Great introduction to Mac OS / Home Theater PC
Review of Apple Mac mini Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz by
alphamusic
Advantages: Price, performance, design, OSX 10.5, Windows with Bootcamp, HTPC, remote controll
Disadvantages: Limited upgradability
...I recently upgrade from a 1.5Ghz G4 stealth upgrade Mac Mini to the Core 2 Duo 1.83 Ghz mini and I am very impressed with the performance improvements. With Xbench the Core 2 Duo was approximately twice as fast as the G4 on many tests.
The Mac Mini has a very small form factor 6.5"x6.5"x2" which makes it well suited as a Home Theater PC (HTPC) or for desktop use where space is at a premium. I primarily use the mini as an everyday computer with some HTPC use. The computer looks at home both on the desk and under a TV.
The Mac Mini is an excellent entry level computer or an introduction to Macs. This is not to say the computer is limited in capabilities. The only real limitation over the mini's bigger brothers, the iMac and Mac Pro is the fact that it's expandability is more restricted. The stock laptop hard drive is slower than desktop...

MINIS REALLY RULE
Review of Rover Mini 1.3 by
andy500
Advantages: An excellant, reliable, fun car which is relatively cheap to run.
Disadvantages: Sportspack option causes less nimble handling and some owners have problems with the steering veering to the left.
...The 1.3 Mini Cooper is an excellant car. However, is it really a Mini.
I must confess I own 2 Minis, an X-reg and a C-reg. I also own an extremely rare 1980's Mini Van. So, some would expect my opinion to be biased. Well.....
If you are looking out for a small classy looking car, which is cheap to run and look after, with many tuning capabilities and excellant handling, then the Mini is just for you. The 1.3i is very reliable, and so is the twin-point injection systems. Both have a tuning kit available at MiniSport, padiham where the power can be increased VERY significantly. The ECU also has a Superchips, re-programmable Computer unit which can be added for even more raw Horsepower!
On the other hand, if you are looking for a small car for fun Sundays, and clubs, then maybe an older Mini is better. They are easier to work on and parts...

Sony Mini Discman The Best Around
Review of Sony MZ-R50 by
mattwhittle
Advantages: Easy and very simple to use!
Disadvantages: None
...I have had a Sony Mini Disc for about 3 months now and have loved it ever since I got it. I got it for a reduced price from a website and saved £50! The features it has to offer are excellent. It is very easy to use and recording and playing is simple. What's more the sound quality is excellent and there is not problem running or walking with it. Sony really do know how to make great products and they have really led the way with their mini discs. Although the inital start out cost is high mini discs are relatively cheap and recording from your computer can also be done with ease! I recommend this product highly!...

Mac for everyone
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.83 GHz by
gnetro
Advantages: Very powerful processor, compact design, it is an APPLE
Disadvantages: No disadvantages
...A cheap mac for everyone, which still maintains its powerful features. After I bought a mac mini, I never go back to other computers, This is so perfect for eveyone and I really tell you now. Once you go Mac you will never go back. Why?
1. It is very powerful - it gives you the power you wanted, because of its dual core processor. You can even use it as a server and still powerful.
2. Compact/Portable - you can carry it, put it anywhere
3. Connectivity - this computer really gives you the best connectivity just plug it and It adopts it, you don't need to search for drivers, because it knows all devices that you put onto it. Except non-mac devices of course.
4. Lighweight - a very light computer that can be easily carry around.
5. Built-in videocard is already awesome, no need to buy a videocard if your not into game.
6. Colors...

The most important invention since the light bulb
Review of Apple Mac mini Core 2 Duo 2 GHz by
SimoD
Advantages: Sleek looks, miniture size
Disadvantages: You may need to upgrade for more speed
...Possibly the best computer known to man
I own one of these Mac Minis and they really are fantastic machines.
For a start, I chose a Mac Mini because I wanted a desktop computer but had limited space available. It was ideal. Still to this day I'm baffled how they manage to fit a whole computer in here.
It also has a great spec. that you can check on apple.com and is fully customizable!
As you can see from the image, it is approximately the width of a CD!
Mac v Windows
I made the switch to Mac several years ago when a friend showed me his Mac mini (which previously ran on a PowerPC chip). I loved the machine from that day on.....
Don't be worried about the move...Macs are amazingly eacy to use, with plenty of benefits.
-There are very few viruses on mac.
-Sorry but the word 'crash' doesn't come under apple vocabulary.
-Macs look...

