Another Impossible Mission?

Advantages: Good action sequences
Disadvantages: A bit predictable

...about this film that lets it down is that there are no surprises. You kind of know what you're getting from the title, and you know early on from the story itself how its all going to turn out. But it is the third in the series, so perhaps a bit of predictability isn't the worst thing that could happen to it. All in all, this is the best of the Mission Impossible films, proving that a sequel can be every bit as good as the original, and sometimes better than the films that predecess it. If they keep making the Missions like this, then I'll be happy to keep going to the cinema to see them. Having purchased only the single disc edition of the film, I couldn't possibly comment on the quality of the 2 disc format. ...This review is on the 2006, trilogy, Mission Impossible 3 starring Tom Cruise, as IFM agent Ethan Hunt. Now I was a really big fan of the first mission impossible, and then kind of let down by the second one, however again like the first one I liked the final instalment, because it was so much different in terms of storyline, style, action scenes and so on. The film was directed by JJ Abrams, who most people may no from such film as Cloverfeild, and TV shows such as Alias and Lost. Your Mission, Should You Accept It - Is To Read This Review!

Advantages: Fast pacy spy adventure, with great music and some equally great stunts.
Disadvantages: Stunts a bit far fetched - but you expect that with this sort of film.

Mission Impossible Poo? Not quite, but nearly

Advantages: Some outstanding action
Disadvantages: A lot of twaffle in-between

...the technical accomplishment and the support cast. The technical accomplishment is good for physical effects (like stuff being blown up etc.) but the composite effects are generally far more ropey. This is rather surprising given the huge budget of the movie and considering that, admittedly unusual as it is, the effects of the first [Mission: Impossible] movie were perfect. Literally perfect. The support cast is really wasted. Dougray Scott tries to be menacing but doesn't succeed. The script tells us that "every hero needs a villain... every superhero needs a supervillain." Well, Scott's character is not a supervillain. Thandie Newton fares quite well as the world's cutest professional thief but gets dumped by the script about halfway through. She is very, very cute and looks fabulous throughout but is clearly a far, far better actress than...

Mission Impossible 2 DOES have plot

Advantages: Lots of suspense, lots of action, and don't forget TOM CRUISE!

...I recently saw the movie Mission Impossible 2 and enjoyed it immensely. I recommended it for two days to many friends and co-workers only to have a spattering few come back to me, not raving and giving it accolades as I had, but badmouthing it, claiming it had no plot, weak characters and/or relied too heavily on special effects. Please take into consideration that I have not seen the first Mission Impossible, which many believed was the reason for my insane love of the movie. A few friends commented that it revolved around Ethan Hunt and not the whole group. Whatever the case may be, I believe the movie was excellent because, contrary to some remarks, there was a terrific plot to this movie. Mission Impossible 3...The best yet

Advantages: From start to finish it's pure action
Disadvantages: Special features are hardly worth it

...The third installment in the mission impossible series promises to be action packed and the best MI movie yet....but does it deliver? The film starts off introducing Ethans new fiance a pretty young nurse who is completely oblivious to Ethans real job. Unlike the other 2 movies Ethan Hunt is now a teacher . He teaches other potential IMF agents. He is lured back into action when one of his pupils becomes captured. He faces his worst enemy yet...a sadistic arms dealer called Owen Davian. His mission takes him from Rome to Shanghai as he tries to rescue the agent.
