

The Culloden Hotel - N.Irelands only 5 star hotel

Advantages: Classy, beautiful surroundings and pure opulance
Disadvantages: Expensive and outside Belfast City.

...Set in beautiful gardens and forest the Culloden hotel is the only hotel in Northern Ireland which has gained 5 stars. An ideal place to stay for those who want to be pampered and stay in luxury. The rooms are classy with differing levels of luxury from double rooms with 4 poster beds to full luxury suites. I found the level of service exemplary , the staff always helpful and smiling, all giving you a feeling of relaxing in great comfort in surroundings that made you feel totally at home. The food in the restaurent was superb - near Michelen star level and the hotel bar was welcoming with good local musicians playing nightly. The atmosphere was one of relaxing in opulance. The only downside was that the hotel was about 8 miles from Belfast - fine if you wanted to stay in the hotel relaxing in the spa and being pampered but if you wanted...

5 stars for the 4 star Royal York hotel

Advantages: Great location, every need taken care of
Disadvantages: Price!

...I recently had a chance to stay at this rather lovely 4 star hotel in York. My husband is involved with a medical company and for their AGM this year they stayed at The Royal York with a meal at the nearby (if you call 40 minuets on a coach) Castle Howard. All very posh and normally way above my means of expense (for the general person attending this function think doctor, surgeon, well paid researcher), however as hubby does work for them they paid for most of the trip (we had to pay £26 in total, what a great deal!). Arrival -------- The hotel is situated next to York train station and has a large car park so it?s convenient to drive too. The hotel is about 5 minuets walk away from the centre of York where there are loads of shops from the normal high street chains to antique and art shops. You are met at reception by...

5 Star Luxury starting at £20 a night! - Renaissance Kuala Lumpur

Advantages: Cheapest 5 star property in KL. Excellent western property. Great facilities and staff.
Disadvantages: Not as fresh as other 5* properties but at this price, who cares??!

...?s available outside and there is a monorail station which takes you throughout all the major areas of KL. Not to mention the fact the central location leaves you within walking distance of many of the tourist attractions and malls etc. should you wish to brave the heat! Check In Once the taxi had dropped me off a bellboy was on hand to help me with my luggage. Before I know it he had taken my luggage from me and passed me a small slip to give to the receptionist. The hotel is split into two wings. One is classed as the Renaissance wing, the other the New World wing. I had booked a room in the New World wing and approached their reception desk. In true five star style there was a huge chandelier over a large imposing reception desk. This was going to be impressive. As soon as I got talking to the receptionist she could see I was staying...
