Advantages: Handling developbed by Lotus, stuning looks, perfect reliability. A1 examples still under £5,000.
Disadvantages: Rust kills most of them, lots of very rough examples out there - especialy T-Bars.

Toyota MR2 MK1 a Classic

Advantages: Quick, Cheap, Reliable, Great looking car
Disadvantages: Like all cars of its age rust is a problem

...I Love my Toyota MR2 mk1 T-BAR 1988. For its age it feels and looks better than anything I see on the roads nowadays. The styling of older cars was retro with all the cool vents and square shapes etc. Now u just get curves and all new cars look the same and are all about comfort and safety. I bought my MR2 in February for a measly £700. It needed work so I got all rust off and a complete respray for £450 from my local garage in Alrewas, he was very helpful and if anybody wants his contact number please get in touch with me. Very nippy 1.6 Engine, Great styling and classic car insurance. What more could you want. Great fun :) Being a Toyota it is also easy to get the parts despite the age. I would not recommend going direct to Toyota as the parts are a small fortune, try internet searches and local garages etc. i found toyota...

Technics 1200 / 1210 Mk2

Advantages: same turntable at home as in the clubs
Disadvantages: heavy

For years and years when i was younger just geting in to Djing all i wanted was a pair of technics. after a few years with other direct drive decks i finally saved enough money to buy a pair i of technics, i bought the SL1200Mk2 because they were silver i did not like the brown of the 1210 much. i have read around and talked to people and aparently the only difference between the 1200 and the 1210 is the colour. I set up my new 1200s and got the tunes out. Wow what a turntable, after years of trying out all other types of direct drive turntables i could instantly see and feel the difference in build quality. the technics weight alot compared to any other turntable, this is because the bottom black base you see is not made of cheap moulded...

The Xcellent XR2i MK 3 Fiesta

Advantages: Solid economical car with great potential

...I bought my XR2i in 1996 for £3500. I was young and mad on modifying cars. What you will read will truly blow you away. My car was a standard 1990 'G' plate, in flame red. The paintwork was tired with no evident damage, all bodywork was fine with no loose fittings. It had the standard check dot grey trim. It did not have the luxury of the recaro seats as in the RST. I drove it around for a couple of months and it was fairly good. Strong on the motorways and practical around town, although it lacked punch. I put it on the rolling road and it was only making 70bhp, down 30 from the 105 standard. This sunny saturday afternoon in 1996 was the catalyst to nearly 4 years of dedication. GHD Mk4 Straighteners are the best on the market!

Advantages: Heats quickly to high temperatures, ceramic technology
Disadvantages: Can only buy online or in hairdressers, needs to be kept away from young children

...I received GHD Mk4 Straighteners as a gift for my birthday about 8 months ago, and I have to say these are one of the best hair straighteners on the market today. You can only however buy them from hairdressers, or online. It came with thermal protector, and creation spray. The thermal protector helps prevent any permanent damage the exceeding heat the straighteners give off and the creation spray helps you create different styles for your hair. Of course I'm not going to be able to fully determine whether the heat protection actually works, but I can say the creation spray didn't really give me any benefit. It all depends which sprays you choose to accompany the straighteners, if you are interested in getting a package. I also found them both to be too oily, and the smell wasn't too appealing either. Advantages: easy to use, maintains heat, great for all hair types, durable, handy size for travelling
Disadvantages: mite be bit costly for the younger customers, but defenately a great value for money

...i was introduced to straighteners approximately 3 years ago and always brought remingtons, but found they were becoming less and less reliable. as i have thick bushy, frizzy hair i was using the straighteners at least once a day and started to find that this brand of straighteners were only lastng on average around 8 months, with one of the 'better' and more expensive pairs lasring only 5 months, so i was brought the GHD summer bag as a gift, containing the MK4 straighteners and the hair products, i believe they are with out a doubt the most reliable straighteners i have ever used and they produce the bes results. i can now straighten my hair in the morning and have it stay remarkably straight all day, with out having to 'go over it' before going out in the evening, and when i was spending over half an hour straightening my hair in...

GHD MK4 Straightener Review - Good Hair Day

Advantages: Reach 130 degrees in 20 secs, good comfortable hand grip
Disadvantages: Maybe rather expensive

...a breath of fresh air compared to less effective models I have used in the past. My hair was poker-straight and silky, even when I forgot to use the heat protector. You can choose to use the straigteners all over our hair or just on the areas that look whispy or unruly. The size of the iron's plates is optimum, allowing me to get to those smaller hard to get to areas. I paid £130 for my GHDs, but I have seen them for around £90. The great thing that GHD do is give you a 2 year warranty and after this time you can send your old GHDs back in exchange for 25 percent discount. Obviously try not to, but if you do accidentally drop your irons to their death, GHD will get them fixed and back to you within no time at all....

GHD MK4 The daddy of straighteners!!

Advantages: Heat up quickly, Turn themselves off, Keeps hair straight
Disadvantages: Dont last a lifetime

...I have used GHD irons ever since they came out years ago. They are the best thing for people with hair like mine (frizzy, curly, hard to straighten). They heat up within seconds and unlike the old model the new MK4 model actually turns its self off after half an hour, which is never a bad thing! As a hairdresser i use these day in day out on clients and myself and am never disappointed with the results. Be it curly, straight or wavy you can create all these looks with GHD's. Although they do not last forever, i have had too many pairs to count! But GHD do not fail us here, if you pop in to a salon that sell GHD's they will have a free post bag which you can send off and GHD will either send you a new pair or ix your current pair. So although expensive they really are worth the money....
