...The Ipod mini was one of the first Ipods, The 4GB version is able to hold 1000 songs and is non - colour but don't let that put you off. This IPod was designed to hold songs there are other little features such as games but it was for music this makes it ideal for you, if all you need is a reliable MP3 able to hold a large amount of music. Another bonus point of course is that the Ipod Mini's are now dated and so can be bought very cheap some can even be seen selling for around 10 pounds. Reliabilty is great on the Ipod Mini's I've had mine since it was released in 2004 and in the four years (nearly 5) nothing has gone wrong. So if your looking for a cheap, reliable, music player then the Ipod mini's for you....

iPod Mini Original 4GB - Largely a great player

Advantages: Small, lightweight; funky colours; easy to use
Disadvantages: Battery runs low quite quickly; ear phones leak a lot of sound

...I got the first version of the iPod mini (with 4GB of storage) about two months before the newer version of the iPod mini came onto the market (with 6GB storage). Had I have known that a newer version was going to be released I would have waited a little longer to get it because I paid £179 for my iPod mini which was then reduced to £139 when the newer version came available, which itself was selling for £169 (and it was better than the one I had bought)! Other than the cost factor, the iPod mini 4GB seems to have a very poor battery life, despite claiming to last up to 8 hours (for the original version of the iPod mini, the one I own). I would very much doubt if it comes close to that. I travel a 1 hour 15 minute door to door journey almost every day and from being fully charged at the start, by the time the I'm back home again...

4Gb pink mini ipod

Advantages: Small light and easy to use

...Recently brought a mini ipod after much deliberation, still felt it was a litlle expensive for what it was but after spending a year using a sub-standard mp3 player with a mere 64mb it seamed like a good option. Took it out of the box and of course did not read the instructions was too excited and was a little confused by the click wheel but was amazed at the look of it, it was sleek and gorgeous. Another thing that i failed to realise was that it required a USB 2.0 port in order to use it and went into mild panic about not being able to use it. The mini ipod will work on a normal USB port however it is much slower and when the battery doesnt last very long and you need to charge it it is frustrating. The menus are clear and easy to use. Pink mini ipod 4 GB

Advantages: It has plenty of space for songs and is a fantastic colour
Disadvantages: The battery life is a bit poor

...plenty of space on this ipod even though its only 4GB. I love music and have loads of songs on my ipod but have never reached the limit. I dont see the point in paying hundred more so you can have 50 thousand songs, nobody needs this many songs. As well as being a great gadget, its a fantastic colour, suitable for any girly girl. the mini ipod comes with earphones, but I would also recomend purchasing speakers. This way you can listen to music (eg at home) without using earphones. Again, I would recomend getting the cheaper speakers as these work just as well as the apple ones. As Im clumsy, I drop my ipod quite a lot, and found out it can scratch quite easily. I would definently recomend getting a pouch or cover for it. I think the best ones are the clear jelly type ones as you can still see the colour through it. However...

...The first I want to say about this product is how long the battery lasts. I was playing around with this thing for a whole 2 days without the battery even going down under half. I later realised that the battery life was up to 45hours which is pretty incredible, considering it is longer than the Ipod touch. So 4GB may not seem to much to a lot of people, but for those who don't have a HUGE music collection, but want just enough to be able to store a few hundred tracks, this mp3 player has an ideal capacity. ...the prove invaluable and after the first few days you will wonder how you lived without, especially if you use public transport or walk to work or school. Also great for walking the dog or at the gym! Most places are selling the 4GB for £179 and the Mini 6GB for £169 so its only 10 pounds more but obviously doesn't hold as many songs. Overall I would definately recommend getting one - just try not to leave it in your back pocket!!...

You can imagine how furious this makes me, literally weeks after I got mine a new and better one is released for LESS than what mine cost. Im positively raging about it after all the fuss that I went through to get the thing in the first place! The 4gb model has 8 hours of battery life, the 6gb model has 18. On the plane to New York I accidentally turned it on in my bag, so when I cane to use it the battery was almost dead. Since when I use the hold function to prevent it happening again. You turn your iPod on by pressing on the click wheel, which is extremely sensitive. To scroll through your songs you roll your finger around the clickwheel and press the centre button to make a selection. The iPod comes with ear phones, which are quite rubbish...
