Mizuno MP-001 Fairway woods

Advantages: Low price, powerful and nice design
Disadvantages: Not suitable for high handicaps due to small head size

...The Mizuno MP-001 series of fairway woods are available in a wide range of lofts, with a variety of shaft flexes. Due to being released a few years ago, they are now extremely good value and can be picked up for around £50/£70 (steel/graphite) new and prices are coming down all the time. They are very good looking with a sleek design and look good over the ball. With a simple arrow alignment aid and a compact head these are better suited for the better-player who can guarentee a good strike. Even so, they are very forgiving compared to other low-handicapper woods and hit the ball a long way. In my opinion they are just as good as any other club out and are un-matched for value. ...!) One of the new "legal" drivers that I purchased as a possible replacement was the Mizuno MX 500. Why did I buy it? Who really knows why a golf addict actually buys *ANY* piece of equipment. I was in the professional's shop at my home golf club one day simply browsing around when I spotted it on the shelf. Mizuno have a good reputation in the golf world, and I'd heard great things about this driver from fellow golfers. So a couple of swishes later, and a wee bit of sales spiel from the pro, and out came the old plastic and I was 280 Euro lighter and the proud new owner of the club. The Mizuno MX 500 has a *BIG * club head. 460cc capacity to be exact, although that won't mean much to any non-golfers reading this review. Suffice to say that it's *BIG*. In fact it's so big that you might be forgiven for thinking you were swinging a brick...

Review of Mizuno MX - 500

A truly great golf club

Advantages: Easy to use,fantastic distance
Disadvantages: Not for the beginer, Poor grip

...This club really is something special, Like all Mizuno clubs its very well made and comes with a top quality zip up head cover. The shaft is wider than I'm used to and straight rather than stepped. The shaft also has a lot of flex making me wonder if its perhaps not for the rank beginer. The head is, as you would expect from a fairway wood,quite small (7 wood) but has a good wieght and a great feel on the swing. After two years of using Taylor Made oversize burners and fairway rescue clubs I was expecting this club to be hard to master but not so. I took it to the range a few times before risking it on the course and was truly amazed at the distance this club can reach, 190 yards off the grass with no trouble and easy to keep straight. If I hit a poor drive or as a second shot on a par 5 this club fills a big hole in my bag...

This was until I purchased a set of Mizuno MX-17 (steel) irons in April 2005 for £349, replacing my ageing Progen's that had never really done me justice. At first I thought that the Mizunos were slightly expensive, however after my first practice I could see why Mizuno had such a good reputation as iron-makers and so believed that the price was adequate. There was also the possibility of alternatively buying graphite shafts for £469 but I have always thought steel clubs are better suited to higher handicappers, like myself. The Boot!

...is this boot the boot of all boots allot of famous and not so famous footballers thimk so. the would knows about david beckhams great free kicks but is that his skill or the boot. if it is the boot how come hes getting all the money and not someone else and how come there isnt anyone else as good as him. i must admit my boots help curl a football around the wall but why? what do those little things do.many other footballers can curl a ball just as good and they dont waer addidas predators. Rivaldo wears mizuno. roberto carlos wears nike. and the list goes on so are they just a rip off or do they really work....

Advantages: Fantastic scenery, good transport links, not too expensive - if you know where to go...
Disadvantages: Too tourist-oriented, expensive shops

.... (Often the main meal salads - particularly the famous "Baurnsalat" [Farmer's salad] - do have meat with them as well.) There seem to be some attempts being made to introduce more vegetarian food in Kitzbühel, but it's not exactly a priority for them. Food is relatively inexpensive (at least before the main holiday season in July/August!), and you can always get a "Kaiser Brot", "Speck Brot", or "Shinken Brot" (literally "Cheese / Ham / Bacon Bread") cheaply. This might not sound appetising but can be very nice, basically just bread and cheese / meat, probably a bit of salad and gherkin on the side - try it even if the thought of it doesn't particularly inspire you, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised! Just as a side-note, in Austrai the bread tends to be rye bread, which doesn't taste quite like what you're probably used to. Another dish...

I bought my lob wedge from American Golf Discount for £79.99 The internet discount site, County Golf (county-golf.com) are selling them at the moment for £69.99 and I would say, except for maybe ebay, it would be hard to find it for cheaper than that price. ...Bertha, and thought that was huge, until I used the golf ball cannon that is the R7. On average I used to drive 255 yards, but after using the steroid of the golf world, the R7 Quad i can now drive an average of 280 yards. Sweet spot, I think sweet face describes it best! The ball swipps away with that B-E-A-Utiful ping sound from almost anywhere on the club, just think of the green eyed monster engulfing your playing partners when you consitently hit perfect drives. The R7 Quad is aimed at the low to mid handicaper, as they will experience the biggest gain in distance! On purchasing the club I played of a 16 and now play of 8!
