Hoover Cat & Dog - Miele TT5000

...Over the last year my hoover has gradually been losing its suction, and I was rather annoyed to discover a few weeks ago that it had almost completely stopped sucking. That would explain why I had to go over and over my carpet time and time again before it would look anywhere near clean. I am one of these people that never like to throw things away so I just struggled on with it. But now it has stopped sucking completely I guess I was left with little choice but to throw it away and buy a new one (it was about 5 years old anyway). So with a tear in my eye I took my old hoover down to the dump and set out to buy a new one.. After spending an hour or so hunting around the shops I came across the Miele Cat-Dog TT5000. Dyson a problem?..here's the Miele Solution

...I originally bought into the Dyson story, though have never been greatly impressed by my DC05. The build quality appears lacking with the hose connectors being rather fragile imho, and cleaning power not being too great. I already have a Miele washing machine and can vouch for the quality engineering in that. I therefore decided to replace my decrepid DC05 with a Miele. Miele have recently revamped their range with a higher power motor (up to 2200W). Being a man I'm all for extra horsepower! The new models are slowly starting to appear on the shop floor (mine was from John Lewis). The Miele range seems quite confusing in terms of specs until you realise it is all based on a few things. 1) Power 2) Colour of unit 3) air filter (Hepa, S-class etc) 4) number of accessories included. Review of Miele Solution HEPA 5000

My Mate Miele TT5000 (S5260)

Advantages: Great for pet hair removal, enough power to last the whole bag
Disadvantages: Possibly a bit overzealous with the pet hair removal

...Having made do with my old Sanyo cylinder vacuum for long enough, I finally bought a Miele Cat & Dog to see what all the fuss was about. I was not disappointed. It was so much quieter. Only when you turn up the power to 'lift the carpet' strength (and it does) did it sound like my old bone shaker. The 2200 watt motor means that there is enough sucking power for the life of the bag. My old machine lost suction even with a new bag after 10 minutes. Although more expensive, the larger capacity 4.5l bags take at least twice as long to fill, so that they work out about the same, pricewise, as my old vac bags. You can order 2 packs direct from Miele by phone for £15.75 incl p&p. Each pack contains 5 bags and a basic Super Air Clean filter. Bag removal is easy and clean as the bag opening automatically closes when you pull it...

A lovely machine with a great suck on it!

Advantages: Easy to use, effective and compact
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

...can imagine the mess. You can see where this is going now can't you? Both mom and I had new vacuum cleaners when we came here but by last year they were both well past their best to say the least. Maybe hovering up plaster bits isn't such a good idea then? Since the major building work is now finished and after a bit of discussion and investigation we decided to buy one good vacuum cleaner between us - we're not THAT interested in housework believe me! SO WHICH ONE DID WE GO FOR? Well we looked round places like Curry's, Comet and in the Argos catalogue and we kept coming back to the Miele. Miele S5281: Don't make a Miele of the housework

Advantages: Specialist cleaning, well made and reliable

...Well, my rubbish old vacuum eventually kicked the bucket so it was time for me to rush out and buy (well, add to my credit card) my beautiful new Miele vacuum having heard rave reviews about them from friends. I checked the which guide and other review sites and found that they were rated very highly which confirmed my choice of make and that just left the model to choose. I decided on the S5281 as it seemed a good, powerful, all-rounder. Then came the hunt to find the best price or deal, having not spent any money for while since having a baby I thought that a purchase of nearly £200 online would guarantee me some good discount, cashback or loyalty points. I found the vacuum for between £195 and £200 in many places and also found it in Argos for £175 - same model number but a slightly different name. I was a bit suspicious so...

  My Miele is a pearl of a cleaner

Clean up with Miele S 380

I purchased mine to replace a cylinder style cleaner that I use for my static caravan. **The product** The vacuum cleaner is a fairly basic model, it does not come with many attachments, i.e. No pet hair brush, or fragrance pocket for those little air fresheners. The cleaner is fairly quiet running in comparison to my upright cleaner (Dyson) which I use at home. It is ideal for carpeted floors, but I have to admit that I do not find it particularly efficient on longer piled carpets as it is hard work to manoever over anything other than a medium thickness carpet.
