Disadvantages: Poppy did whinge a LOT

...I'm forever browsing Amazon for the latest book releases to try to find something new that catches my eye, and I've been lucky lately because there has been quite an influx on new books on to the market this summer! As usual, I've been keeping my local library in business lol, and the latest one I've taken out is "The Model Wife" by an author I've not read before, Julia Llewellyn. It sounded good, and I looked forward to reading it, so here's the review. Poppy Norton is a bit of a cliché, even she admits it. She was unlucky in love until she met News Presenter, father of 3 Luke Norton. The two begin a relationship on the sly, and accidentally Poppy falls pregnant. Luke decides to leave his wife Hannah to set up home with Poppy but soon finds out life with a young model and their newborn daughter doesn't quite match up to his twenty...

Advantages: Entertaining
Disadvantages: On MTV - so if you haven't got Satellite you can't watch it

VH1 is currently casting for season two on their website. No date has been set for it to be aired, and no confirmation has been made to whether MTV will air a second season in the UK. Would you want these as your sons role models?

Advantages: Funny and great cast
Disadvantages: Bad language and nudity may put some off

A model van .

Advantages: good model
Disadvantages: none

...tires. The doors at the back and the side of this van are not able to be opened. The front window is a clear see through plastic. Inside the cab is a black seat for driver and passenger and I can see a steering wheel, this is a left hand drive vehicle. This van is attractive, bright and shiny. Although not a collector I can see the attraction in these old corgi classic model vans I expect like my dad I shall put it away in a cupboard the grandchildren too young to appreciate it fully yet. This model van was produced as a limited edition not sure how many were produced Maybe one day this might be a valuable antique but I am not holding my breath. Advantages: Kind of interesting, some parts entertaining.
Disadvantages: Not up to MTVs usual quality of programmes, already know the winner.

MTV is no longer 'music television' as the name of the channel suggests and if you do not have Sky you will probably not be as familiar with this finding. MTV are now concentrating on developing different kinds of reality programmes and 'America's most smartest model' is a television programme that was heavily advertised before it's premiere and is now on weekly. The basic idea of this television programme is that some American lovely looking model people are required to perform tests which test their intelligence. They have to take part in spelling Bees, experiments etc. etc. The basic concept of the programme is that it's supposed to be funny as the stereotype of models is that they only have beauty and not brains. 14 models...

Models Behaving Badly

Advantages: Good Concept, Fun To Watch, Entertaining.
Disadvantages: A Bit Slow Sometimes

Basically the show is about finding five girls to move into an apartment in London. Thousands turn up for the auditions and it?s the judge?s decision to choose four girls from each city they visit. The auditions were held in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Bristol. The judges are Angus and the editor of Cosmopolitan magazine Lorraine Candy. The five girls will move into the model apartment and go out to castings. There will be one overall winner and she will get a contract with the modelling agency Premier for a whole year and also get her face on Cosmopolitan magazine. Airfix Dr Who 'Welcome to the TARDIS' 1/12 scale model.

Advantages: Looks great on display when given the time.
Disadvantages: Not for beginnners. The figures' heads, hands and feet.

...Although this model is no longer available direct from Airfix there are still a good number of kits to be found in the shops or on-line in the likes of ebay, and in my opinion is worth hunting down. As a model it will offer enough interest for an experienced model-maker and when finished looks good on display, so will be of interest to Dr Who fans as well. (By the way, it also comes with the TARDIS sound effect when you open the door! The batteries are NOT included.) The kit is well packaged and comes with paints, brushes and glue (although extra paints will be needed for the detailing). It also comes with a model Dr Who and Martha Jones. The relatively large scale means that there is a reasonable amount of fine detail on the moulding (such as surprisingly good wood-grain effect on the TARDIS), and this also means that there are few...

...I got into ANTM at about series 3. I'm not quite sure why it appealed to me although my partner does joke that I'd watch football if someone got voted off at the end of every match. The format is that Tyra Banks searches the country for about 12 young girls with model potential. Then with the help of Mr J (shoot director) and Miss J (runway expert - he is a man though in case you're wondering) and a variety of people from the industry they put them through their paces and each week send a girl home, until they have found America's Next Top Model. The girls are generally quite silly and bitchy, a lot are very young and don't know anything about the real world.
