My Marvelous Miele
Review of Miele S381 Light BLUE by
mrbonner
Advantages: Quiet, Excellent hardfloor cleaning, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Not so great on pet hair, eats bags!!
...To cut to the chase me & vacuum cleaners don't get on! I break them or they are just not right for me! I recently purchased a Dyson dco7 upright It's a superb vacuum but i think they have used the decommisioned concorde engines in them as the noise was horrendusly loud & it was too big & bulky so i needed a different model.
I prefer a cylinder type cleaner & had heard great things about the Miele range & i have not been dissapointed. The above disadvantages refer more to my choice of model than Miele as a brand. The model in question is the Miele S381. It has an 1800 watt motor & is refered to on Miele's website as being bahama blue in colour. It seems to be the most basic cleaner in the Miele line up & cost £99 from Currys. I have looked in several other stores & have not seen this particular model anywhere elese.

Dyson a problem?..here's the Miele Solution
Review of Miele Solution HEPA 5000 by
cootuk
Advantages: Miele quality and longevity
Disadvantages: Price
...I originally bought into the Dyson story, though have never been greatly impressed by my DC05. The build quality appears lacking with the hose connectors being rather fragile imho, and cleaning power not being too great.
I already have a Miele washing machine and can vouch for the quality engineering in that. I therefore decided to replace my decrepid DC05 with a Miele. Miele have recently revamped their range with a higher power motor (up to 2200W). Being a man I'm all for extra horsepower! The new models are slowly starting to appear on the shop floor (mine was from John Lewis).
The Miele range seems quite confusing in terms of specs until you realise it is all based on a few things.
1) Power
2) Colour of unit
3) air filter (Hepa, S-class etc)
4) number of accessories included.
Some models allow you to upgrade the air filter...

Clean up with Miele S 380
Review of Miele S 380 by
brittle1906
Advantages: Quiet running & easy to use
Disadvantages: Not up to tougher cleaning
...Review of Miele S 380 cleaner
This is a bagged vacuum cleaner from the manufacturer, Miele. The Ciao photograph shows the product in red however my own is 'Bahama Blue'. I purchased mine to replace a cylinder style cleaner that I use for my static caravan.
**The product**
The vacuum cleaner is a fairly basic model, it does not come with many attachments, i.e. No pet hair brush, or fragrance pocket for those little air fresheners. The cleaner is fairly quiet running in comparison to my upright cleaner (Dyson) which I use at home. It is ideal for carpeted floors, but I have to admit that I do not find it particularly efficient on longer piled carpets as it is hard work to manoever over anything other than a medium thickness carpet. The cleaner is useful for quick clean ups, when you just want a rapid tidy up rather than a full...

Miele is miles better
Review of Miele S 5210 by
pompey_jon
Advantages: Powerful, buld quality compact, reliable
Disadvantages: Requires bags, manoureavbility
...Having moved into a new house we decided to ditch our old Vax vacuum and purchase a replacement.
Being the type of person I am I looked at the options available. After some initial product screening I decided to concentrate on Miele or a Dyson. I was able to test drive a Dyson DC08 and a Miele S5210 before purchasing.
I found the carpet cleaning performance of the Miele to be far superior and it felt as if it had much better all-round pickup. This was true for dust, hair and general carpet fluff! I would say that Hardwood/tile cleaning for both was level pegging.
Reliability was also a factor in my decision. Miele have an excellent brand reputation and offer a 2-year guarantee to back this up. They do state that the vacuum is designed for a lot longer operation than this.
When looking at the quality of S5210 the Miele I...

Disappointed with Miele
Review of Miele K2318 by
Reviewer2005
Advantages: Looks lovely and is very spacious
Disadvantages: Doesn't work correctly
...Lewis, we found a Miele fridge (I'm sorry I can't remember the cost). The name Miele was one which had always been drummed into me as being expensive, good quality, reliable etc etc. This particular fridge was undamaged but end of line and therefore not quite as pricey. We decided to get it.
You always seem to look more closely when you get things home and over the next few weeks we admired our fridge. It had so much space inside. We did have a bit of trouble fitting it though. This was our fault because the fridge was 600mm wide and the gap wasn't. A slight adjustment to the kitchen cupboards along one wall didn't take long (for my dad and husband!).
Before the 2 year warranty was up, a strange smell was coming from the fridge. Nothing was mentioned in the problem solving section of our manual. When the engineer came out he showed us...

