Microsoft Optical Wireless Desktop Elite Setup
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite - keyboard , mouse by
mattsouthern
Advantages: Batterly life, Responsiveness, Range, Feel
Disadvantages: The annoying 'F lock' default
...Microsoft's Wireless Optical Desktop Elite keyboard and mouse combo is the best keyboard – mouse combo I have seen so far. It has got loads of programmable options, a horizontal scroll wheel, and a fantastic battery life. It doesn't come with a charger beacuse you really don't need one! It’s well suited to you if you don’t want a cluttered up desk.
Based on RF technology, the black and silver setup looks very nice and modern. Simply plug the receiver into the ps/2 ports on the back of your PC and away you go. Of course to get the full features you have to install the IntelliPoint software from the included disc. The simple software allows you to customize the mouse buttons and reassign the keyboard's multitude of specialty keys, which lie along the top of the keyboard. Alternatively, you can program these keys to open everything...

A mouse, a mouse, my kingdom for a mouse!
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3.0 Comfort Edition - keyboard , mouse by
LegendaryMrDude
Advantages: Ergonomics, wireless, software control
Disadvantages: Expensive, reliability, do you really need all the exras?
...is a trip to PC World and it's no place to be the week before Christmas. Not only are they over staffed with sales reps eager to take the comission on selling you the latest media centre laptop, they have also got rid of most of the cheap stock leaving only the high-margin stuff. This seems to hold true for keyboards as much as anything else.
So it was that, after some rudimentary testing in the shop, I walked away with this little number, a "Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop - Photo Edition", and a staggering £80 lighter in the wallet.
£80!
For a keyboard and mouse! Sure, there were more expensive models (all the way up to around £120!!!). There were also a few cheaper models (weighing in at around £60) but in testing they didn't have a good feel to them, and I worried that my already poor typing skills would suffer.
What do you get...

Great keyboard/mouse combo for a reasonable price
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite - keyboard , mouse by
Vicster1784
Advantages: Great keyboard features, awesome mouse, reasonable price
Disadvantages: Not as nice as the DiNovo
...to impress me with their terrific mouse solutions.
That is when I came across the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite. It was a nice little package and included the latest Microsoft mouse so I decided to give it a go. Being a Microsoft keyboard it was very plug and play and I didn’t even have to install any drivers at first. To get the full functionality out of the keyboard thought I did have to install the software that it came with. That gave me full use of the extra keys that this keyboard sports.
A few words on the design on the keyboard. The actual key layout is pretty standard and quite easy to use. The keys feel quite soft to the touch and are very silent. To the left of the keyboard it has a scroll wheel which is a great idea for those who like using the keyboard only to scroll through web pages. Above the regular keys there is a row...

Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite Keyboard!
Review of Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth - keyboard , mouse by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Can move around and stil type - even on the sofa, no wires
Disadvantages: Expensive for a keyboard & mouse, also overall a bit chunky
...COST: £69.99
PLACE OF PURCHASE: Comet
BRAND: Mircosoft
For a super special birthday gift my parents decided not to get me a new computer, or even a shiny new laptop. No, they decided to get me a keyboard and mouse set. Great you might say. Not so if you don't have a computer, however fortunately I do so it wasn't a disapointment when I opened the box.
At first I thought 'thanks.....' but when I read the box I got really excited.
In the package you get, all wrapped up in clear plastic and white packing foam, one very posh looking black Microsoft wireless optical desktop elite keyboard , and one optical wireless mouse to go with it. The mouse features a scrolling tool which is fantastic as allows me to scan down pages on the web super fast - and is a neat feature my previous plug in mouse lacked.
The keyboard itself is black...

Microsoft Wireless Desktop With Fingerprint Reader
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader - keyboard , mouse by
blackhawk204
Advantages: Fingerprint reader, shortcut keys, design, wireless mouse.
Disadvantages: Keyboard is not wireless.
...that this keyboard offers.
The layout of the keyboard is perfect, with the addition of the ''Office'' key shortcuts, my documents, my prictures, my music, mail, web/home and messenger. My favourites button, and also 5 buttons to which you can assign programmes to, not forgetting the calculator, log off , sleep and volume controls too!
The keyboard also comes with a palm rest (the dark area at the bottom of the keyboard) for comfort whilst typing. (This can be removed if required)
If purchased as the package you also receive the optical wireless mouse. The battery life is outstanding, only ever changed my batteries once (if that) a year. A warning pop-up appears to advise you when the battery level is low. Accuracy and reception is brilliant. Standard left and right buttons with central scroll wheel.
Well worth the purchase!...

