Milton Hotel Rome - Great location & price but disappointing

Advantages: Great location, breakfast and excellent transport links
Disadvantages: The noise, the bad service and inappropriate staff

...I recently returned from a 5 night break in Rome with a girlfriend, staying at the Hotel Milton - at the time of booking we got a real bargain as the whole trip cost £240 including BA flights. Before travelling I confirmed the reservation by email, and the email I received was friendly and professional. When we arrived we found the hotel very easy to lcoate, literally across the road from the metro (Manzoni stop), and the staff very understanding of two weary travellers and their lack of Italian! The lobby area had an internet point for guests (which we did not use), but was undergoing refurbishment so it was quite messy. We were given a map of Rome and the reception staff marked the main sites and facilties. Advantages: Well situated, Affordable, Good Facilities, Nicely Decorated

It just so happened that the week after Valentines was half term week at the local schools which meant I could take some of the holidays I had remaining (as I work in a school) so my husband and I both booked the Monday off work. I didn?t tell him where we were going or what we were doing I just told him that I was booking a Valentines surprise for us. Now I just needed to keep my mouth shut and not give the game away, which for a big mouth like me was a challenge in itself! Ozzfest 2001 - Milton Keynes Bowl

Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: Expensive food and water

...performances with only short breaks as the two stages alternated. THE VENUE The Ozzfest was set in the Milton Keynes Bowl. For a one-day event like the Ozzfest I cant think of a better venue. The grass slopes that face the bowl centre (which houses the two stages at one end with the shops and beer tents a little to the sides) make the perfect place to relax and take a break, and from here you can even see the stages quite well. The centre of the bowl is more than big enough to accommodate the huge crowds that danced in front of the stage. THE ORGANISATION The organisation was excellent, the main things you might worry about at an event like this are the toilets and the food. Well these were both taken care of pretty well. Allmost all the toilets were the new kind with sinks and proper cubicles (and urinals in the mens). Dont expect them...

...Snozone Milton Keynes is a fantastic facility to be enjoyed by a variety of different people. Unfortunately there are many people who feel that it is expensive and nothing compared to a real snow slope- but what can you expect from an artificial slope? We're not talking about a mountain, and in all honesty I feel that Snozone in Milton Keynes offers a brilliant day out for beginners to intermediate skiers/boarders. The slope can get busy in peak times (evenings and weekends), so avoid these times if possible, during the day is the best time to go for recreational time. Lessons however are Snozone's best product. The customer service team in the call centre were very knowledgable on the lessons offered and were very helpful. ...When I lived in Northamptonshire I visited Milton Keynes quite often. I went there basically for the shopping. It really is impressive. Firstly there is a huge shopping mall where you can shop til you drop and most of the big High Street names are there. What else do I like about Milton Keynes ? In a way I think it is rather like Singapore without the sun. It is arguably the most impressive of Britain's new towns and really has been well planned. Most of the facilities are very modern including the railway station and the housing is very good indeed. Critics say its lacks character and there may be some truth in that but it is I believe a good place to live and work in. The Japanese certainly think that for there has been quite large inflows of investment from Japan into Milton Keynes.The Open University is located there...

We arrived at 9am and were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who gave us some forms to fill in. (For health and medical reasons). ...The Quality Hotel in Milton Keynes is a super hotel to stay in even if it is a bit pricey for Milton Keynes, not that i've got anything against milton Keynes before you all start on me!! I had a double room with single occupancy and this cost me £85 per night and didn't even include Breakfast - this was another £10 if you wanted it. However i was working in Wolverton and the Tesco there did a full english breakfast with a coffee for £3.00. So unfortunatly i can not comment on the standard of the food made available for breakfast. ...As a resident in Milton Keynes I visit the Centre MK on a regular basis, and thought I would update you on what's happening. Firstly the Centre MK is all on one level, which makes it easier for wheelchair users and mums with buggies to get around. The Centre is split into 4 main shopping areas and 2 leisure areas: The original part which is about 1/2 a mile long with two main walk ways either side with Marks and Spencer one end and John Lewis the other. A large square area near to John Lewis called Middleton Hall is where the Christmas displays & exhibitions take place. The Christmas display always delights young and old. The Food Hall which is adjacent to the main building on the open market side contains mainly Supermarkets and some specialist food & wine stores.
