Konika-Minolta Magicolor with magical printed colours
Advantages: Vivid colours, reliable, prints beautifully
Disadvantages: Photo printing quality is only 7/10 in my rating
...We bought our Konika Minolta Magicolor 2350 laser printer four years ago. We use it at home but I print quite frequently. We decided to buy this printer because it is specially designed for optimal performance in Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, and other environments as well. This was important for us, as I use Windows but my husband is an IT professional and uses several other operation systems on his computers and sometimes also he wants to print something. He worked for a company where there were a lot of printers of this type and he had really good opinion about them. This opinion hasn?t changed since then.
Price of the printer and cartridges
When we bought it, it was on offer, so it was ?only? £650. It was a serious discount because its full price is £900.
There are four cartridges in it plus the drum cartridge, we had to change...

Power of a Woman
Advantages: Great tracks, harmonies
Disadvantages: None
...Eternal - Power of a Woman
One of my favourite girl bands from old were Eternal (this is probably showing my age a bit but oh well). They were popular before The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud etc and I think one of the reasons why they were successful was because they could actually sing and had some lovely harmonies, with beautiful voices that all worked well together. They were also all very pretty as well so I'm sure this added to their success.
Eternal were formed in 1992 and eventually ceased as a band around the year 2000. The group consisted of four members, Easther and Vernie Bennett who were sisters, Kelle Bryan and Louise Nurding. Louise Nurding is now probably the most famous of the quartet as she was fairly successful as a solo artist and went on to marry the footballer Jaime Rednapp. She still does some television work as...

USB Power-ed up Adapter
Advantages: Compact and Portability
Disadvantages: Price
...This USB Power Adapter is a must accessory to have if you have any kinds of iPods. As you would know, when you buy an iPod, you will only receive the iPod itself and the link cable. This means the only way you can charge the iPod is through the computer. However, this is disadvantage for many reasons since you would need to make sure the computer is on when charging. Because its USB charged, it takes quite a long time to charge it to full.
This USB Power Adapter deals with all of the charging problems and many others. The size of the power adapter is very compact, with its dimension of 4cm by 4cm (estimate and could be different when bought from different country). It is also not so heavy for portable use.
Also, you can change the adapter itself to European, Asian or wherever with great convenience. All you have to do is slide it...

Konica Minolta 2550 - a step up from the entry level printer
Advantages: Quality prints, quiet
Disadvantages: A little expensive to run
...The Magicolor 2550 is positioned as one of Konica Minolta's entry level colour laser printers, well almost entry level, as it offers some very nice features without taking the price of the device too high.
The specification on offer from this full colour model is a cracking 20ppm (pages per minute) in monochrome and 5ppm in full colour. The native resolution is 600dpi with a x4 dithering method which beefs this up to an effective 2,400dpi. The model on review here is the standard model, which has 128MB of memory, is network ready and offers Postscript 3 printer language in addition to PCL6 and PDF support.
The 2550DN which is the next model up adds a built-in duplexer and has 256MB of memory, it also adds Pictbridge support for direct connection of a compatible digital camera. Both models are capable of handling a monthly duty cycle...

Why the Pro's ignore Minolta
Advantages: None - judgment is somewhat clouded
Disadvantages: Please provide larger area the write in!
...I've been a pro photographer for over 10 years. Mainly I have used Nikon, but during a lean period in my career I update my cameras to Minolta due to cost reasons. Big mistake. I bought a 700si and a 9xi. The 9xi was released as a professional camera. It seemed sturdy and very advanced for its time. The 700si had similar features but was less sturdy, it was to be my back up camera. Just over a year after purchase, ie just out of guarantee the 9xi failed with a sticking shutter. It was repaired twice, by reputable repair centers. The final failing was whilst on a shoot in Bergen Norway, when the mirror actually fell out. A few weeks later, the back up 700si failed to rewind the film automatically. Unpeturbed, I used the liitle rubber button underneath to manually rewind. But as you can imagine this soon wore out. The result, no cameras. I...

