Notes on a Scandal

Advantages: Excellent performances, interesting story

...Notes on a Scandal is the story of Barbara Covett, a lonely and elderly teacher at an underperforming school. It begins with the introduction of a new teacher, young and pretty Sheba Hart. The two become friends, until Barbara discovers that Sheba is having an affair with a 15 year old student, at which point her view of the friendship intensifies significantly. Barbara becomes extremely posessive and falls in love with Sheba, who tries hard to please her and be a good friend but makes it clear she is feeling quite disturbed by Barbara's actions. Advantages: Quite a lot

...I have just been bought the dell mini 10 which is a compact web book. Now, until now I did not know a great deal to do with web books so my first thought was that it was cute and I was genuinely excited to get using it, however I noted that this product has not been reviewed so I did some research and had a look through some of what this dell has to offer and though I would offer a review on the item. Design Firstly I want to comment on the design of this dinky thing, the lid of mine is piano black and glossy which obviously is one of those things which you think, should I take the film off? I have left my film on as I am prone to eating whilst browsing and therefore I do not want my mini 10 to be covered in my prints within the first uses! ...This is a review of the Nissan Note 1.4 with manual transmission & not the 1.6 auto as listed. My first acquaintance with the Nissan Note was on a rental car hire parking lot last week, it was my transport for three days. If we all purchased a car for looks alone I doubt if anyone would even consider this car. I know looks are a subjective matter but no matter which angle I looked at this vehicle is was just????.well, ugly. With its long wheelbase & box shape & those striking ?bug eye? headlamps it was never going to win a beauty contest. Post-It Notes!!

Advantages: convenient, stick relatively well, come in a wide variety of shapes, colours and sizes
Disadvantages: quite expensive, not too good for the environment

Advantages: Great Acting and storyline

...Most films that star Judi Dench tend to be very good and Notes on a Scandal is no exception. In this film which is based on a book by Zoe Heller, Judi Dench plays Barbara Covett a middle aged school teacher who has a quite pessimistic outlook on life and this doesn't change initially when new teacher Sheba Hart joins the school. Sheba Hart is a young fresh new teacher who, after the pressures of taking care of a young family and dealing with the increasing loneliness she begins to see in her marriage, takes on this new challenge as a way to escape her domestic pressures. Barbara, a bit of a loner herself, is almost scathing about Sheba but when Barbara helps Sheba out with one particular class room crises, a tentative friendship develops, and Barbara begins to see Sheba as a possible close friend and ally. Notes from a Moose Country!

Advantages: It's Bill Bryson, hilarious, excellently written, short stories
Disadvantages: Some parts repeated from other books, can be irritating!

...I've read several of Bill Bryson's books and thoroughly enjoyed them, so when "Notes from a Big Country" came up on BookMooch I was looking forward to reading it without having to pay for it (I know the library is another option, but I like to keep books written by my favourite authors - and Bryson is certainly in my top 20). Rather than being a book as such, it is a collection of 78 short articles which Bill Bryson wrote for a column (which he was coerced into writing for!) in the Mail on Sunday's Night & Day magazine during 1997-1998. bmw mini one

Advantages: to many to state.
Disadvantages: heavy steering

...bmw mini one was the first car i ever brought and to be honest i wish i started with something a little cheaper then maybe changed car a few time to experience how other cars drive and then gone to a mini. only because i now know my next car WILL be another mini. One of the best features is the run on flats. when your tyre pressure goes below what it should be, the car shows you a flat tyre sign and a beebing sound, so you know that there is something wrong. The only thing i think could be improved is the steering i find it a bit heavy compared to other cars but would not hold that against the car. Handle brillianly at a round about!!! The bmw mini, well all mini's are stunning looking car.i love evey minute driving my mini. in my opinion this is the best car ever made....