The reason why apple has a cult following
Review of Apple iPod mini 4 GB Blue by
zarko
Advantages: Small, sleek, stylish
Disadvantages: Out of production due to the introduction of ipod nano
...I bought the 4GB 2nd generation ipod mini in May 2005.One of the things that impressed me most about this genereation of ipod mini is its vastly improved battery life.
Having owned the 1st generation mini, I know the only matter that hindered it from being 'perfect' is its dismal battery life. After using the 1st generation mini for a few months, a single charge could only give me a couple of hours of playtime.
However, with the 2nd generation mini, a single charge could last me the whole week!Even after using it for almost half a year now, the battery is going just as strong.
Some changes from the 1st generation mini includes a much brighter (and beautiful) matt finish. The colour of the arrow/pause/play/menu buttons now corresponds with colour of the mini.Sound quality remains the same - satisfactory as always for all ipod...

WOW "O" WOW
Review of Apple iPod mini 4 GB by
leeharding
Advantages: Small, Compact, Stylish
Disadvantages: Cost of replacement battery
...The design is the main thing about the mini that made me upgrade from a third-generation 15GB unit. It is appreciably smaller than the regular iPod, with a smooth aluminum enclosure that isn't a scratch and fingerprint magnet like its bigger brother. Apple carved the shell out of a solid block of aluminum, so there are no seams and the mini is rock-solid.
This 4GB unit has plent of hard disk space. It will take over 4000 songs to fill up this Ipod. Trust me it isnt worth getting the 15GB/20GB IPOD as you will never fill it. Even HMV will have trouble.
The new Mini IPOD is Small/Stylish/compact/light and has a easy User interface even my grandad would have ease using the IPOD.
You will have no problem installing the IPOD via a PC if you wish to download MP3 and upload them onto the device....

Apple Mac Mini Core Duo..
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.83 GHz by
copester69
Advantages: Small but powerful, its a great starter apple,
Disadvantages: Limited scope for upgrade,
...My friends always said to me that I should get an apple computer, but stubbornly I always resisted as I thought I should stick to what I know. That was until I used an apple mac.
This mini core duo is an inexpensive way to get onto the apple ladder, and you wont be disappointed. Straight out of the box, it looks very stylish and would compliment any home cinema or music system. For such a small unit, the apple packs quite a punch, with ports such as USB and ethernet, wi-fi and bluetooth, as well as a remote control, the apple wont leave you wanting.
Whats more, one of the most positive things about apples is that most of the inside is made by apple, unlike in PC's where everything is thrown together and hoped that it works. Apple seems to just work like a PC doesn't.
It's not perfect though. The sheer size of it means...

Protect pink mini ipod
Review of XtremeMac Shieldz For iPod mini Case MP3 player by
tiger645
Advantages: Great protection
Disadvantages: Only works well with mini PINK ipod
...Paid a lot for your mini ipod? Then why not keep it looking new and clean, after all a mini ipod cover hardly costs anything in comparison. This cover is perfect for protecting your mini ipod without changing any of the excellent features and still allowing all the brilliant accessories to be used.
This mini ipod cover is great for protecting the mini ipod from falls or any other damages that either damage or make the mini ipod look tatty. This cover is made from rubber so is great for grip so the owner is less likely to drop the mini ipod. Even if they did it would be protected. The rubber does not absorb water so the cover is waterproof protecting the mini ipod from spillages or cases of dropping the mini ipod into the bath! The particular cover matches the pink mini ipod (both dull and bright) so that the ipod colour is still...

***JVC MINI NOTE-UPDATED***
Review of JVC Mobile Mini Note PC MP-XP731 - Pentium M 1 GHz - 8.9" TFT by
lgray
Advantages: Fantastic for out and about use
Disadvantages: PRICE!!!
...For all you computer users who need a pc that is great for out and about use, and need a pc that is small. This is the mother of all small pc's.
I looked through the magazines that i order my PC's from for myself and my shop. I came acroos this little thing and was amazed how much technology the could fit insuch a little space. (34x225x175mm)
*General*
The processor is at a reasonable speed for getting things done quickly at the expence of battery life (3.5 hours). Ram memory is @ 256mb which is good for those demanding programs but dosnt really fit with the 1GHz Pentium M processor. Hard Disk is @ 40GB not sure of the RPM. The Disk Drive is a DVD/CD-RW which means that you can read DVD format CD's. You cannot write a DVD-R or RW only CD-R and CD-RW.
Screen
10.6" with a top resolution of 1,024x600 which can make the text on the screen...
