...I have stayed in the Hotel Miami, maybe three times. I have been to Es Cana probably about 8 or 9 times now. I'm only 20. Anyway, on with the review. When I first stayed in the Hotel Miami, I was only young, but I do remember. We had a corner room with a balcony overlooking the sea and bar area, this due to my sister being in a wheelchair and needing the extra space. They were very helpful and did well to accommodate for this. Although the beds needed a bit of a shuffle and the wheelchair could not get into the bathroom. (As I say, we were young so Dad simply lifted her across). The rooms were comfortable. I remember them originally being abit dreary in decor, but I know for a fact they have since decorated as they were a nice light green colour last time I stayed. Really brightening up the room and making you feel welcome...

Winterhaven Hotel, Miami Beach

Advantages: Lovely little hotel
Disadvantages: Limited amenities, but what do youe expect for 2*...?

...We stayed at The Winterhaven Hotel for a few days last summer, on Ocean Drive in the heart of Miami's Art Deco Historical District. We booked this hotel based purely on it's looks and location, and were not disappointed in either department ! When the Winterhaven Hotel opened in 1939 it was advertised as an "ultra modern" hotel with "large outside rooms," "a skytop solarium," "spacious lobby and mezzanine," "large veranda overlooking the ocean," and "$1 per night" rates. It's still pretty much the same, except the $1 per night rates, although it's still pretty good value - check Expedia or similar for the best bargains... The hotel was designed by Albert Anis, one of the top Art Deco architects, in the streamlined style of the day, and a recent two year, top-to-bottom restoration focused on the hotel's dramatic double...

Advantages: Beach front location
Disadvantages: Too many to list

...My husband,myself and our two children have been to Ibiza once before and fell in love with the island, we stayed in the quieter resort of Es Cana and really enjoyed our holiday. After that we decided to return this time taking my parents with us, we chose the Hotel Miami for its location and family friendly reputation, it is also a 3 star hotel which we thought was even better as my parents were used to stopping in 4 star Hotels (adult only ones). We booked through First Choice and arrived in Es Cana in June 2005. Our first impressions of the hotel were good. #ROOMS# Our rooms were adequate and clean with a TV, air con and plenty of storage. The maids cleaned our rooms and changed towels daily and bed linen once a week. In my opinion the only reason this hotel has its 3 star rating is because the rooms have air con and a TV...

National Hotel, Miami Beach

Advantages: Great hotel, great location
Disadvantages: Not that cheap...

...We stayed at The National Hotel for a few days last summer, on Collins Avenue, one block from Ocean Drive in the heart of Miami's Art Deco Historical District. Built in 1939, the 13-story National Hotel lobby contains original period antiques and richly designed wood furnishings. It was restored in 1997 to showcase the original Art Deco details (the concierge desk is a precise replica of the original from 1939 !), this hotel is a visual delight for Art Deco fans ! It's not a massive hotel (unlike the Loew's just a block down the street), but then most of the South Beach / Ocean Drive hotels are acutally pretty small affairs... Review of National Hotel, Miami Beach

Pension Miami Hotel, Barcelona, Spain.

Advantages: Close to centre, clean room, great staff, near great shops, cheap and clean!
Disadvantages: no view, alley way smells, people pee in alley way, noisy.

...After reading some very dodgy things about this hotel I made sure that my travel agent booked us a double room with a jacuzi bath (these are the biggest rooms that they have) and that was also away from the lift (hardly ever used to be fair). The hotel is a tad hard to find (but if you get the airport bus it drops you off at Universitat which is near the hotel). Please make sure that you do your reaserch into the location and print yourself off a map! We did still get lost and asked some very nice guys handing out flyers where it was! When you get there it does look like a hostel. It is next to an alley (I will talk about this later!) and you have to buzz to be let it (a great idea I feel!) The staff are SO nice and friendly and speak great English (compared to my lousy Catalonian!). They will give you directions, metro, train...

Wooa we`re going to Miami!!

Advantages: Everything. From food to location to entertainment to living quarters!
Disadvantages: You cant live there!

...I decided I would take my wife and baby to Ibiza this year and we decided between us that we would stay in the Hotel Miami. It is a 3 Star hotel and I must say this is under rated but it saves us money so there we go. TRAVEL COMPANY. I won`t go into too much detail as I am reviewing the hotel. We tarvelled with Direct Holidays and they were excellent throughout and are now known as M.Y. Travel. TIME FROM AIRPORT TO HOTEL It takes about 30mins to get from Ibiza Airport to Es Cana and the Miami. However if you are on a coach load of people you are likely to be one of the last drops and should expect to spend over an hour on the coach. This could be advantagous for sight seeing for free. Welcome to Miami!

Advantages: Great beaches, nightlife and shopping
Disadvantages: it can be expensive

A Miami Miami; I'm a pensioner now

Advantages: Cheap, clean, central location, cheap supermarket nearby
Disadvantages: No breakfast, no windows, not wheelchair friendly, questionable neighbourhood

...~~~ Overview & Appearance ~~~ I have just returned from another of my legendary "shoe-string" budget tours during which I stayed at the Pension Miami hotel with Mrs Ben. We stayed two nights at said establishment for the princely sum of £68.29 via HotelClub.com. Admittedly the hotel was booked before finding out certain details which may have led me to choose another establishment such as the lack of breakfast and the "ladies of the night" who alledgedly ply their trade in the immediate vicinity (we did not see any of this however). The Hotel itself is located on an alley which none of the locals had heard of and it took us a little while to find the address. Make sure you print out a map before you leave home! The alley and the outside of the hotel are not hugely inviting as the alley precludes sunlight and the surrounding buildings...

Miami Ink!

Advantages: Interesting to watch, loads of cool tattoos to look at
Disadvantages: Often I find myself wanting a tattoo done by Chris Garver but unfortunately I don't live in Americ

...Miami Ink, if you haven't heard about it already, is a TV show about a tattoo parlour in Miami (if you hadn't already guessed!). The series began in July 2005, introducing four eager tattooists, Ami James, Chris Nunez, Chris Garver and Darren Brass, as well as Ami's apprentice, Yoji Harada. Throughout the episodes new tattooists enter and go, the most famous probably being Kat Von D who turned the studio around with her beautiful portrait tattoos. Each show lasts about an hour long, and during that time we see a variety of clients enter the studio to get their tattoos. The guys who run/work in the studio are all fairly young, heavily tattooed and have been through different walks of life. Most of them have spent their lives tattooing, so working in the shop you can tell means a lot to them. Each artist has a different personality...

The Trotters do Miami

Advantages: More brillaint humour and a great story
Disadvantages: dodgy canned laughter in latter part of episode
