Samsung LE-40F86BD Review
Advantages: Beautiful colours, very dark black colours, works well with standard SKY+ and HD Upscalers
Disadvantages: Sometimes blurry on fast-paced action movies or older films. MoviePlus isn't all that great.
...The Samsung LE-40F86BD is a fantastic TV. I use it with a Standard SKY+ box (i.e. not a SKY+HD model) and the picture is fantastic. As with all TVs using such a box, make suer you can sit at least 2 feet away from it. Sit too close and the picture will look extremely blocky. Due to the quality of the different channels, channels such as SKY ONE or National Geographic will look better (even in SD) than lesser funded channels.
Use a regular DVD player and the picture is beautiful but use an upscaling one such as the Samsung HD870 and the picture is stunning. If only I had an HD DVD PLAYER! I've watched Cars with and without the HD Upscaler and I assure you, the upscaling does make a difference.
Older movies or ones with a lot of fast moving action tend to look a bit blurred at times but in general it's awesome. Movie Plus isn...

Samsung LE23R88BD
Advantages: Excellent picture, very good sound, comes with Freeview.
Disadvantages: Reaction time when pressing the buttons on the tv and the remote control.
...I have owned the Samsung LE23R88BD for about 6 months now and overall I'm really pleased with it.
Pros- The picture is brilliant, it looks very sleek and has touch control buttons on the side for sound and program change. It comes with a stand but can be wall mounted. The screen never gets dirty and doesn't attract dust. I've read reviews elsewhere that the sound isn't good but I disagree. The tv is in a large dining kitchen and the sound is excellent. I set it to 29/100, so nowhere near full volume. It also comes with Freeview which I've really enjoyed the benefit of.
Cons- Just the reaction time in pressing the remote control and something happening on the tv. Also pressing the on button and the tv actually coming on!...

Samsung BD-P1400 BluRay Player
Advantages: Great HD Picture and SOund
Disadvantages: Regular firmware updates required.
...I have been using my BD-P1400 for about eight months now and overall have been very plaesed with its performance. I went for the B-P1400 because I wanted a Blu-Ray player that would do justice to my HD TV but was reluctant to spend the hundreds of pounds requied to get a top of the range system.
First off - sound and picture are absolutley outstanding. THe colours are crisp and clear and the image is crystal clear when playing BR Disks and the sound has great clarity as well. For those people who, like me, have large DVD collections, the BD-P1400 is also a supurb DVD player and if you currently use a lower budget DVD player, you'll really feel the benefit of the great picture and sound quallity that the player gives DVDs.
On the negative side, the player needs updated 'firmware' (the software that allows it to play the most...

You shouldn't suffer from 'the blues' with this Blu-Ray !
Advantages: Great looking, fantastic picture quality and value for money. Reputable and reliable brand.
Disadvantages: The shiny and glossy appearance dust show the dust so get the duster out between films!
...and mobile phones among other devices.

As we have come to expect from Samsung, the BD-P1600 is black and glossy. This looks fantastic although you'll need to dust it regularly to keep it looking crisp and clean. Just ask the missus to do it - simple!

PICTURE QUALITY
