...~ Milk Tray ~ Milk Tray chocolates are one of my favourite boxes you can buy from Cadbury?s. This week one of our colleagues brought a box in for us all to share. We usually have biscuit Fridays but this week it was chocolate. I only ever see boxes like this really at Christmas time. We never buy boxes otherwise and I hadn?t had Milk ray for years. Due to the demand and high quality the box was pretty much gone by noon. You have to be quick in this place, as soon as you?re offered you have to take one or you won?t get a chance. Even those on a diet can?t resist one of these cheeky choc?s. ...it was more expensive than the other milks, only by a pound but I am sure this would soon add up if your baby was solely bottle fed. The tub isn't anything fancy, it's not all bright and colourful with pictures of babies on the front like other formula tubs, instead it is a simple blue tub with a white polar bear on. It does not say 'formula milk' on it but 'breastmilk substitute' which suggests it is in a different league to the other formulas on the market. The tub itself has the information about how to make up a feed and how much your baby should be having. The lid is resealable with a plastic lid that clips back down. It is useful as it keeps the powder dry and sealed, but the lid is so very hard to open. I want my milk convenient, pre-packaged, and as far away from my boobs as it can possibly be. That?s why I went for SMA. Ignoring the Dictatorial-midwife 'BREAST IS BEST' brigade, I chucked my baby on the bottle after seven weeks. Now, first of all, SMA isn't just one kind of milk but several, and the kind I'm reviewing right now is SMA Progress, a follow on milk aimed at children from 6 months to two years. It comes in a nice big tin, 900g in fact, with a red plastic lid, a tin largely decorated in red with pictures of happy children (obviously drugged). Review of SMA Milk

Cows Milk or Cow & Gate Milk

Advantages: added vitamins andminerals
Disadvantages: expensive

...Cow & Gate Follow on Milk... Jack is now an unbelievable 20 months old and I had stopped giving him any sort of formula milk when he was 1 year and moved him on to full fat cows milk. However he seemed to get cold after cold so we decided that maybe he needed the added nutrients that formula milk would offer him. We reverted back to formula milk several months ago and surprisingly he hasn't had a cold since so perhaps it has helped. When Jack was younger and on only formula milk for his food we used SMA milk but when looking at the price of SMA compared to Cow & Gate in the shops, most stores were selling Cow & Gate at around 25 to 30 pence cheaper. Review of Cow & Gate Infant Milks

Milk Bottles - Bottles Of Milk!

Advantages: Cheap Price, nice packaging.
Disadvantages: High in sugars.

...Asda have a long term price off where you can buy three bags of these sweets (and others in the range) for £1.00 or buy each bag separately for around 35-40p (price varies). The sweets are all decorated nicely in clear bags (so you can be tempted by the appearance of the sweets) and with miscellaneous things on them. This one has a cow (just in case you didn't see the word milk!). The bag is 95g and for your money you will normally get between 35 & 40 milk bottles just under an inch high, this is a great amount for an adult or even to share amongst little ones. Each bag contains 316 calories & 50.7g of sugars so too many of these will definitely contribute to your next trip to the dentist. I would advise eating these in moderation and don't give them to your kids too frequently (well unless they've still got their milk teeth...

Milk the Cows

...I do love milk especially when it is poured generously on a large bowl of cereal (preferably coco pops) I have found recently that this Cravendale milk is much nicer to use than the normal local farm milk. It costs only a fraction of the price more and for a 2-litre bottle you will be paying around the £1.25pence mark. This is about only 10pence more than getting the other cheaper milk. The taste seems to much more nicer and less gacky than the other milk that I used to use. This particular Cravendale milk comes in the same ranges you would expect from milk. This is skimmed, semi skimmed and whole milk. I always go for the semi skimmed but I have tried the whole milk and this i think is just as nice in flavour if not better than the semi skimmed. Having a browse in the station's newsagent's fridge, my eyes immediately fell on the collection of Yazoo drinks. I used to drink these all the time when I was little - my nan and grandad used to buy the tiny little bottles which would be finished with only 2 sucks through the straw!
