Mock The Week
Advantages: Funny stuff
Disadvantages: None!
...Put together six stand up comedians. Hold them all together by a relatively competent host who also is a pretty accomplished comedian. Get them to discuss the current affairs of the week, and you?ve got yourself Mock The Week.
Shown on BBC Two, and religiously on Dave (would you expect anything else?!), it?s hosted by Dara Ó Briain ? an irish comedian who has done several appearances on several other comedy panel shows such as Have I Got News For You and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Regular panelists include Hugh Dennis, Andy Parsons, Russell Howard and Frankie Boyle?or that was until last week when Boyle declared he wished to leave the show to ?persue? other ideas. Dare I suggest his own comedy programme? I think so.
They sieve through various topics of the week in a variety of ways ? one round is ?If this is the answer, what is...

Mocking the week in pure side splitting cheek
Advantages: humour for everyone; has me in stitches; great end to the week; fab rounds
Disadvantages: some humour unappropriate for younger viewers or may offend
...you don't actually see. Te rounds becomes familiar and always deliver humour though they differ slightly each time. For example, one show might substitute one particular themed round for another.
1. Headliners
-Obviously, the show is called 'Mock the week' so all the rounds and topics are to do with things that have happened during that week. In this round, there is a picture of someone famous taken from a newspaper with the first letters of the newspapers headlines. The comedians have to shout out in turns what the headline is. Of course, they come up with obscure funny suggestions and each comment reflects their humour and personality so we get a good variation of comments and laughs. For example, there are a picture of David Cameron with a slick hairdo pointing his figure in front of a background of traffic. The beginning letters...

Let's mock the weeks news
Advantages: great comical quiz show
Disadvantages: none for me
...what make the show as comically popular as it has become.
Personally, I can?t help but laugh at the way the panellist perform through the show, managing to bounce off each other with some fine one liners, comically slating each other, sometimes involving members of the audience? and even O?Briain gets some pasting as well, giving just as much as he gets?
In all, a brilliant comical look at some of the news from the week and if you enjoy watching the likes of shows such as ?have I got news for you? or even ?whose line is it anyway? then this is defiantly for you as the humour is the same for of quick witted dryness that makes such shows as popular as they are.
If you like the show then you may be interested in the DVD, entitled Mock the Week: Too hot for TV, released in November 2007, consisting of three hours of entertainment...

News that won't make you Snooze
Advantages: Fu-u-nny
Disadvantages: Quite a few risk A jokes, not for those who are easily offended.
...If you want to catch up on the news whilst having a bit of a giggle then Mock the Week is the show for you because lets face it nowadays there is nothing funny about watching the news! Mock the Week is a topical comedy show that pokes fun at all the biggest news stories of the previous week, if you haven?t seen it the comedic stylings are said to be quite similar to other BBC shows such as Have I got news for you or Never mind the Buzzcocks. It started life on BBC2 and was first aired in June 2005 and has grown in notoriety since then meaning it has been given better time slots as well as being shown on BBC1. The show is now in it?s 7th season. I?ve always enjoyed the BBC2 comedic style but Mock the Week is definitely my favourite show!

Cutting Edge Comedy
Advantages: always entertaining
Disadvantages: you may cry laughing
...Mock the Week is a consistently funny and entertaining show. It is a typical Panel Show, such as other shows you may have seen like Have I Got News For You, QI, Who's Line is it Anyway and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. If you have already enjoyed these shows then Mock the Week is definatly for you. You can catch it on BBC2 and repeats on Dave.
The topics on the show are mainly focused around current political issues and stories in the media, as well as more general everyday topics. The aim of course is to laught about it all!
You can guarentee on this show some very inappropriate, controversial, yet hysterically funny jokes will be made. Generally mocking the news of the week. I usually find myself thinking, many of the comments made are things we all want to say but keep to ourselves. Sometimes you have to sit back and laugh and things...

A mock medieval marvel
Advantages: Beautiful surroundings
Disadvantages: value for money
...or layout for any.
Most of the rooms are made to look medieval with dark-brown, old furniture and mock tapestry bedspreads, this is the type of room I last stayed in, but I understand that the hotel have now opened some new rooms that have a more contemporary feel with less emphasis on the traditional. I'll be interested to see which type of room we get when we go there for our first night after our wedding next month! The beds are very comfortable and have good quality cotton sheets and you can have breakfast in your room, which is always a treat - especially the breakfast they serve which is enough to keep you going until late afternoon! You can choose from a wide variety of options from a traditional fry-up (although not at all greasy) to a continental breakfast or porridge. The hot chocolate is sublime!

Hillarious! Simple as that!
Advantages: Great amount of unseen footage for a very cheap price now!
Disadvantages: Have no issues with it!
...So your sat at home watching the hilarious tv show that is 'mock the week' and thinking that Frankie Boyles last joke was a bit rude for tv! well you would be wrong! Much worse (or funnier, however you class it) comes out of that show but is just not broadcast for everyone to see but now that problem has been resolved! A Dvd of all the bits they couldnt broadcast ready for our viewing pleasure :D
For those of you who don't know, mock the week is a weekly political comedy panel show even though you wouldn't notice the political side of things as much as you would of other shows in its field!
Im a huge fan of the show and have been since i watched my very first episode of it! its very easy to watch and will have you in stitches guaranteed!, week to week they have new contestants who are famous comedians to give the show a new...

The other funny one from Mock the Week
Advantages: Hilarious comedy, cheeky and well delivered comedy style, looks and sounds great
Disadvantages: You go away wanting more
...Ever heard a friend asking if you saw Mock the Week and what that bloke said?...no not Frankie Boyle. No not the bald one. No not the presenter. The other one. This is the man they were speaking about in all probability.
Russell Howard is a comedian who I first saw (as I am sure many people did on his appearances on Mock the Week) and after seeing his appearances on Mock the Week I liked his style of comedy and believed that his live show would be brilliant as he seems to be a comedian with a very quick thought process which can lead to some amazing audience interaction and so I decided I had to give his live stand up show a chance and came away with a feeling that the show had been brilliant but like I wanted so much more (at first I put this down as a bad thing but realised that this is what a top comedian would want you to go...

TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD
Advantages: such a moving book
Disadvantages: makes you cry
..."To kill a mocking bird" has a divisive storyline as the novel explores issues such as racism, segregation and prejudice. People after the Civil rights movement, which opposed discrimination and non-equality against Blacks, seemed to accept people of mixed backgrounds but in the 1930s, when this book was set, there was a lot of anti-Black prejudice. They had very little status in the white community and their colour set them apart from equal rights. The narrator Scout, who progresses in age throughout the book, sees life in an unbiased innocent way. This means that she doesn't always understand what she is seeing, but you can evaluate the scene by reading what she saw and therefore assessing culture and society. Also her youth and lack of understanding adds humour to the book.

Objecting to the Mocking...
Advantages: Ease of navigation, a combination of just about everything for everyone.
Disadvantages: Public Transport
...Milton Keynes.. my home town.
At 21 years of age, I have to admit that I have spent many years shying away from admitting where I come from. Not now!
I am proud now to say that I am from one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, and I can take any mocking that you throw
at me (believe me, I've heard it all before!)
So why do I like it and what do I like about it?
Milton Keynes, in my opinion, has a lot to offer for everyone. The obvious attractions are there: the shopping centre, the "Point", the "sno-dome", the new theatre, the hockey stadium... but I feel that MK has a lot more to offer than just concrete cows and roundabouts.
I was born in Northampton, as 22 years ago Milton Keynes did not have its' own hospital. However, my parents were brought up in Wolverton and New Bradwell, and respectively I am a "Braddle...
