Milky Way - A good value snack?

Advantages: Quite cheap, tastes ok
Disadvantages: Not the best of the cheap bars, not enough chocolate

...I hadn't had a Milky Way bar in years, but I recently bought one as a snack, while out shopping. I remember liking them as a kid, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Milky Way bars are small chocolate bars made by Mars (not Nestle as shown in the description). Taste The Milky Way is a chocolate coated bar with whipped centre, they don't actually say what it is, but its actually nougat. It is like the soft part of a Mars bar, but lighter and slightly less flavoured, making the nougat light enough to float in water (I don't know why this is important, but they mentioned it on an advert once). I know a couple of people who strongly dislike Milky Ways - mainly due to the texture. So, I don't recommend buying a multipack if you have never tried one before. Yummy milky, crispy treats!

Advantages: Not as fattening as standard chocolate bars
Disadvantages: Bit too pricey for what they are

...mikly-way coloured wrapper with a picture of the crispy rolls on the front of the packet. The packet itself is a bit shorter than a standard sized biro pen and it about 2cm wide. The packet itself is easy to tear open. ***APPEARANCE/TASTE*** In one packet you get 2 crispy roll fingers. They are about 8cm long are are covered in a textured milk chocolate all over. They are round in shape and are thicker than a cadburys biscuit finger. As you bite into the crispy roll, you do get a crisp felling beneath your teeth and this reveals the milky center to the cirspy roll and the biscuit surrounding the crispty center. It tastes chocolatey but also ahve the lovely milky taste to compliment the chocolate and the crispy layer under-neath the chocolate just adds to the yummy flavour and texture. Milky Way Crispy Rolls... Yummy!

Advantages: Creamy, light, delicious chocolate, cheap
Disadvantages: They are quick small, so being the pig that I am, I always want another!

...If you want a light, delicious, chocolately snack, then I recommend putting this chocolate 'bar' to the top of your list. Designed in a blue and white wrapper, with the legenday 'Milky Way' logo, you can find this confectionary in newsagents and supermarkets, although they definitely aren't are widely distributed as a few years ago. I generally find these are easily found in small, independent newsagents rather than your big Tescos and Asda superstores (I have no idea why, anyone care to enlighten me?). About five years ago they used to cost a mere 20p! Unfortunately, as things do, the prices went up, and now you can pick them up for about 36p. Thought wow, my hubby loves Jelly Babies so we shall try these little ones out. FIrstly Bassett's Milky Babies are made by Cadbury Trebor Bassett, yes they are made by the famous chocolate factory Cadbury's. These little babies were made in Holland on behalf of Cadbury Trebor Bassett. Bassett's originally launched there Jelly Babies in 1918 . If You Like MilkyBar , You'll Love These!

Advantages: Tasty , Creamy , Good Value For Money

...I recently tried these milkybar deserts and fell in love with them instantly. The reason for me buying these pots were because they were on offer ; buy one get one free , which meant I had 4 pots (2 packs) for £1.09 from my local Spar. What a bargain I thought. I was meant to be on a diet and you know how you are when your on a diet , constantly thinking "can't have this , can't have that" and then you end up craving something your not " supposed" to eat , and that is what happened to me! The MilkyBar deserts are made by Nestle who make the white chocolate bar 'milkybar'. These deserts are only sold in certain countries such as the Uk , Spain , India and Ireland to name a few. Because I bought mine when it was on a buy one get one free offer , I didn't know how much they usually cost , but I looked on a few supermarket websites...

A source of white milky goodness

...I am always on the look out now for some nice chocolaty treats for my 1 year old son now and having eaten the numerous Cadburys chocolate button Easter eggs he was given at Easter, I thought he should get some variety and maybe try some nice white chocolate for a change as this has always been a favourite with his mum! Looking at the numerous chocolate products in Tesco, the only thing I could find suitable that he could feed himself without choking were a packet of Nestle Milky Bar Buttons retailing at 34p a packet. Not a huge packet but then my son only has one or two a day as a treat at the moment. I counted at least 30 buttons in the packet, which will last us a fair old few days. ...Who can remember the milky bar kid? I certainly can. I used to love the adverts. " The milkybars are on me" Milky bar chocolate is still around in the shops and is a favourite of my small sons. Milkybar has now produced a mousse using real milky bar chocolate. I wanted something different for my boys to have as a dessert and noticed these mousses in my local supermarket. I was hoping they would like it as not all mousses based on chocolate bars actually taste of that certain chocolate bar. I needn't have worried, both boys loved the pudding. Milky NO Way

Advantages: It looks quite clever in the jar - if you are 3 years old
Disadvantages: Even 3 year olds think it's disgusting

...First of all, I am proud to say that I did not actually buy this stuff. A friend of mine gave me a jar. I don't know why she had to inflict it on me and mine, perhaps she thought she was doing me a favour, or perhaps she knew then what I know now and was just desperate to get it out of her house. I am keen to announce now, however, that if anyone ever tries to pass a jar of this disgusting so-called chocolate type spread off on me again, well....I'll do something uncalled for. I love Milky Way bars and so do my chldren, so when we got this home we were eager to have a try of it on our teatime toast, but I'm afraid the original product just does not translate into a spread. Even my (then) 3 year old didn't like it, and she is one of those rare children who will eat anything, especially if it looks like sweets and has stars...
