Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite - Best console ever made!

Advantages: Looks good/Good storage/Great games/Great graphics/can play films and videos/music/lots lots more.
Disadvantages: Very expensive accesories, especially the wireless adaptor

...the reason why I never even considered the PS3 when I was choosing my next-gen console, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that I would never get to play such games as Halo3 or Fable. The xbox live marketrplace is a great feature, it alows you to download themes, demos movie trailers,game trailers and even whole movies. Ofcourse some of this will come at a cost, which in most cases is a complete rip off if you are only buying things such as gamer pictures. This is the only real problem with the xbox 360, the price of the accesories :S. As with many things, microsoft liek to charge excessive prices for simple accesories and force you to buy their £60 versions by mnaking the cheaper ones not work. XBOX 360 40gb Console

Advantages: Great graphics, Great sound, easy set up
Disadvantages: Aimed at the older gamer

...Having owned a Nintendo Wii for 9 months and an old Playstation 2, I had no need to buy a new console, then bang the Playstation went up in a puff of smoke. So what to buy next Playstation 3 or XBOX 360. When push came to shove it came down to price, at nearly £150 less the XBOX was the only real choice for our family. The excitement built as we unpacked and set up which was really easy with the quick set up guide and easy to understand manual in about 20 different languages. The XBOX was just what we'd expected fantastic graphics and superb sound easy to use and excellent value for money. The only drawback i've encountered is that it is aimed at the older gamer with lots of gory bloodthirsty games, if you've got to younger children this probably not the console for you. ...I am quite a demanding gamer.... but alas i have given in to the xbox 360 and have even bought one for my little brother. The best thing about the xbox 360is the quality and catalouge of games which it supports. Microsoft have hit the nail on the head with its graphics which I think are far better than its rival ( sorry sony ) . The set up of the console is extremely easy and wireless control pads stop us from tripping over it like we did with our old console. The cost of the xbox 360 is very competitive compared to rival game stations and depending on where you shop you can now get an extremely good deal including game bundles. Advantages: Great hard drive capacity, top notch graphics,backwords compatible, downloadble content + loads more

Xbox 360 Halo 3 Limited Edition Console

Advantages: HDMI port, 20g HDD, exclusive Halo content
Disadvantages: HDMI cable not included

...HDMI this was how I felt when switching to the tube TV. *Summary* Microsoft have done extremely well with this console. Upon realizing that Halo 3 was going to be the same killer app (see first line) that the first Halo was for the orginal xbox they combined that foresight with the realization that they needed to both bridge the gap between 20g non-HDMI premium & the expensive HDMI ready 120g Elite. The Halo console includes Halo branding and customised design with the Elite's HDMI port (NB. the premium consoles have now started to be manufactured with HDMI ports) and the premium's smaller 20g HDD. Xbox 360, Great Console But Not Very Robust

Advantages: Wireless Controllers, HD Compatible
Disadvantages: Easily Breaks Due To Reduced Manufacturing Costs

...minutes game play my Xbox 360 froze, I assumed that it had just crashed and proceeded to reset the console, sfter turning it back on I got three flashing red lights instead of the green power lights, this is mentioned in the Xbox 360 manual as a General Hardware Failure, the console needed to be returned to Microsoft at a cost of £120.00 to be repaired. To cut a long story short, after a long investigation on my part, it turns out that Microsoft have basically cut corners in the manufacturing of the console and used a second rate conductor between the Processors and the heat sinks, over time this conductor wears out and the Processors overheat. For people with Computer Construction knowledge, this issue can be easily remedied by replacing this material with some Arctic Silver or something of similar spec at a cost of approx £7.00, but...

XBOX 360 A great console to buy.

Advantages: Good value for money, looks quite trendy
Disadvantages: live points can mean extra to pay out if you want to go online.

...In my opinion the XBOX 360 is a really good buy priced at around £200 if not less if your lucky, it's a console that you (or whoever you intend on purchasing one for) will get a lot of use out of. The arcade is the cheapest and it costs around £140. My son and my brother both had one each for christmas last year and they have been used pretty much constantly!! The games can be quite expensive but you can find some good bargains in some shops and you'll find pre-owned games a lot cheaper, sometimes saving atleast £20 off the usual selling price! They aren't that bad to look at either and do not look out of place under you TV.
