...My Xbox 360 was originally repaired in September 2007. When it came back it seemed to work o.k. It was not until my kids got some new games last Christmas, that the Xbox was played with for any length of time. Within 2 days the Xbox started given the audio video error (all red lights lit). After buying a new AV lead, the same error flashed up then quickly turned to the 3 red lights error (the so called ring of death.). During this episode the Xbox also chewed up 2 new games. We were not very happy, especially as games are so expensive! I waited until after the holidays to contact Microsoft, to get the Xbox repaired. 3 phone calls and 2 emails later, I am still waiting for Microsoft to send me, via, email, the shipping labels. Microsoft have offered me a new controller by way of compensation but I will not be rushing out to buy the Elite... Read review

...The Xbox 360 is far more than a games machine. Some may say that it's a device that's allowed Microsoft to bring all manner of non-gaming, Microsoft-branded services and media functions into the living room (replete with tie-ins to Windows Media Center Edition and XP, naturally), but there's still no denying it's a capable beast. Basically a games console and a PC brought into one. It's slightly smaller than the original Xbox, and heavier. The huge power pack takes us back to the days of the Spectrum +3 - and then some! - and the controller is far better than it looked in the magasines. We should point out that it's the Full edition we're looking at here, replete with in-built 20GB hard drive and wireless controller. .... Not only does the xbox 360 deal with just the gaming side, but along with the console you can store a large amount of music and photos on the 360 which you can customise your different play lists. It also has a built in wi-fi so you can connect to the net and play against other gamers online, but this can only be done on certain games. There are so many accessories that can accompany the xbox 360, different controllers and all sorts of storage components. Myself as im a very kean racing driver i bought a streering wheel that was compatible to the 360 so i could really get the feeling when using the racing games. You may have thought now that sony have designed the new slim line ps2 that microsoft would have try to create their new console a little bit smaller, but no the xbox 360 still is about the same size and the same wieght, thats why... ...If like me you own a xbox 360 and a PC and tend to do a bit of gaming on each then this is definitely an essential. The xbox official controller gives you a very comfortable gaming experience with all the relevant buttons needed for gaming on the xbox but also being that is USB compatible it can be plugged into your windows xp computer. The software drivers to make it work on the pc are available from microsofts website to download. Once done you can program the buttons on the controller to interact with your favourite pc games. Its also a great choice as a 3rd or 4th xbox controller when you have 2 wireless ones for your best mate but then want to have the cheaper option for when you have a couple of other mates round. All in all a must for all gamers whether xbox or PC.... Read review

...What an excellent piece of kit this is! I play on my Xbox 360 for very long periods at a time and was getting increasingly infuriated at having to keep recharging my batteries so that I could keep using my wireless controller. The Microsoft Official Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit fits snuggly onto the wireless controller. It has a nice long lead that connects to the console via USB. If being restricted by the wire is not your thing seeing as you have wireless controller what you can do is connect the Microsoft Official Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit to your controller and console then turn your console off. The console goes into a sort of standby mode until the controller is fully charged when it switches itself off completly. This means that you can game all day with no problem then connect your controller up and charge it by night.... Read review

...When microsoft released the first xbox, it was widely criticised for the huge control pads that were supplied with the console. They have therefore taken a lot of time to ensure that the pads for the xbox 360 where perfect for the purpose they are intended. The lights that denote the battery levels (around the central button) can sometimes confuse new users but a quick look at the instructions will soon put things straight. The biggest problem with the handset for me (I spend a huge amount of time playing the console) was the battery life, this can however be offset by using the control pad in conjunction with the play and charge kit. This will allow the user to have endless hours playtime by connecting the cable to recharge the unit as you play, eliminating the need for new sets of batteries to be kept for emergencies. ...I bought this Powerful GAMING Machine 3 months after it came out and was amazed by what it could do. After the PS2 being released I thought it would take a lot to beat the Sony rival.. but I was pleased to see the large memory capacity and the fact you could play your own music on the console with games. It has wonderful graphics and brings gaming to another level. I recently have bought the Xbox 360 after being so pleased with this product. I would say though that the Xbox now is still better for the money than the Xbox 360. Microsoft were building this machine as they would a PC i think though, because there was not much style to it, but yet lots of memory and quite fast processor, with extremely good graphics. ...Basically i have recently purchased an XBOX 360 after a tought decision between the XBOX and the new Nintendo Wii. I am extremely glad i went with this console as it is superb in every aspect. Not only does it have brilliant graphics for every game designed the games themselves are so much better than anything you have ever played before. Where with some of the old consoles the in game camera follows the player restricting the gameplay view, the controller on the XBOX 360 has a joystick for movement of the character and another for movement of the camera. This is so beneficial for most games especially my favourite, Call of duty 2 as it gives you a 360 degree view of everything in game (hence XBOX 360).
