Disadvantages: Poor Software that comes with it (for communicating between the system and the PC- for playing and organising personal Audio), Speakers are dull and damage the overall look of the system

...I ordered K10D from Park cameras on Friday knowing that I would need it a week later in a job. Ordering was easy and I received an email confirming my order. However, as I had not yet heard back from Park Cameras about dispatch I contacted them on Tuesday afternoon. I found out that the item was now out of stock and they probably wouldn't get more. I explained my situation about needing a camera by Friday. They apologised and said that it was unacceptable that they hadn't contacted me about my order. I asked if they could do me a good deal on K20D. I googled K20D and it came out that SRS Microsystems was currently giving the best price on K20D. I expected Park Cameras to better or at least match this offer as a way of apologising their earlier bad customer service but they just stated that they would not be willing to match that offer...

A Sharp System For A Music Enthusiast

Advantages: Good sound quality, 5-drawer CD changer, attractive blue glow
Disadvantages: CD trays rather fragile, unattractive LED display colour scheme, lacking a couple of features on remote control

...When my small, portable CD player finally packed in after several years of use, I realised it was not only time to seek a new music playing device, but also advance onwards and upwards as far as sound quality and hi-fi features are concerned. So I bought this small micro-system, at a reasonable price of just a bit over £100. I have now had this system for over two years and have encountered very few problems with it. However, let us go through the bad points first: My first worry when I bought this system was the fragility of the CD-trays. Although there maybe 5 of these, because of this number, they have had to be placed one on top of the other, and are very thin. When opened, they hang by perhaps 3mm of plastic, and although I have encountered no actually problems with them, I would be willing to bet that one would snap off if...

A lot of student friends of mine rushed out in the Summer holidays and purchased a proffessional package like JBuilder or Microsoft's inferior Visual J++ for a tidy couple of hundred quid...but there is literally NO NEED to do this. Sure, you get a package which is neatly tarted up, but at the end of the day that is all you get - well, all you get for a beginner programmer. You will have no need of the tools etc. you have in this package, not for a long while after purchase so you might as well go for the entirely free alternative - and one which works equally well, and in some cases better. ...When my fiancé bought me this system for Christmas I was delighted. I wouldn't describe it as your average looking Hi-Fi as I find this term a little out-dated and my new system is far from it. Looking at a current issue of Argos (my faithful assistant) it's priced at £89.99 and is excellent value. Not only does it look good it's sound quality is sure to please anyone's ears. Being a micro-system it fits neatly into smaller crevices and with the speakers being of a pine effect it's less of an eyesore as some I have come across and it's more liable to fit in with the background. Beautiful noise maker?

...Wondering into Tesco's looking for a stereo was something I hadn't contemplated, but seeing as my previous hi-fi just went boom, I just had to go out and see what was on the market. There was a reasonable choice of mini-systems, micro-systems and stereos out there piled on the shelves, but I didn't know which one to go for. I looked at the price tags and finally settled on my choice of the Philips MC-145 for little under £40. I gladly handed over the money and then headed home. To my surprise it was a very light box. I hate heavy things so you'll be glad to know this wasn't a struggle to carry home at all, more awkward sized. Beautiful little system for little money

...I purchased the Awia XR-M78 in a bit of an emergency about 10 months ago as although it may not have a glorious name such as Sony or Kenwood, Awia appears to provide good equipment at unbeatable prices. And the M78 is no exception. It is a very expensive looking micro-system which I picked up for around £100 from empiredirect. It looks like at least £200+ worth of kit. The unit is finished in a sexy aluminium colour and the speakers have a light maple wood style finished with green 'dust covers' over the speakers. When these are removed, the actual speakers is ultra stylish with a chrome style tweeter and the woofer finsihed in silver. Each speaker is rated at 15W RMS, 30Watt in total between the two. The main system unit is very neat although it does have a rather big white remote control which does not look to belong...