Review Minolta Z2
Advantages: Infinately (well almost) settings, accurate settings, only for the keen photographers
Disadvantages: autofocus and metering inaccurate, not good for occasional snappers
...I bought a Minolta Z2 about 6 months ago.
I have been an avid amateur photographer for years, done the photographic clubs etc, got bored with the expense of processing etc and I have always had Minolta cameras. But then the digital cameras came along and changed all that. There aint nothing wrong with Minolta?s reliability, but there?s certainly an air of cheapness of the finish when it comes to Konica, but times are hard, they?re squeezing more and more out of nothing and that costs nothing. But it seems to me that as Minolta are still in control of the upper markets (e.g. 7Hi). It looks like Konica have stamped their position on the lower end cameras, i.e. this one and its predecessors: Z1, Z10 blah, blah. The workings have definitely the stamp of Minolta, I just hope that the Konica haven?t compromised with the quality...

Minolta's best yet
Advantages: Same fast printing in COLOUR as well as black
Disadvantages: Can not reduce quality to save toner
...Minolta 3100 colour laserjet printer is the flagship of their range.
For small workgroups it's ideal.
I personally use it to print a regular magazine, in superior quality, for subscribers.
After using my inkjet printer for a few months and being frustrated at not being able to print both sides of the paper automatically, I decided to upgrade my whole output to colour laser.
I first tried a budget laser printer from Minolta but found it very slow and noisy.
On looking through their brochure, my attention was drawn to the 3100, priced at £1500.00 this was the best of the bunch for me.
There were higher priced units but they were more suitable for large corporate businesses rather than my 'work from home' business.
With a printing speed of up to 16 pages per minute, duplex printing, high capacity toner cartridges...

The Power of 3 compells you!
Advantages: Works the whole body, fun, well instructed,
Disadvantages: Only if you don't like Davina, legs section is HARD!
...In my recent quest to lose weight and get fitter I've become something of a workout DVD addict! I've now worked my way through all of Davina's output, sampled Charlie Brooks and now moving onto Nell McAndrew (only for the brave!) But Davina's are so far my favourite, with her Super Body Workout topping my list, but the Power of 3 coming a close second. The Power of 3 was Davina's first DVD and is just over an hour long, moving through 3 different sections - legs, arms, and abs. It uses interval training to get the heart rate up before performing different exercises intended to tone up the muscles and lose the flab. If you've used the Super Sculpt on Super Body you'll be familiar with interval training and for me, this is a great way to work out as I hate being too out of breath. Leading Davina (and you!) through the workout are Jackie...

Amazing Micro Devices
Advantages: fast, cheap, not Intel
Disadvantages: none
...So there I was, considering an upgrade to my computer. Before started to purchase anything (as I was going to make it myself) I did a lot a research into what I wanted in my computer. There was one item for which I needed to do no research; this was the processor that I was going to put in this new computer. In my mind the only processor that was going to go into the new computer was a AMD Athlon, the only choice was what speed to I buy? The review will try, I hope, to be as jargonless as possible and if there is any I will try to explain (if I miss any explanations please inform me so I can update this).
** Why AMD **
Well the major difference between AMD and Intel is the pricing of their processors. A quick browse on the internet and you find that AMDs top of the range Athlon processor costs you £175 where as Intels top...

Small Gem - Minolta Vectis 3000
Advantages: compactness, range of features
Disadvantages: cost (of APS film)v
...I recently bought this APS camera to replace my ageing, but reliable Olympus XA compact camera (all manual, 15+ years old). After lengthy searches and scouring the reviews I decided to go for APS, and settled for the Minolta Vectis 3000, mainly because of its size and zoom capabilities. When I found it for sale on-line at the high-street price of the 2000, I jumped at the opportunity.
It claims to be the "World's Smallest Fully 3X Zoom Advanced Photo System Lens Shutter Camera". I can only confirm that it is small and convenient, it fits into your trouser pocket (which my Olympus did, but that had no flash), the all in one casing protects it well, and looks quite sleek and stylish - if you like to choose your camera by its looks.
The Vectis 3000 boosts a 3X zoom, and allows you to take great detailed shots of features at a distance...