One man and his Miele
Review of Miele S 712 by
adon30
Advantages: Superb suction, adjustable for different surfaces, robust feel
Disadvantages: No HEPA filter, Suction can be too strong, bags(?)
...I purchased one of these after the Dyson started to give up. It lasted well but the suck started to go, even after replacing the filters, and the plastic joints had started to snap. This led me to look for a replacement. After having a search round I decided that I fancied a change from the bizarre looking Dyson. The Hoovers, Panasonics and the Miele's were browsed through. Pound for pound however the Miele stood out as a front runner. The usual price of £200 would of discouraged me. But with an extra £40 off at Curry's it was not a bad deal at £159.99.
Mine is actually a 2000W (max) so I think the description on here is wrong. It is also a sleek metallic titanium colour and does not look bad at all. Much better than the blue in the picture.
Out of the box it looks fairly good. It all appears to be built sturdily with a good strong...

Miele magic
Review of Miele W526 by
lollie67
Advantages: Superbly built, long guarantee
Disadvantages: small loading drum
...I've been through lots of washing machines in my time. In my poorer newly married stage I bought cheap and cheerful and because there wasn't really that much laundry to do my first washing machine lasted about 7 years (it was an Indesit).
After the children arrived we had even less money and in the 8 years since there have been mud encrusted rug rats in the house we've been through 3 'economy' washing machines! When my last one packed up after leaking through the base, and trying to give me electric shocks when I switched it on, I decided that we must invest in a better quality machine.
I trawled the web for advice and Miele seemed to be the best solution in terms of money and build. When I went to buy one I was advised to go for the novotronic W526. This was evidently because when the assistant asked me if I used a machine...

MIELE, MIELE, MIELE, OI OI OI
Review of Miele W435 WPS by
SUPERSPUD
Advantages: Quiet, 'Time Left' display
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Well I never thought I would find myself being all enthusiastic about a washing machine! I would hardly describe myself as a domestic goddess!
Although this machine is incredibly expensive (mine cost approx £700, I would say the 10 year guarantee is worth that on it's own!) it is absolutely worth the money, in my opinion. After having nothing but trouble with Hotpoint machines (not to mention their stroppy engineers) I decided to invest in a Miele. WHAT AN INVESTMENT!
Having 3 children my washing machine gets a massive amount of use which is no problem for the Miele.
The noise that comes from the machine is so minimal that if it wasn't for my youngest son standing in front of the machine circling his head round along with the drum I would forget it was on. Gone are the days of my machine hopping it's way along...

Me and My Miele
Review of Miele K2214S by
delawney
Advantages: Sexy, energy efficient, mine
Disadvantages: Little more expensive than other fridges
..., separate ones.
So for the first time I got my own fridge.
I knew what I wanted. I wanted something that would have as good an energy rating as possible, would have plenty of space for all those lovely veggies I like to eat, that would be easy to clean, would display the temperature and would be reliable.
Enter the Miele K 2214 S. It's energy rating is A, which is as good as you can get. This means it will use near the minimum necessary electricity - thus saving you money and being good for the environment.
It's a fairly standard size fridge and will probably fit in the majority of standard fridge-sized spaces. It is not slimline.
When it arrived, getting it out of it's packaging was fairly awkward - it's a big old thing, you know - but no more than you would expect for an item of its size. Turning it on for the first time...

Miele Revolution 500 Is A Cool Dustbuster
Review of Miele Revolution 500 by
fallen121
Advantages: Stylish, powerful, quiet, full of features.
Disadvantages: Expensive, not sold everywhere.
...Today my husband and woke at 7am on a Saturday and drove 15 miles into Edinburgh to purchase a Miele Revolution 500. The reason? We already have a Miele and know and trust the name. Plus we don't mind paying for such good quality. And lastly, you can't buy these babies in Argos or Index or many of the High Street stores, there it seems to be Dyson or nothing!!
The Revolution 500 is less garish than many of its brightly coloured counterparts. It comes in a very stylish metallic light green or gray effect. It's also smaller than its predecessor in our household, the S228 Air Clean. Be prepared to pay for it though, I have heard of people getting it for as little as £200, but we paid £239, which is just £1 under the RRP. We bought it in Grays in George Street, a hardware store. They are one of only a handful of stores on the East Coast...
