Multifunctional PDA and Sat Nav system

And whilst the PDA is of inferior quality the Sat Nav element of the Mitac is most definitely not. It is on par with stand alone GPS units such as Navman, Tomtom etc. The Mitac has a built in GPS receiver. If any of the readers of this review have ever had to sync an external GPS receiver to a PDA then they will appreciate what an excellent feature this is. I used to have a Toshiba PDA and separate GPS receiver. I never got the two linked up properly and experienced so many problems, including lost signals, no satelites showing etc etc. the list is endless. Tom Tom Mobile

...I travel all over the country as a rep and rely on Tom Tom Mobile very heavily. I've happily visited several customers all over London and not had to look at the map! One of the best things about Sat Nav in general is knowing what time you are going to arrive (subject to road delays and accidents), this is brilliant for me when dealing with clients and planning my journey. I use Tom Tom Mobile with a Nokia 6600. The screen is big enough to see the map and directions well but I do struggle with the small text whilst driving along but may be my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be! I normally put in a post code to set a destination. Only the first 4 digital in the postcode are used, you then have to select a road, and then a house number. Advantages: Cheap, easy to get started, good coverage, clubcard points

...So here we go again another review brought about by the fact I had to move to keep my job (long story and will be covered when I write the review of my employers when and if Ciao list them). Sadly for Orange their network doesn't cover Lydd camp - just the area outside it but no signal penerates the camp fence oddly enough. So while on my hunt for a working network I checked the O2 website and found they claim to have full coverage across the camp, not long after this I remembered the handset and SIM I was given by the nightclub I used to work for but was on Tesco mobile. Dont worry I've not lost it, Tesco mobile and O2 are pretty much the same thing because Tesco buy the 'spare' satellite time from O2 to operate their network. ...Having recently purchased my Navman PiN 570 and having used it for a few months I discovered that some streets were missing from the mapping software. A quick visit to Navman's website soon remedied this problem. I simply followed the easy instructions to update my Navman ST software to the 2005 version. After a few clicks and a few minutes the software was installed on my PC. After running for the first time I was asked to complete some simple questions and to connect my Navman PiN to the PC. Once this had been accomplished it was just a case of re-entering my original software serial number to verify my details which I had previously registered with Navman. Unfortunately, not only are they for authorised vehicles only, they also have padlocked gates to prevent abuse by desperate victims of SatNav misguidance. So once again, I had to strike off into the countryside until I was far enough away that it would find me an alternative route. That goal achieved, I was back on track and arrived home in slightly less time that it had taken me to get there.
