Using a laser printer instead of a normal standard injet printer is great, there a lot faster than normal inkjet printers, there a lot more reliable and can carry on printing for ages without you worrying whether the things going to blow up or over heat or not.
But most importantly of all, they have such better print quality, the ink stands out amongst the page which is what gives you that shiny ink and picture pages and it makes documents and pictures not only look great quality, but very professional too.
This is why companies use them, so that their printed documents look a lot more professional, however all this does come at a price. These are known as office...
Advantages: Quick and easy, cleans well Disadvantages: None
... Fargo Printer Cleaning Kit
The Fargo printer cleaning kit is designed for Fargo printers. Fargo printers are printers that are designed to print on plastic cards, using a ribbon. In most of these printers it is nearly impossible to get into the inner workings to clean manually, and by design they get dust inside which makes for poor quality prints and eventually, jamming of the cards.
It is important therefore to periodically clean your printer using a Fargo cleaning kit. The whole procedure will take you less than ten minutes and will have your printer back to life again as good as new in no time at all.

In the box are the following:
* 4 Printhead Cleaning Swabs - these are moistened with 99.99% isopropyl alcohol and should be used for cleaning the printhead inside the printer.

Advantages: Excellent results, cheap to run Disadvantages: Only parallel interface as standard
...The HP Laserjet 6P printers are quite old now, but you can pick them up at bargain prices and get an excellent workhorse with very low running costs.
Let's assume you can pick up a good working example for £75 including a part-used toner cartridge, which is about the going price today (2004). Then let's compare it to a typical inkjet printer which may cost around the same or a little less.
Print quality on expensive paper: Both excellent.
Print quality on cheap copier paper: Laser easily wins.
Printing on envelopes: Easy on the laser, use the front input tray. Some inkjets are easy too, some are fiddly. Not all inkjets have colour-fast ink, so if it rains on the postman, the address may run. Laser print won't do this.
Speed: The laser is possibly slower for the first page out, but not by much. Larger print runs and very...

Review of HP LaserJet 6p
Advantages: Quality of print, ease of use, compact, price Disadvantages: Noisy, pricey cartridges, poor back up
...Printers, don't you just love them. Just as your multi page report for the boss comes to the last page, the ink runs dry or the paper jams. All the warning lamps are flashing like a demented Christmas tree & you haven't got the handbook handy. Yes, we all been there, trying to find a reliable printer is like trying to find an honest politician!
My tried & trusted old portable HP Deskjet 340 printer had given me around nine years of fairly loyal service when it expired after printing its last page. It was small & portable, at the time this proved to be very handy as I had a small study & little space for a small printer let alone a bigger one. A new one was required but with so many people complaining about their printers which one do you buy?
I wanted a printer with a built in scanner, I was now in a bigger house so the size...

Review of HP PSC1215 Printer
Advantages: EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY Disadvantages: NONE THAT I CAN THINK OF
... HP F4272 ALL IN ONE PRINTER
After a long time, my son persuaded me that he needed a new printer for his computer for him to be able to do his homework and school essays. Up until now this involved him saving his work on a pen drive, then coming up to my computer to print up his work.
After deciding to bite the bullet, we did a little bit of research, and decided that an all in one printer would be ideal, and after searching the internet, decided on a HP F4272 all in one printer which we obtained from the Argos Catalogue.
WHY DID WE CHOOSE ARGOS?
The price of this printer from Argos was £59.99, but they were doing a special deal whereby they were also offering the following for free if you purchased the printer:-
An additional HP 300 black ink cartridge (the printer already came with one) ? Argos sell these...
Advantages: fast Disadvantages: does not print in true black ink color
...This printer has NEVER printed in true (or even close...) black "color". Contacting Dell support, I was told "your printer is no longer under warranty", so they would not even offer assistance. I never used it much (it was bundled with the laptop), so now when I needed it for a project, it is very disappointing that it does not work. I have downloaded and installed the "latest" driver (from 2006!) and that still did not help. I re-ran the printers test pattern and head cleaner, and no black ever printed. The test pattern is blue, pink, yellow and brownish-green. Given other's comments here about the black being a greenish-grey, I would never buy another single-cartridge printer again. I would definitely suggest you purchase a printer that has a dedicated black cartridge. Fast speed accounts for nothing if the colors are screwy!...
Advantages: Cheap, reliable and works with Windows Vista Disadvantages: Expensive ink if brought direct from Dell
...The Dell 725 printer is available to purchase directly from Dell online. This is what I would class as their budget range of printer.
I purchased this printer nearly 12 months ago, at the bargain price of £19.99 (prices may differ now), at the time it also came with free delivery. The printer was brought as a in between printer as I did not expect it to last long at the price it was available for. Needless to say, it's been excellent 12 months down the line and it's still going strong!
When purchasing through Dell, they automatically add extras on before you purchase which knocks the price up a little, you simply need to go through and take these off. For example they charge you extra for the USB cable, it's about £12, all you need is a standard USB cable that will fit most printers, you can buy these for next to nothing, and most...
Advantages: can pick one up for £34 Disadvantages: price of carts
...ink jet printers seem to be the common solution to every home personal computers hard copy situation but buying a cheap printer can work out costlier in the long run. The problem is the cartrages. Even a cheap inkjet printer can be brought for about £40 squid and have quite a decent quality of print but cartrages range from £15 squid to up to £40 and if the whole family are using it on regualar basis they mightent last very long. There are also special paper to buy like glossy for photo's and options to put the printer into a different mode to specialize for photos so these can take up more ink then in draft mode, so its important to look at the whole perspective on what the printer is to be used for and cartridge price before getting one in....
...Ok we bought our computer in 2000 and it was a package deal with printer, scanner etc and the printer was a Lexmark it was a fantastic printer. Then last year it started playing up and not printing correctly but as we never used the printer all that much at that time we really never bothered and it done the trick for my son printing out some of his pictures.
One day we were in ASDA and we noticed they had the Lexmark Z23e on sale at £29.99, I had to look twice, as I didn't realise this item could be so cheap I think it was mainly to do with the printer we had was part of a package so I never really gave its price a second thought.
The good thing about it is that it doesn't take up much space at all, it is 5.1" high, 8.1" deep and 17.5" wide, although you have to make sure there is plenty of room for the paper to come out at other...
Advantages: Size, cheap Disadvantages: Paper intake, expensive cartridges, slow
...I bought this Dell printer several months ago when my old printer broke down. I have never really needed to print much (only the occasional essay or B-day card), so I decided to go for this cheap Dell 720 photo printer. I looked for the cheapest printer I could find and I believe this one cost between £30-35 on the Dell website. I have just checked on the website and I don?t think they even sell this version anymore. A newer version the ?Dell 725? has replaced the 720 and is now the cheapest model that Dell sells in the UK (at £35).
I ordered the printer on the website and everything from payment to delivery went very smooth (as you might expect from such a big company).
IN THE BOX:
The Dell photo printer 720
2 Inkcartridges: 1 Black Standard Capacity Cartridge and 1 Tri- color Standard Capacity Cartridge (Cyan...
