Advantages: Light in the palm of your hand, compact rugged and great quality. Disadvantages: Base cap might be fidly for some people to remove.
..."Maglite" do it again, it?s a world known manufacturer for its torches that bring light when and where we need it! So much so that these are no standard with law enforcement and many other profession. This is the "MINIMaglite" which requires 2x AA batteries.
So let?s see what this California company has given us....(http://www.maglite.com/product.asp?psc=2AACELL&pt=R)
From the site....

Advantages: Well built, reliable, versatile, and performs well. Makes a smart gift. Disadvantages: none
...of their smallest offerings, cunningly entitled the 'MiniMaglite'...
>First Impressions<
-----------------------------
The MiniMaglite itself comes in two flavours - 2xAA batteries, or 2xAAA. The AAA version will be more compact, but will give correspondingly lower light output. As far as pricing goes, both units retail around the £15 mark. Although this may seem steep to you, bear in mind that this is not some cheap plastic energiser torch - it is a professional-grade piece of kit.
First impressions of this torch, as with any Mag-lite product, are very good. The unit itself is fashioned from quality aluminum alloy, making it light yet strong. There are a variety of gloss finishes, silver/black/red/blue/navy/purple/lime to name but a few, and this gives a nice selection when considering the Mag-lite as a gift. Incidentally...
Advantages: Quality of light, convertible use as candle, spare bulb .... Disadvantages: None
...of the number I have bought for other people.
Maglite torches come in a range of sizes and metallic colours and can be purchased in a number of outlets. Halfords, in particular, always seem to have a good stock. The one I have is the MiniMaglite AA which can easily be put in a handbag and I find is just the right size to hold comfortably. It uses 2 AA batteries which so far I haven?t needed to replace despite regular usage over a period of a few months. There are no prizes for guessing what the MiniMaglite AAA uses.
So what is there to get excited about? Well, firstly the light is the bright kind of light that you expect in a flashlight, not the yellow kind of light I associate with standard torches. Moreover, you can control whether to ?flood? an area with the light or close it down to an intense beam on a small spot just by twisting...
Advantages: Great Quality | Longlasting battery's | strong beam Disadvantages: not sure of any
...*Intro
The Maglite Torch, an instrument used by both amateurs and professionals alike due to its robust design and various in-built quality features. A guy called Mr. Maglica, the founder of the Maglite Company in 1955, first built the Maglite in a small one-man shop in the U.S.
Since then the company has grown vastly, and with it so has the reputation of the Maglite, it almost has the same reputation that say, Victrinox has in the knife industry, one of lasting quality. The Maglite itself comes in many different sizes from the 1 AAA cell Solitaire to the 5 Cell Maglite, but in this op, I'm going to focus on the 2 AA cell version/.
*The Torch
Each torch comes with a set of instructions on maintenance and the various parts that make the Maglite, as well as information regarding warranty and returns. The manual also gives advice...
Advantages: The gold standard of torches Disadvantages: Don't clean the reflector !!!!!! I did and the silver has gone
...Ok so this isn't the first review of the Mini-Mag. I love them too, and now have two (car and sock drawer).
If you need to see how great the torch is, then read the rest of the reviews, this is a word of warning to fiddlers who love their Maglite - Don't clean the reflector.
I was bored one day and decided to dismantle the torch head. I cleaned the lens and the reflector with a soft cotton cloth. Later, I noticed that the beam wasn't as bright, so stupidly I repeated the procedure. I looked on in horror to see that the blue plastic was now revealed where there should have been a silver reflector ...
Needless to say, the torch isn't as bright as it was. I later picked up a second Maglite AA for £8 and I won't take the reflector out ever again....
Advantages: A good strong beam. Disadvantages: None really.
...As the dark nights settle in we always seem to get a little bit paranoid in our house, both of us like to know that there is a torch to hand and it must be a half decent torch too, not one that shines like candle light.
We have a large torch but it is unwieldy and it takes one of those large power pack batteries that can work out very expensive, so this torch is in general kept as a light for the loft.
We have recently bought a MiniMaglite and I am not too sure that we have made the right move, only time will tell.
Don't get me wrong the MiniMaglite is a neat little torch that has a high powered beam but it does seem very lightweight so we will have to be extra careful not to lose it en route.
If we religiously put the torch back in it's rightful home then it should stay put.
The MiniMaglite torch is very long and slim...
Advantages: Bright light, so reliable its a global name. Disadvantages: Candle mode can be risky with an exposed bulb, but you have a spare so its ok.
...So "Maglite" it?s a world known manufacturer from bring light when and where we need it where it is the biggest version, or the solitaire 1xAAA battery one. The review below looks at the Maglite Solitaire.
So let?s see what this California company has given us....

This comes in a small presentation box with room to hold the torch, a battery and a key chain attachment so it can be added to your key chain. A most excellent feature so you don?t loose it, and you always have it to hand.
Also in this case comes with instructions, but you really don?t need them, it?s so simple to use. The comforting thing about this is there is MAGLITE branded across the front, you know where you hear this name you get top quality, no more £1 market torches for you!

Advantages: Waterproof, shockproof, great design, bright Disadvantages: None!
...I bought my maglite a couple of years ago. Since I do quite a lot of camping and going to music festivals, I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a good torch to see me through my camping adventures!
The maglite comes in a black plastic protective case. The case is rectangular in shape, it is about 17cm in length and 10cm in breadth and probably about 3cm thick. It has 'MiniMaglite' written across the front of it. This opens up to reveal a short furry grey haired plastic covered inner, which has two storage compartments in it. One where the batteries go, there is space for two AA batteries here, which means that if you have two in your torch, then you can have extras to carry around with you that you won't lose in the bottom of your bag! The next storage compartment, directly underneath the one for the batteries is where...
Advantages: Bright, compact and indestructible Disadvantages: Awkward to use with gloves, easy to lose
...I break torches. I drop them off high things, get them wet, you name it. My Mini-Maglite is probably somewhere around six years old now and still going strong. To some, £20 might seem rather a lot to pay for a torch, but for something as indestructible as this it's a price worth paying.
The torch is machined from aluminium and is available in a variety of finishes, from plain boring black, to silver, red, purple and army camouflage to name but a few, with various other special limited edition patterns from time to time. The only plastic component open to the elements is the plastic lens at the front. The head of the torch and base both screw on with rubber O-rings to keep water out.
Unlike its larger brethren, the Mini-Maglite has no conventional on-off switch, relying instead on twisting the head to turn it on and off, and to...
...I purchased this MiniMaglite AA to accompany my larger 4 cell Maglite that I reviewed earlier.
The MiniMaglite AA, is made of Aluminium like the rest of the Maglite range. The MiniMaglite AA is approximately 150mm long and 20mm in diameter, I paid approximately £12 for my MiniMaglite AA off of the internet.
I have owned and still do own another Maglite torch. I have used Maglite torches for well over 10 years and have never had any problems whatsoever with them. Has you will probably know, the Maglite range of torches are made of Aluminium so as not to corrode or rust. Starting at the bulb end of the torch I will explain what features and what each part of the torch does.
Most of the Maglite range have a feature on which gives the user the option to have either a wide beam of light or a narrow but long reaching beam of light...