Microsoft hit the spot again
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth - keyboard , mouse by
Andrew.F
Advantages: Design is excellent and ease of use
Disadvantages: batterys, but this can be solved!!
...local reatail shops. This mouse is easily accesable at various shops which is another strong point.
So take it from me don't just, think that you are staying safe in that your using a wire connnected mouse, because your not. Trust me you will be much better off if you buy one of these for only a little bit more money.
WIRELESS OPTICAL KEYBOARD
You get this keyboard with the mouse in the package as shown above. But what many people would think that if they are been sold together that this must mean, they can buy better ones induvidually. Well let me put you straight with all your worries. If you can find a better more resposive and highly effective mouse and keyboard package, please let me know because i dont think that there is one.
The keyboard itself has a very conscious design and was designed to impress, and for me it has done exactly...

Its Microsoft: You can't go wrong
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop keyboard , mouse by
Crisis143
Advantages: Excellent, sturdy construction, excellent battery life, very responsive
Disadvantages: No mouse side buttons
...This is the second wireless desktop that I have bought and I have been very impressed. The first thing that hit me was the quality of the construction; it's all very clean and not the least bit flimsy, which is of course important.
The keyboard boasts more useful buttons in place of the F buttons that never really get used, with functions such as save, undo and redo getting their own button. I must admit that I haven't got used to using them after having the keyboard for 4 months, but that's not really the keyboards fault. The larger buttons at the top allow you to open programs (you can customise these to whatever you want - more on that later) and control a music player. The keyboard has no caps of scroll lock indicators - which is fair enough as it is wireless - but Microsoft have taken note of this and included them...

Normal size keyboard, with loads of extras
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth 2.0 - keyboard , mouse by
milesthemole
Advantages: Packed with extra features while still no bigger than a normal keyboard
Disadvantages: Right-handed only mouse
...This is an excellent desktop set by Microsoft. For your money you receive both keyboard and optical mouse with wireless operation and also features such as media controls, a wheel on the keyboard for easy browsing and a right-left scroll on the mouse.
I'll start with the mouse. It is a nice chunky design, which feels nice and solid with a rubber-feel thumb rest. There are the standard two buttons on top, with a smooth wheel in between (no 'clicks' like normal mice), which also has a left-right motion for scrolling across the page. The smooth action of the wheel is slighty confusing at first, but I found it a great improvement, when scrolling through large documents at speed you don't need to feel the constant resistance and annoying sound that the conventional mouse would give you.
You have two extra thumb buttons, which are set...

The clever wireless desktop
Review of A4Tech Rechargeable Wireless Desktop Ergo A-shape Keyboard & Optical Mouse KBS-2348RP - keyboard , mouse by
mattwilko92
Advantages: Wireless, Rechargable, keyboard has lots of access keys, scroll on both kboard and mouse.
Disadvantages: None
...Im rating this wireless desktop 5star. And here whys :
Right now im typing on my 6month old A4 tech wirelesss desktop set-up. The recharable systme works very well due to the charger been built in to the wireless recivever device, getting its power from the keyobard and mouse sockets on the back of the computer. A very clever idea in my eyes. The mouse is optical, with a scroll wheel in between the left/right click button allowing you to scroll up/down pages very easily.
The keyboard itself is a normal QWERTY keyboard but with 2 hot keys in which you can choose what they access. There is also media player buttons (open media player, play/pause, stop, mute, vol up, vol down, next, back. There are also internet buttons on the keyboard, including home, refresh and stop. Not to mention the keys that take you to my computer, my...

Excellent wireless keyboard and mouse
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro 2.0 - keyboard , mouse by
celtxian
Advantages: Comfortable to use
Disadvantages: PC orientated, despite being usable on Mac
...I bought this wireless natural keyboard and mouse combination because I have arthritis and am prone to RSI. I wasn't disappointed. One's fingers fall more easily upon the keys, which have a good tactile response, not too hard, not too soft. Just right in fact.
In addition, the multitude of shortcut keys available make for quick and easy access to various options such as volume control for the PC speakers, opening and closing media drives (CD/DVD) and opening default folders such as My Documents.
With the included software, it is possible to change the default key allocations for both the options keys (along the top) or the function keys, as you wish. In fact, there is almost too much choice. Thankfully. it is easy to reset everything back to the default settings if you get confused, as I did initially.
The wireless connection...
