A trip to the Island outdoor shop was necessary and after trying on several different makes I finally opted for a pair of Merrell walking shoes. King Edward Street has come along nicely. Greenwoods still being the best shop to procure suits. The refurbishment of Woolworths has been good. A few years ago now I purchased a Eurohike 220 Dome tent for £39.99 from Milletts outdoor/camping store for the purpose of my music festival-going activities. At the time I thought I was being clever by buying a red one – “unusual” I thought “everyone else’s will be blue or green” I thought. On getting to the campsite at Reading Festival I realised it may just not be so easy to find my little red tent among the mere 10,000 or so other red tents among the 50 000+ campers – dammit! Ramble away

Advantages: quite a good range
Disadvantages: can be a bit pricey

...a matter of a few months carrying shopping in it, the Milletts bag has lasted over a year now, so that gets a thumbs up. On the whole, I've found the staff to be pleasant and friendly, reasonably aware of what they are selling, and reasonably helpful. Millets isn't perfect though - they don't carry wax jackets at time of writing, and they don't cater for the more unusual end of outdoor pursuits, its middle of the road stuff. The quality however is good and the prices acceptable on most things. Well worth a look....

He also loves millett sprays and the parrot treat sticks of fruit and seed also available in all pet stores. Fresh water is essential and should be changed twice a day. The birds can be rather indiscriminate where they poo so if you see the water has become contaminated, change it. There can be unwanted bugs lurking in there which may make your pet sick.
