~ Slide with the Time ~
Advantages: Excellent story, Great acting, funny.
Disadvantages: None
...~ Slide with the Time ~
Last night I went to visit my mum like I do most Mondays. Since moving I always dedicate a weekday to see her. After catching up and having a rant about the most common crap things in life we wanted something good to watch. Sliding Doors has been out for over ten years and we have watched it about twenty times but it is still really good, and one of those films you can watch however many times. We do actually own the film on VHS somewhere which shows how old it is. I remember first watching it on TV though a few years ago. There are some recognisable actors involved and I quite like Gwyneth Paltrow. I think she is a very good actress and even though she does not appear in big blockbusters, all her films are soft and well performed. So after discovering this was on I was pleased of the choice as it is...

Sliding Doors
Advantages: Easy To Watch
Disadvantages: Nothing Fantastic
...Sliding Doors is a film which brings to the screens the question ?what if?? it was released in 1998 and is still managing to bring in plenty of viewers due to its unique story and layout which has been copied, but not as successfully, since.
What?s it all about?
The movie is a romance story about Helen, the film follows her in her struggles through her life, work and especially her love life. The starting and main point of the film is at the beginning, she is catching a train which turns out to be a major pinpoint of her life.
The film is then split into two stories, one in which follows on from her catching the train, and one of which follows on from her missing the train. This small event in Helen?s life changes everything and the consequences of either one is flashed back to throughout the film, and she experiences...

A Scanner Darkly
Advantages: Good Special Effects
Disadvantages: Not many
..."A Scanner Darkly" is based on the novel by Philip K Dick. Richard Linklater's film stars Keanu Reeves as undercover narcotics policeman; Bob Arctor. This is an interesting film but it didn't really move me deeply. There was some good acting but the story line was simply not exceptional. On deep reflection it is not a film that I would recommend. But if you want to watch it do so at your own risk.

Sliding Back In To The Mobile Generation
Advantages: Does the basics very well. Great looks and form factor.
Disadvantages: Easily scratched.
...with a swanky-looking Nokia 6600 Slide (so much for not looking flash!).
IN THE BOX
I bought the phone on a 24-month pay monthly contract, so it was ?free?. However, if you wanted to buy the unit separately without a contract, it would set you back £249 from Carphone Warehouse. However, the model is already a year old, and as such, you can get them new elsewhere at a significant discount, or acquire them second hand for a fraction of the cost. The top opening box includes the phone, the manual, a mains charger, a data cable to enable connection to a PC, a set of in-ear headphones (the ear canal types with rubber ear buds that sit inside your ears) with three sizes of ear buds, and a special adapter which plugs into the USB port which allows it (and the headphones) to double as a hands-free kit. More on the accessories later. In addition to...

sliding doors
Advantages: great movie, great actors, great storyline
Disadvantages: Some people may find the movie hard to follow.
...Sliding doors is one of my all time favorite films!
made by director Peter Howitt he has really made a different kind of film that makes you use your brain.
It follows the life of helen (actress Gwyneth Paltrow) Who works in PR and lives with her writer boyfriend, unbeknown to helen her boyfriend gerry (actor John Lynch) Is cheating on her with an ex girlfriend, Helen goes to work as normal but gets sacked due to sexist male employees! Then the story really starts, Helen gets into the lift and makes her way to the tube station, then the screen splits, One helen catches the train, whilst the other helen misses the train ( They are both still the same person the story follows would would and wouldnt have happened if she caught or missed the train) The helen that misses the train has to get a taxi and gets mugged therefore she misses...

Sliding Doors

Disadvantages: Some OTT performances
...Sliding Doors - Film Only review
What different path would your life follow if you happened to say, miss a tube-train by only a second? What effect would that second have on your life? Would it be different? Or is your destiny inextricably mapped out?
Sliding Doors, directed by Peter Howett (of 'Bread' fame) explores this question, following the life of recently fired PR Girl Helen (Gwyneth Paltrow) as she misses a train in one scenario but catches it in another. The movie cleverly switches between the two storylines - in the first, after catching the train, Helen arrives home early to find her boyfriend Gerry (John Lynch) enthusiastically entertaining his brash American bit-on-the-side (the ever-sexy Jeanne Tripplehorn). In the other, missing the train, she arrives home much later to find Gerry guiltily washing...

Sliding in the ice?
Advantages: feels robust and does everything a good phone needs to
Disadvantages: heavy, battery life
...After almost 2 years of using the same old handset my network finally decided I was able to claim an upgraded handset as long as extended my contract.
The choice I preferred was always going to be a Nokia as any I'd had previously had been better than other brands Id used, and one of the newer options avaliable was this the 6500 slide.
As Im with Orange I had the option of the new black version or the original silver, I chose the black simply because they had it in stock at the time.
On receiving the handset my intial impressions were about its weight and size. With a predominantly metal casing it feels robust and obviously metal increases the weight. The front of the phone has a large colour screen and the four large buttons with the central navigation button. Sliding it open you have a relatively small number pad which is...

Nokia 6500 slide
Advantages: Good mix of features including high end features like 3.2MP autofocus camera and TV-out
Disadvantages: No wifi, Slight overheating
...The Nokia 6500 slide is a slider phone released in early 2008. It was announced in 2007 as part of the Nokia6500Series - which also includes the Nokia 6500 classic which has slightly less features. The 6500 series with its stainless steel design proved to be a success, and led to the 6600 series (consisting of the 6600 classic and the 6600 slide) and the as yet unreleased 6600i series.
--- the BASICS ---
The 6500s is a 3G phone characterised by a stainless steel design. It has some advanced features like an autofocus Carl Zeiss 3.2MP camera, TV-out connectivity coupled with the bread and butter of other phones including FM radio, turbo 3G internet, multimedia player etc. It runs on Series 40 operating system and is not a smartphone (i.e. it does not support 2 or more applications running at the same time). There is about 20Mb memory...

Slip 'n Slide 6500
Advantages: Great quality with all the latest features, generally awesome!
Disadvantages: Keys sometimes don't respond
...NOKIA
Nokia is a multinational telecommunications company. The business was born in Finland in the 1960's and is now a worldwide manufacturer of mobile phones. Most people remember the old classic Nokia 3210, quite heavy with its redeeming feature being snake. Since then Nokia has come a long way and I've had several Nokia phones in my time: the good old 3210, a 6210 which was originally intended for business and had a huge memory, a cute 6233 with a 2megapixel camera along with many other features, and finally a 6500 slide.
WHY/HOW I GOT IT
A couple of years ago a company called 'future phones' called me and I set up a contract with them for a 6233 on the 3 network. I previously had an LG 3 phone, which I loved, but it had broken and it was time for another. When my contract with the 6233 was about to end I was contacted again...

Slide over here and talk to me!
Advantages: Great phone with lots of good features
Disadvantages: screen goes black and white in bright sunlight
...'t look anything special but once you see the screen all lit up you realize it's actually quite good. The screen is very sharp and this is the bit that initially impressed me the colours are so bright and clear, compared to my previous phone it looks so much more up to date and smart. When the phone is closed you can just see the screen and below that 4 buttons and a big button in the middle, the 2 lower buttons are the standard green and red buttons that are on most phones to answer and finish calls. The only problem with the screen I can find is if you look at it in the sun light it actually looks dull and more black and white than the normal clear and sharp.
To get all the other number buttons you just slide the screen up this is very easy and doesn't seem to get stuck, when you do this the buttons also all light up. I must also add that...
