...In the past my wife and I have been pretty relaxed about where and how we holiday. We've done all inclusive, B&B, Half Board, City Breaks, Beach Holidays, make it up as we go along etc. However we now have a 5-year-old boy to look after and so our holidays have to be thought through in advance. This year we chose Fuerteventura as our holiday destination and chose the Monica Beach Hotel on the recommendation of our travel agent because of its reputation as a nice family orientated hotel. The trip from Birmingham Airport takes about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. I'm not going to talk about the flight since different airlines will offer a different standard of service. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...I am a huge Harry Potter I watched the first film and from there I liked it so much I read the books. As much as I love the film I think you miss out on so much if you do not read the books as there is so much more detail in them that I think the film is lacking. ...Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, this is the first installment of the Harry Potter films of the great series by J K Rowling, I had watched this film and then decided to read the book, I then read the rest of the books before the films and I cannot believe the bits that are missed out there is so much more description in the books than the films. ...I recently signed up to one of these sites where you can get DVD's sent to you in the post. Perfect as now I don't even need to leave the home to get new DVD's to watch! This time I got send Miss Potter. I had put this on my list as I was a fan of her books as a child. My sister had the whole little box set and I loved the stories. She also lived in later life in Windermere in the Lake District, which I have spent some time at as a child as my family lives very near the Lake District. This provided some more interest for me.
