Wireless mouse and keyboard from Microsoft

Advantages: Easy to install and responsive
Disadvantages: No Caps Lock key and the mouse wheel slightly hard to control

...This is a review of the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800, which consists of a wireless keyboard and mouse. Having broken my previous keyboard (which I do with some regularity unfortunately), I needed a replacement and this was the one which Argos were promoting for 16.99 pounds at the time (although it's back up to 19.99 pounds at the moment) which seemed good value. The package consists of the wireless keyboard, the wireless mouse and also the dongle which plugs into the computer's USB port. The equipment is battery powered, the keyboard uses 2 AAA batteries, and the mouse 2 AA batteries, but these come supplied within the package. Installation for me at least was easy, just a matter of plugging the USB dongle in and my Windows 7 computer at least immediately installed the relevant software, and I was ready to go in minutes...

A Cute Little Mouse! (Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 4000)

Advantages: Easy to connect, easy to store, easy to use
Disadvantages: Dongle gets knocked easily, could be too small for some

...The Microsoft wireless mouse 4000 is quite an old model, although it still is available and would be the one I'd go for over others, having had two other Microsoft wireless mice and found this model to be the best of the three. The 4000 is a wireless mouse that's about 4 inches in length and about 2 inches in width. It connects to the laptop or computer via a dongle that plugs into one of the USB ports. The dongle itself is about 2 inches long and when not in use, it clicks into a space on the underside of the mouse. The dongle is very secure under there. My mouse is carried around in a laptop bag when it's not in use and it's never popped out of its holder once. Performance-wise it's a good sturdy mouse. Labtec Wireless Optical Mouse.

Advantages: No more wires.
Disadvantages: Eats the batteries.

.... and the optical-tracking technology provides smooth cursor movement on almost all surfaces and eliminates the hassles of mouse pad and cleaning old-fashioned mouse balls. The only downside to being wireless is that it takes batteries and with this one there is no off switch on the mouse, so when not using my computer I remove the batteries..... and have noticed by doing this the batteries do last longer, around 3 weeks for me with average usage. Overall this is a nice and neat looking little mouse and I prefer this much better than my old corded one, although I still have the old one just in case I run out of batteries when I dont have any !
