I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Beneath her in an underground lab called 'The Hive', run by the international corporation called Umbrella, a virus has been unleashed turning all of it's medical research staff into flesh eating zombies. To be sure the virus doesn't escape and spread, Alice and a special task force including Matt (Eric Mabius) must enter and completely shut down the main computer of 'The Hive' named the 'Red Queen'.
Alice barely escapes with her life and makes it back to the mansion where she is taken along with Matt by a group of white lab coats where they are separated to be experimented on. Isn?t Christmas great, you get stuff you would never be able to justify usually, like a DVD which replaces a video. ?The Fifth Element? was on my ?video to DVD? replacement list being, in my opinion (that?s what counts on this page) one of the most original pieces of Sci-fi ever to be produced. I?ve just watched it; I wasn?t disappointed, totally justified.
I like to think I have a good imagination (I am thin, good looking, and rich. Told you it was a good one), I love fantasy stories, Sc-Fi and some horror (though it has to be done well). When fifth element was released, I almost dismissed it, starring ?Bruce Willis, a ?Hollywood hero type? (love Bruce), Milla Jovovich, a model and a Stand Up comedian, Chris Tucker. Typical Hollywood strategy this, and usually a recipe for disaster (Species), as one talented...

...My recent quest for FREE DVD hire I visited and many DVD web sites that offered a free trial. Now call me tight (no that wasn?t an invite), but I like bargains and freebies and am not ashamed to say so.
My quest took me to enough sites to hire DVDs for about four months so far (with plenty to come too). My latest free DVD site also happens to be the best I have tried for several reasons (see rest of op); the site in question is Blockbuster.co.uk.
Other sites that I have had free rentals from and then cancelled have all been similar, two weeks free trial with two DVD?s per time ? which in effect gives you about four free DVD?s. With Blockbuster?s things are different slightly ? which add a great deal of benefit to us the customer. Milla is back with a vengeance
Advantages: Milla Jovovich
Disadvantages: Very cheesy
...If you are a fan of the first resident evil film then this is one for you. Even if you haven't seen the first one then you should still go and see it but preferably after you have seen the first one.
Milla Jovovich is back as Alice, she has awoken in Racoon city and is unsure what has happened. The scientists have been playing around with her again and many other things. Racoon city has been taken over by zombies after they have been let out of the hive. People above ground in Racoon city do not realise what happened in the hive and are defenceless to the zombies.
The umbrella corporation are trying to cover their tracks by evacuating the healthy people and containing the rest. They have escorted all the 'important people' e.g. scientists out already apart from one and his daughter.
Before Alice arrives back on the scene there...

...Before I bought this DVD player Id never really owned a DVD player before. I had however had and still do have a ps2 on which I used to play my DVDs.
I never really went and still don’t go on this so much so I was going to sell it and buy a DVD player.
In the end I decided to just keep the ps2 and to get a cheaper DVD player than I was looking for in the first place.
The main reason why I wanted a new DVD instead of the one in the ps2 was so I could play divx format DVDs on it. The DVD player in a ps2 doesn’t recognise this format and scene as I have several divx movies already on disk and on my laptop to put onto disk then I wanted a DVD player that would recognise and play this format.
Another plus to this format is that it saves space on disks as it compresses movies into smaller file sizes without compromising...

DVDs for a fixed monthly fee...
Advantages: Simple, easy to use, quick delivery, good customer service
Disadvantages: May not have all the titles you are after
...I was using one of those sites that offer you points or a few cents for trying out free offers (don't recall which one exactly, may have been 'IPoints'...) and it had Lovefilm's FREE two week trial.
I signed up free for the minimal membership which allows you to keep one DVD at a time for as long as you want (with no late fees!) and although I had to give my credit card information, the agreement states that you will not be charged anything if you cancel within the two week period..
The membership ranges from £9 to £15 per month now; I do not recall how much it cost mid last year to be honest.. The other memberships get you 2 and 3 DVDs at a go.
I added the films I was interested in to some sort of 'wishlist'. The idea is that they send you one DVD, you keep it for as long as you want, then they send you the next one on your list...
