Konika-Minolta Magicolor with magical printed colours

Advantages: Vivid colours, reliable, prints beautifully
Disadvantages: Photo printing quality is only 7/10 in my rating

....66 Normal capacity yellow toner (1710517-002) costs £70.01 The prices are from www.tonergiant.co.uk but there are a lot of sites where you can find toners. They keep reproduced cartridges as well for lower prices naturally. We insisted to the brand, so we paid 124.52 pounds for the drum kit. There is a value pack for the cian, magenta and yellow cartridge but we won?t buy that one as the colours don?t run low at the same time and in our case there can be almost a year difference between the replacement dates, so I wouldn?t like to store my money in cartridge and store the cartridge in our house for months. Size Sometimes it is the most important factor, so I measured it: Width: 35 cm (needs further 20 cm for the paper supply) Length: 49 cm Height: 40 cm It is quite heavy as it is a compact machine, it?s 27.8 kg. Features Media type: plain...

Konica Minolta 2550 - a step up from the entry level printer

Advantages: Quality prints, quiet
Disadvantages: A little expensive to run

...The Magicolor 2550 is positioned as one of Konica Minolta's entry level colour laser printers, well almost entry level, as it offers some very nice features without taking the price of the device too high. The specification on offer from this full colour model is a cracking 20ppm (pages per minute) in monochrome and 5ppm in full colour. The native resolution is 600dpi with a x4 dithering method which beefs this up to an effective 2,400dpi. The model on review here is the standard model, which has 128MB of memory, is network ready and offers Postscript 3 printer language in addition to PCL6 and PDF support. The 2550DN which is the next model up adds a built-in duplexer and has 256MB of memory, it also adds Pictbridge support for direct connection of a compatible digital camera. Both models are capable of handling a monthly duty cycle...

Why the Pro's ignore Minolta

Advantages: None - judgment is somewhat clouded
Disadvantages: Please provide larger area the write in!

...sent the cameras to minolta for a quote. £120 to get the 700si rewinding film, nearly £300 to replace the mirror on the 9xi. This was actually more than the second hand value of the cameras (assuming they worked of course. I conveyed my dismay regarding the situation to the "powers that be" at Minolta but they were just not interested. This is why you rarely see a professional photographer with a Minolata camera. A footnote to this episode was that when I asked Minolta to return my cameras, only one arrived. It took Minolta another 3 months to get the other back to me. I now am back to Nikon. I would like to say Nikon service is good, but "touch wood" Ive never had a Nikon go wrong. For sale 1xMinolta 700si and 1xMinolta 9xi - £40 for spares only!...

Minolta's best yet

Advantages: Same fast printing in COLOUR as well as black
Disadvantages: Can not reduce quality to save toner

...Minolta 3100 colour laserjet printer is the flagship of their range. For small workgroups it's ideal. I personally use it to print a regular magazine, in superior quality, for subscribers. After using my inkjet printer for a few months and being frustrated at not being able to print both sides of the paper automatically, I decided to upgrade my whole output to colour laser. I first tried a budget laser printer from Minolta but found it very slow and noisy. On looking through their brochure, my attention was drawn to the 3100, priced at £1500.00 this was the best of the bunch for me. There were higher priced units but they were more suitable for large corporate businesses rather than my 'work from home' business. With a printing speed of up to 16 pages per minute, duplex printing, high capacity toner cartridges...

Small Gem - Minolta Vectis 3000

Advantages: compactness, range of features
Disadvantages: cost (of APS film)v

...I recently bought this APS camera to replace my ageing, but reliable Olympus XA compact camera (all manual, 15+ years old). After lengthy searches and scouring the reviews I decided to go for APS, and settled for the Minolta Vectis 3000, mainly because of its size and zoom capabilities. When I found it for sale on-line at the high-street price of the 2000, I jumped at the opportunity. It claims to be the "World's Smallest Fully 3X Zoom Advanced Photo System Lens Shutter Camera". I can only confirm that it is small and convenient, it fits into your trouser pocket (which my Olympus did, but that had no flash), the all in one casing protects it well, and looks quite sleek and stylish - if you like to choose your camera by its looks. The Vectis 3000 boosts a 3X zoom, and allows you to take great detailed shots of features at a distance...

Review Minolta Z2

Advantages: Infinately (well almost) settings, accurate settings, only for the keen photographers
Disadvantages: autofocus and metering inaccurate, not good for occasional snappers

...I bought a Minolta Z2 about 6 months ago. I have been an avid amateur photographer for years, done the photographic clubs etc, got bored with the expense of processing etc and I have always had Minolta cameras. But then the digital cameras came along and changed all that. There aint nothing wrong with Minolta?s reliability, but there?s certainly an air of cheapness of the finish when it comes to Konica, but times are hard, they?re squeezing more and more out of nothing and that costs nothing. But it seems to me that as Minolta are still in control of the upper markets (e.g. 7Hi). It looks like Konica have stamped their position on the lower end cameras, i.e. this one and its predecessors: Z1, Z10 blah, blah. The workings have definitely the stamp of Minolta, I just hope that the Konica haven?t compromised with the quality...

Minolta DiMAGE Xt

Advantages: Daylight photos and battery
Disadvantages: Night photos

...This machine will be your best friend. Especially if you don't have a mobile that take photos. You can carry with you easy cause to the small size. Perfect image colours for the daylight photos but not the same for the night especially if you try to take photo people further than 2 meters due to the week flash. The battery last longer than other cameras cause the optical zoom is internal (Minolta pattern) and the LCD screen at the back is small(less energy consumption). So if you want to buy a quality that last with less money is a good selection. Definitely there are better cameras with better night photos. But is difficult to find any camera to take photos at night. Tip for nights photos don't use the flash. Press the button for photo and wait . Try this to take photo a town from above at night. It needs 30 second to take...

Konica Minolta A200

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, range of functions, lens quality, anti shake function
Disadvantages: Viewfinder not the best, low light autofocus

...Although Konica Minolta have now ceased making cameras, there are still a few of these around (and warranty/service has been handed over to Sony). The A200 is the last of KM bridge mount digital cameras in the pro-sumer market. It has a 8m pixel CCD and 28 to 200 (35mm equivalent) manual zoom lens - much better than a motor driven lens which tend to have noticeable "stops". Although fairly big (not quite as big as a D-SLR) and quite heavy, the range of functions available from fully automatic to fully manual with a number of programme modes in between means that you get pretty much all the benefits of a D-SLR in a smaller, more convenient package. It's no pocket camera however. A number of items standout:- the excellent quality lens (which has very little barrel distortion or vignetting) and which can take both wide...

Minolta F300 - Digital Camera & Video

Advantages: Easy to use,Fantastic Photographs,Video Capabilty
Disadvantages: None

...of a new member of the family, this was an important Factor. This was simple to Operate, turning the Main switch to the correct marker, and clicking start. There is a limit to the amount of Video you can take, according to the Hard Drive Card Size.My Middle Range Card enabled me to take 40 Minutes of Audio Video, but i was shooting 20/30 seconds pieces of film, downloading onto the laptop and then deleting from the Camera, opening up the space again. The Other Main use of my Camera is to take Excellent Quality Digital JPG Photography for my Ebay Site. There are 6 settings in the 'focus' range, enabling Photography of Landscapes down to the minutest detail on a stamp. This range is perfect for me,and after a little use,i found myself setting the focus,by a couple of clicks. The Camera though,is so advanced, that from a Facial Shot upto Landscape Shot...
