Advantages: I Get Them For Free Disadvantages: Low Storage, Easily Lost
...-- Preamble or Introduction if you want to call it that --
For those of you old enough to remember the early days of presonal computing. You will remember farting about with 5.25 inch disks which got crumpled and were notoriously unreliable. I first used them on a BBC micro way back in 1985, when I sold out and did a YTS (Youth Training (exploitation) Scheme). When i Bought an Amiga 600 it came with 3.5 inch floppy disk drive inbuilt, and the results were revolutionary to me anyway. To call them floppy was a bit of a misrepresentation as they were not floppy at all, this had the advantage that they did not crumple and if looked after properly they would not crumple like the old ones.
-- What I Use Them For --
I have used Maxell MF2HD's for most of my proffessional life as an engineer and never had many problems with them. I use...
...'Born Like This' is DOOM's (previously MF Doom and many many other pseudonyms) most recent album which was released on Mrach 24th 2009 on the Lex Records label.
This album continues Doom's approach of playing a cartoon-esque supervillain and he is joined by various other characters throughout the album thanks to some awesome cameo appearances.
The man behind the mask produces the majority of the album himself (ten of the seventeen tracks) but guest production comes from Jake One (four tracks), Madlib (one track) and te deceased J Dilla provides the backing track for two songs on here.
1. Supervillain Intro
Short intro to the album sees Doom boasting over his own Coca Leaf beat (which will be used again later on in the album).
2. Gazzillion Ear
First tune proper, this is a great track. Produced by J Dilla, this uses a wide range...
Advantages: Use literally anywhere with a mobile phone signal. 98% coverage. Full On Regular Internet Access Disadvantages: Running out of credit, unused bandwidth does not rollover
...I went and bought the ZTE MF622 USB Broadband modem after reading about it on the 3 website. What made me go out and buy it was the fact that existing 3pay customers got it for £70 instead of £99. Since buying it the price has dropped to 50%. So i presume that would be about £50 now. Obviously this is the best choice if you dont want a landline in order to enjoy the full benefit of broadband. It's just as good as wifi, as you can move about freely. No need to be near any phone line as the signal works the same as your mobile. As long as your within coverage of the mobile signal masts. Which are plentiful these days. I live in Crewe, Cheshire. Im apparently in the 3 turbo network area which is meant to give you a connection rate of about 3.6mbps. Which is pretty good going. All the big websites which use a lot of bandwidth such as...

Advantages: High refresh rates, it's not to bad for a 15" shadow mask monitor Disadvantages: it's not a great 15" shadow mask monitor, 15" monitors aren't that great anyway.
...The MF-8515G doesn?t do the name iiyama justice. The monitor has poor power regulation, which means the picture resizes when the screen moves from large amounts of white to large amounts of black on the screen. The contrast is also quiet poor, though bear in mind I am writing this on the iiyama Vision Master pro 410 (Also known as the a702-ht for no apparent reason) which is the finest monitor known to man as far as I?m concerned, so anything else looks poor! In it?s favour it does have a good OSD by iiyama standards, though it?s still the area iiyama constantly loose out in, and it has good refresh rates for a 15? monitor. All the same, have a look around before buying this....
Advantages: Little-known underground hip-hop gem from MF Doom Disadvantages: Quite hard to find, and it ain't cheap
...This is a pretty good although not outstanding effort from legendary underground New York MC MF Doom. Recorded under the alias King Geedorah, a lot of the album references the monster movies from which King Geedorah was taken (Godzilla-style movies in the 60's). There are many skits sampling scenes from these movies, which can hinder the flow of the album slightly on occasions, but generally add to the monster-movie vibe of the record as a whole.
Lyrically Doom flexes nicely across each track, with his rugged, lisping style carrying well throughout. Most tracks are in the battlle-rap vein, mixing up various similes/punchlines and observations, with a couple tackling more serious subject matter (such as the gloomy 'I Wonder').
Production-wise the whole album is very raw, but also very well-executed, using b-movie samples and crusty...
Advantages: Cheap and looks good. Disadvantages: Not a great battery life and only a 32mb memory.
..., you can listen to it, or if you get fed up with the music you have on it, you can delete it and replace it with more music.
THE YELO DMP32:
The LG MF-PD360 is a portable digital MP3 player. It is a small lightweight player, with excellent performance. When you buy this MP3 player, you will be supplied with a 32mb MMC card (which I will explain later), but you can buy MMC cards with a larger memory, although they are expensive. The unit has no moving parts and is unaffected by movement, or being dropped, which is excellent. It features powerful sound, Super Bass and a four preset equalizer. You are also supplied with PC connection leads and management software, so you are able to transfer music onto your MP3 player. Anyway, here are the details:
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:
The LG MF-PD360 will easily fit in your pocket...
Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use, Many features and Good Quality. Disadvantages: Supplied Earphones are basic.
...The LG MF-PD360 is perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend a small fortune but still wants to listen to quality music, with all the features that an 'above standard' MP3 player has. Its not only the MP3 player that strikes me as stylish and suprisingly good value but its accesories aswell. For example, a external LCD remote, so you don't have to reach into you're pocket every five minutes. A small draw-string bag to keep all the dust and dirt from ruining it. A rechargeable battery + charger so there's no longer any need to buy batteries. But just incase there is a clip-on battery extention for one battery. With a USB connection for speedy file transfer its an allround bargain. Buy it you won't be dissapointed. Brand new I have found this in virgin for £144....
Advantages: looks great, easy to use Disadvantages: poor bass response through headphones
...The LG MF-PD360 MP3 player seems to be a well kept secret. I first found it on bigsave.com, but when I tried to find out more about it I came up against a brick wall.
LG's own web site had no info about this neat little player, and the only review I could find was on ZDnet.
The player is palm-sized and thinner than your finger, which means it'll easily go in your shirt pocket and you're actually in danger of losing it pretty easily. The front of the unit is glossy white with a diamond-shaped blue window that hides a single LED. The sides and back are aluminium.
Part of the reason it's so small is that the obligatory display is on the remote control. It's a backlit LCD that displays the song title and artist name at the start of each track, before showing the time elapsed. The display also shows the repeat mode and equaliser setting...
