Advantages: Ok game, Richest Edition is brill Disadvantages: Tedious at times.
...After the disaster that was my purchase of Wii Music, I was very sceptical about finding a good game on the Wii. From the very first moment that I saw this game in GAME however, I knew I wanted it. In our family it has been a tradition to get the monopoly board out a few times a year, however it usually runs into the middle of the night with us all getting bored, or usually arguments occur due to doubt about the other players cheating.
Still, I love the game, and I had wanted to see the electronic version of it, so I took my Wii Music into GAME, got a stupid amount back for it considering they?re selling it pre-owned for £35 (I got £15, ridiculous). I managed in the end to buy the game pre-owned for £19, and so far, it seems to be a fantastic game.
What is Monopoly?
If you?ve never heard of monopoly before, get out your...

Review of Monopoly (Wii)
Advantages: Quick Gameplay, Two Very Different Versions Of The Game, Good Graphics Disadvantages: Not Very Many Mini Games
...This was a christmas present from myself to my wife, we finally got around to opening and playing it last night (15th February!!). We both enjoy the board game version of Monopoly, and we wanted some new games for the Wii, so this seemed like a great idea for a present, we both enjoyed playing it and so I decided to write a review on it.
The Game In General
I am not going to describe exactly how the game of Monopoly works, as most people reading this review will have played some version of it at some time in their life. Suffice it to say, you hve to move around the board, buy as much property as you can afford, and then collect rent from other players as they land on your properties. When you have bought a matching set of properties, you may then go on to build houses and then hotels on these properties, thus increasing the amount...

Review of Monopoly (Wii)
Advantages: Small game which can fit into your handbag Disadvantages: Small pieces a hazard to young children
...Monopoly - Travel Game
As I am recently travelling for Christmas I received Monopoly the travel game which has been very handy and gives us something to do in them boring days. I enjoy monopoly as it is constantly making you think ahead and you have to learn how to manage money. The game is all about buying, selling and renting properties and the only person to not go bankrupt wins.
**WHAT IS INCLUDED**
It has been cleverly designed with a fold out board which is plastic. You need to stick on a self-adhesive board onto the plastic base, making sure you line them up correctly and you are ready to play. Then all the pieces can be stored inside your box. Included is 6 plastic playing tokens (a hat, iron, dog, boat, car and boat), 6 plastic keys (which get you out of jail), monopoly money (in the form of 1, 5, 50, 100 and 500 pounds...

Review of Monopoly
Advantages: Great game, fun to play, enjoyable for all the family Disadvantages: I'm no good at it
...Monopoly or monotony
Monopoly must be one of the world?s best known board games. Based on buying property and letting it out for profit, the idea is to make the other players in the game bankrupt, thus ensuring you get the monopoly.
* - History
Back in 1934, at a time when the Great Depression was in full swing and many Americans were unemployed, Charles B. Darrow from Germantown, Pennsylvania, USA, showed executives at Parker Brothers a game that he had produced the previous year called Monopoly. The Parker Brothers Company wasn?t impressed and initially rejected the game due to over fifty design errors. Undaunted, and no doubt driven by unemployment and his own game?s promise of riches, Darrow produced the game on his own, gaining help from a friend who was a printer, and sold 5,000 handmade Monopoly sets to a Philadelphia...

Review of Monopoly
Advantages: Great fun Disadvantages: Takes a long time to finish
...Today, it's the best-selling board game in the world, licensed or sold in 80 countries and produced in 26 languages including Croatian.
But where did the Monopoly game come from? How did this phenomenal pastime get its start? Mr. Monopoly tells the legend best.
It was 1934, the height of the Depression, when Charles B. Darrow of Germantown, Pennsylvania, showed a game he called Monopoly to the executives at Parker Brothers. Can you believe it, they rejected the game due to "52 design errors"! But Mr. Darrow wasn't daunted. Like many other Americans, he was unemployed at the time, and the game's exciting promise of fame and fortune inspired him to produce it on his own.
With help from a friend who was a printer, Mr. Darrow sold 5,000 handmade sets of the game to a Philadelphia department store. People loved it! But as demand...

