...the evils of a jealous other, as it is a fantasy movie. Rutger Hauer is uncharacteristically gentle as the knight Navarre, a role to which he is surprisingly well suite and puts in one of his best ever performances. There is a real sense of anguished longing and loneliness in his portrayal and you really begin to feel his pain. And little wonder, because Michelle Pfeiffer looks absolutely stunning in this movie. Sadly, though, that is about the extent of her involvement because she has little other impact on the proceedings which is a little exploitational, but there you go. This is one of the most overlooked movies out there, which either meant that 1985 was an extremely good year for films, or its been extremely unfortunate. Take a lok at Ladyhawke when you have some spare time,, maybe its not your cup of tea, but its certainly worth giving...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead

Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...I bought this Album on the first day of its release for my mum, who has also supported Michelle through her whole Pop Idol experience. I decided to listen to the C.D first, to make sure that if there was a problem I could return the C.D in good time. Looking at the album, I was surprised to find her wonderful version of 'O Holy Night' wasn't on the album. The second thing that struck me, was that on listening to the album, all her tracks were of the same ballard style, with little variation. Don't get me wrong, I love Michelles style, and every song shows her true talent, but to younger buyers, the C.D may get slightly boring after listening to many similar tracks. To older buyers who can appreciate the meaning of the lyrics rather than whether the song is 'poppy' or not, this will be one of the best albums around. What makes...
