...Well this review is focusing on more of my time in Florida, ive been away for a while in Australia, so you will hear some reviews about that in the near future, however I felt I should finish off my whole America experience. This review is on my time at the famous Disney attraction "Disney's Hollywood Studios", which is also known as MGM Studios.
History:
Disney's MGM studios were officially opened in 1989, and spans approximately 135 acres in size. It has become one of the main tourist attractions Disney has to offer, attracting millions of people all year round. The parks concept came from the original idea of Epcot, the developers wanted something different to what Epcot was already offering, and thus they decided on a movie epic concept that would attract a wider range of fans.

...I stayed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for 3 nights and 4 days in August 2008 and can honestly say I had a great time. Please let me warn you that this is a fairly lengthy review of my experience.
We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost about $7 which worked out at less than £4 at the time. The first thing you notice about stepping out of the taxi and into the hotel is the fabulous air-conditioning. Vegas in August is VERY hot, well over 40o Centigrade! So it's really a relief to get out of that heat into the fabulously spacious lobby of the MGM and feel cooler straight away.
On stepping inside the hotel (if you arrive by car) you are greeted by the large gold lion in the centre of the lobby in front of which it seems everyone who goes there for the first time rushes to have their photo taken in front of! As did I...
Advantages: 4/5 star, great price, good gambling and atmosphere Disadvantages: The Lion enclosure
...My husband and I have just gotten back from a trip to Las Vegas and chose the MGM hotel to stay at so this forms my review.
The MGM is located right on the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) right by Tropicana Avenue so fairly near one end of the strip. It is located close to the New York New York hotel and there is actually a walkway which joins the two hotels to give you easy access to both.
The hotel in its present form was opened at the end of 1993. Most of the hotels in Las Vegas have a certain them that they like to promote through each of their casinos such at NY NY, Paris, The Venetian etc. The MGM in my opinion is not as heavily themed as the other hotels but follows along the lines of old Hollywood/California movies stars etc with the feature of the MGM lion and movie star photos in the bedrooms. ...MGM is the theme park more of the movies out of all of the Disney parks. This was my 2nd favourite park out of the whole of Disney. I liked it here because there were a lot of rides which I love, also it was nice to be in.
This is one of the parks which isn't split up into different lands it's just one big park.
I'll tell you about each attraction by number.
When you walk into the park, you walk straight ahead and come to number1 which is
1.The Great Movie Ride-this is near the 100 years of magic sign. This ride is like a tour, everyone sits in the train which sits up to 5 in a row, there are about 12 rows, anyway it starts to move and you go through all the movies. You go through films like, Casablanca, Alien, The Wizard of Oz, Angels With Dirt Faces, Indiana Jones etc. At the end you all sit and watch a film in the train...

Review of Disney MGM Studios, Florida
...Disney MGM is a place of stunts, thrill rides and more Disney magic.
MGM studios is mainly shows icluding car stunts and indiana jones but the few rides that are in the park are amazing
Tower of terror- drop 13 stories in the dark
Rockin rollocoasta- twist, turn and loop on a ride in the dark.
Startours- fly on a spaceship with R2D2 and C3PO
The shows are excellent too...
Car stunts- a must see, cars jumping crashing through and at each other in a spectacular show.
Fantasmic- join micky mouse and the gang as they fight against the evil disney charactors.
Indiana jones- see three scenes from across the trillogy performed live in an epic show.
When going to MGM use the most of the free fast track tickets. Place your ticket into a booth next to a attraction or ride. You will receive a ticket which tells you to come back...
Advantages: Everything you could want under one (massive) roof Disadvantages: Located at the southern end of "The Strip" - so a bit of a walk to some attractions...
...We stayed at the MASSIVE MGM Grand for a few days this time last year.
The MGM Grand, guarded by a 45-foot-tall bronze lion statue has 5,005 rooms and used to be the largest hotel in the world, a claim recently stolen by the Ambassador City Jomtien hotel in Thailand with 5,100 rooms. It's still the largest hotel in North America, although I think this will soon be stolen by George Clooney's Vegas hotel development...
(While we're on the subject of large hotels, 17 of the 20 largest hotels in the world are in Las Vegas ! So even if you don't stay at The MGM Grand, odds are you'll be staying somewhere big...)
The MGM Grand is part of the MGM Mirage group, that also owns, among others, The Bellagio, The Mirage, Treasure Island, New York-New York (just across the street) and Beau Rivage hotels/casinos in Vegas.

...On parking up at Disney MGM you are faced with two options, walk to the entrance of the park or get on the free tram which takes you right to the main entrance, the car parks are enormous and a tip is to remember the section you are in, these are all themed depending on the park you are in.
The tram is a great idea as it saves your legs for the walks around the park.These are available at most disney parks.
On entrance to the park you find yourself on Hollywood Boulevard which consists of mainly shops to buy and browse at the souveniers and gifts available; i found myself spending a small fortune here(it is advisable to limit the amount of money you take to a park so you have enough left to enjoy the rest of your holiday!). There are many great gifts available including nail varnish in disney character shaped bottles, hats, mickey...

Advantages: Fun, less busy than other disney parks. Disadvantages: Poor food at Pizza Planet
...Getting to the Studios is fairly easy. Motorists can reach Disney-MGM Studios via World Drive, often called "the main entrance" which is off of US192. It can also be reached via Epcot Drive off of I-4. The best method of transport is the Free disney resort bus's which can be picked up from your Any Disney world hotel, Downtown disney or the transport station.
-----------THE PARK----------
Disney MGM Studios is my families 2nd Favourite Disneyworld Park. This park is not as large as the others but if you love movies its not to be missed. The park is about bringing the movies, TV, music, to life.
Disney MGM studios is not just a themepark but is also a working studios. Approx two thirds is a closed off to the public but don't let this put you off there is still plenty of space for us. The studios opened May 1, 1989.

...We visited Orlando in August of last year and all I can say is I'm so glad our hotel ran shuttle buses to Disney as it would be quite confusing to get to driving yourself, although it doesn't take long, about 10 minutes from International Drive. I cannot really comment on the prices as I purchased my tickets online before I left home, but I can recommend the place where I got them:

...Out of all the Parks at Walt Disney World MGM Studios rates very high on my list, infact it could be my favourite.
As with most of the parks one day is just not enough, I found that we spent 1 full day and an afternoon at MGM and it was ideal as we got to see and do everything that we wanted to.

My biggest tip is to pre-purchase your tickets before you arrive for places like Keith Prowse Tickets as you get a few freebies thrown in for good measure! If you are thinking of going anytime soon log onto their site they currently have a 14 day ultimate ticket for the same price of a 5 day premium ticket a real good saving.
We opted for the Disney 14 Day Ultimate Ticket which provided us with entry into all of the Disney Parks for the full 14 days, the ticket cost just £115.
Our coach transfer was at 8am...