Review of Monopoly
Advantages: Good family game, Available in many editions Disadvantages: Can take a long time to complete
...Monopoly the property trading board game is one of the most popular selling board games around.
It was first made in 1933 by Charles B Darrow who took it to the Parker Brothers, who rejected it due to 57 design faults, but even so Mr Darrow continued and sold the game himself, it became very popular and he was unable to keep up with demand, so again went back to the Parker Brothers for help, on seeing the popularity of this game, they decided to help.
The first official game was published and sold in 1935 by the parker brothers and became one of Americas best ever top selling games.
Today Monopoly is sold in over 80 countries and produced in 26 languages. There is over 50 different designs in the game from a Disney addition to a Chocolate addition and the price range can be from around £13.99 for a regular game to £million...

Review of Monopoly
Advantages: Nicely geared in different ways. A simple and classic game. Disadvantages: Some variants seem a bit weird
...Monopoly is a game that has become pretty much an institution. It is played the world over, with different sets for different countries. In recent years though the number of sets has expanded, not because it's been released in more countries, but because Parker Brothers, Hasbro and Winning Moves have been releasing special editions like there's no tomorrow.
It's some of these special editions I want to tke a look at, but first a quick recap on Monopoly itself.
The aim of the game is simple, go round the board, collecting properties until you are able to establish yourself as the sole surviving monopoly. Each player starts with a set amount of money, they then roll dice, two at a time, and proceed around the board.
If, after their first lap, they land on a property space they may buy it. Buy three properties of a matching colour...

Review of Monopoly
Advantages: 7+ classic games in one place, good quality playing pieces Disadvantages: Monopoly cards and bank notes smaller than usual
...I received this compendium as a gift recently and it is one of the best board games I have ever had. As well as the classic board games Monopoly and Cluedo, there is also Chess, Draughts, Cribbage, Dominoes and Cards included in the box.
First of all, the box is beautiful. It is a large square wooden box (13kg in weight) with a drawer on one of the sides. This pulls out to reveal the playing parts for Cluedo, Chess and Dominoes. The top of the box is the Monopoly and Cluedo board, which can be flipped round depending on which one you're playing. This board lifts out to reveal trays for the playing pieces for Monopoly, Draughts, Cribbage and Cards. Under this is the Chess board which sits inside the box.
The playing pieces for Cluedo and Monopoly are very detailed. The Cluedo characters are small figurines rather than...
Advantages: excellent way of managing money Disadvantages: Can sometimes really drag on
...This game is always thoroughly enjoyed by everyone I know.
I remember playing it when I was younger, me and my friends would always fight over who was going to be the banker or who would play using the little dog counter.
Monopoly is a game for up to 6 players, you work your way around the board deciding whether you want to buy or possibly sell any properties.
A good idea is to start buying as soon as you can.
I always used to think I was smart by collecting all the money I can before I started buying, I thought that if I had loads of money I could buy all the best streets...BIG MISTAKE...all my competitors had bought like the whole board and they had houses and hotels. They were slowly eating away at my riches. So I would always be the first one to go bankrupt. But not anymore! Iv'e learnt my lesson.
The only bad thing about...

Review of Monopoly
Advantages: brilliant family game Disadvantages: never ending
...Now i think this game is a brilliant fun game. It can be played to bring family entertainment or even play with your friends. The old version monopoly with the notes is a fantastic idea as it not only gives children fun but it helps them realise how to manage their money better in a fun and exciting game and this is a skill that everyone needs later in life. This version of monopoly is great fun for birthdays and with alot of people.
Another version of monopoly is the travel one. This is a great idea as it is very compact and it allows you to take it anywhere. Although it is clever it is also very annoying as the board is very small and the pieces and the notes are very small and it is very hard to handle if you have big hands.
The other version of monopoly is the new one with the credit cards. This is again an up to date version...
