...Problems It is best to get these out of the way first, no? I have had several Xboxes. The first suffered from a "three-quarters" fault that meant it did not work at all. This was a well-known fault in the machines, and so even though the machine was out of warranty, Microsoft would fix it. However, in order to get it fixed, we had to go through an unnecessarily complex process with shipping labels, etc. (which did not work from the emails we received), but eventually we got it sorted. However, it took so long that we actually went out and bought another one! This second one had trouble with the power supply only two months after being purchased. Intermittently, the power supply would completely stop functioning, suggesting that there was something wrong with the wiring, but we never managed to figure out precisely what...

Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite - Best console ever made!

Advantages: Looks good/Good storage/Great games/Great graphics/can play films and videos/music/lots lots more.
Disadvantages: Very expensive accesories, especially the wireless adaptor

...the reason why I never even considered the PS3 when I was choosing my next-gen console, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that I would never get to play such games as Halo3 or Fable. The xbox live marketrplace is a great feature, it alows you to download themes, demos movie trailers,game trailers and even whole movies. Ofcourse some of this will come at a cost, which in most cases is a complete rip off if you are only buying things such as gamer pictures. This is the only real problem with the xbox 360, the price of the accesories :S. As with many things, microsoft liek to charge excessive prices for simple accesories and force you to buy their £60 versions by mnaking the cheaper ones not work. ...Having owned a Nintendo Wii for 9 months and an old Playstation 2, I had no need to buy a new console, then bang the Playstation went up in a puff of smoke. So what to buy next Playstation 3 or XBOX 360. When push came to shove it came down to price, at nearly £150 less the XBOX was the only real choice for our family. The excitement built as we unpacked and set up which was really easy with the quick set up guide and easy to understand manual in about 20 different languages. The XBOX was just what we'd expected fantastic graphics and superb sound easy to use and excellent value for money. The only drawback i've encountered is that it is aimed at the older gamer with lots of gory bloodthirsty games, if you've got to younger children this probably not the console for you. ...I am quite a demanding gamer.... but alas i have given in to the xbox 360 and have even bought one for my little brother. The best thing about the xbox 360is the quality and catalouge of games which it supports. Microsoft have hit the nail on the head with its graphics which I think are far better than its rival ( sorry sony ) . The set up of the console is extremely easy and wireless control pads stop us from tripping over it like we did with our old console. The cost of the xbox 360 is very competitive compared to rival game stations and depending on where you shop you can now get an extremely good deal including game bundles. XBOX 360 used to have some issues with the dreaded "red ring of death" ( console stops working) but we have had ours for two years and no such problems have arisen. ...Being a playstation boy I've never bothered with the Xbox, however through boredom and impulse I found myself buying an Xbox 360 one day. To coin a Carlsberg phrase, the 360 is probably the best console around. The graphics are second to none and until sony can get to grip with what they really want out of the PS3 the 360 will remain streets ahead. It is available from around £180 upwards depending on system and game bundles you purchase with it with again leaves it extremely better priced than the PS3. The controller whilst more bulky than sony controllers fits nicely in the hand and the rechargeable battery pack is a must get addition. I would say however that although there is a great variety of games available for the Xbox 360 it is undoubtedly at its greatest when playing shoot 'em up's, games such as Halo 3 and Gears...

...all sorts of horror stories about the reliability on the 360 & a few about the PS3, but to be honest I've not had a problem, I did get a red flash on the ring once a year or so ago, switched off, then back on again & it was fine & has been since (touch wood), no problems as yet on the PS3 but it's still fairly fresh out of the wrapper ( bought the slim model recently), one of my mates had a 360 that died after a year or so, but Microsoft covered it, I think they give a 3yr cover on the xbox against RROD these days (I guess they had to, as the stories that were flying about must have been putting everyone off the system). Maybe I've just been lucky with my consoles but @ the moment, they ALL still work, (Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Xbox, Wii, 360 & PS3) even my original Mega Drive (the dreamcast did need a minor repair which I did myself...
