FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included,new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Mick Foleys Have a Nice Day
Advantages: Great book
Disadvantages: Some of it wouldent be understood by the younger readers (11+ I think...)
...Have a Nice day - the autobiography is written by none other than WWF Superstar and general wrestling legend Mick Foley. Now usually people think that wrestlers are big heavyweights with no brains - however this really puts those people into perspective as Mick Foley becomes a credit to the wrestling world and produces a top quality autobiography the likes of which anyone would be proud.
Just so you understand who this man is he is the man who before he retired to pursue his writing career would put his life on the line many times - most famously at the King of the Ring on 1998 where he damn near killed himself in an attempt to please the fans. He achieved that with flying colours.
Foley has also wrestled in Japan in the King of the Deathmatch tournament - which he won I might add by defeating Terry Funk in a total Gorefest! If...

Mick Foley a compelling read
Advantages: A compelling story of a mans life
Disadvantages: Not suitable for kids
...I am and have been for many years now a wrestling fan. So when i opened this book i knew what it was going to be like. Or i thought i did. Mick Foley is one of the greatest legends in wrestling history and is now a number 1 bestselling author . I read this book some 2 years ago now and still remember everything about it. It starts off with his childhood and his ambition to become a wrestler. Telling us about the infamous garage roof slam as dude love. About sleeping in his car every weekend just so he could train at a wrestling school., and also continue at school. It tells of his match with vader inwhich he lost his ear. I tells of his family life how he met his wife colleen and how his family grew with his beautiful 2 children his love for disney and christmas. It has a very moving and emotional chapter about owen hart the king...

Garry's Five Challenge
Advantages: will help you sleep once you have read this
Disadvantages: none its about me! (koff.....)
...soon return. We have to go through the rough to appreciate the smooth in my humble opinion anyways.
5 things I can't do
*******************
1) Swim. I heard you gasp then! As a child I nearly drowned and its put me off swimming for life - its one of my biggest regrets but try as hard as I can I simply cannot manage it.
2) Save money. As explained above the hole in my pocket appears quicker than Homer Simpson at a donut shop. Need to learn soon as I have a wedding to save for in 2008 and although its 2 and half years away it will be here before I know it.
3) Quit Smoking. I know it's a dirty habit and could lead to illness etc but it's a choice I made many moons ago and try as I like I just don't seem to have the will power to quit. Bad Bad Garry!
4) Shut up. At 27 you'd think I'd know when to keep quiet but even now I don...

Cloudrock - A Real Page Turner
Advantages: Great Read
Disadvantages: None
...Cloudrock.
Author - Garry Kilworth.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in, seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
Marcel Proust.
Synopsis.
~~~~~
This introduction sets up what is to be a wonderfully inventive read. Though you might not think so when I give you some of the background to the story that is..... Cloudrock.
Cloudrock is a spit of land sticking out of the ground to a height of a couple of miles. Think of a huge mushroom but with a flat rather than doomed top. Add in forests, lakes, animals and people and you have your own enclosed society.
It is a cleverly written book starting with, but not exclusively about, 2 brothers, one of whom is a Shadow.
NO don't stop reading he's not actually a shadow but because he was born deformed he was to be thrown from the edge of cloudrock to a ghastly death...
Cloudrock
Advantages: great read
Disadvantages: nothing
...,to acknowledge him would mean Shadows instant death.
There are also night people on Cloudrock and hidden in the mists, ghost people catching the babies. I will say no more but this is a very very good novel.
The pace of the plot is fast and slick. The writing excellent and crisp and fresh. The characters are likable and the baddies get their comeuppance. the ending is predictable but non the less superb for it.
I highly recommend this book.
Written by Garry Kilworth.
Summary: hope there is a sequel....
Don't Scoot On By
Advantages: Very desriptive and emotional writing
Disadvantages: Some of his character names
...There are some places you don't expect to find someone with great novel writing talents. Actors, models, politicians and presenters have tried writing with varying levels of quality and success. Perhaps the most unlikely and possibly the best of them all is Mick Foley, a man who spent a long career as a WWE wrestler, which involved being hit around the head rather a lot. Despite this, or maybe because of this, he has subsequently become a very decent writer and "Scooter" is his second novel.
Scooter Reilly is a young child in 1960s New York, inheriting his unfortunate name from the former Yankees player Phil "Scooter" Rizzuto. It's a time of historical change for the country and a major change in the Bronx where Scooter and his family live. It's a time of great change for Scooter himself, as when he is four his grandfather has a nasty...
