...on the album is 'Sou Seu Sabia' - a Caetano Veloso ballad that brings the album to a dreamy close. Although it won the 2001 Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Pop Album, 'Memories, Chronicles and Declarations of Love' is probably not Marisa Monte's strongest album. It doesn't quite reach the heights of the 'Rose & Charcoal (Verde Anil Amarelo Cor De Rosa E Carvão)' album released in 1994 and I certainly wouldn't go as far as some reviewers in describing this album as the "Pet Sounds" of Brazilian pop. Nevertheless, Marisa's suave expressive vocal combined with sumptuous accomplished musical arrangements and neat production by guitarist Arto Lindsay makes this an album very much worth listening to in any location. Advantages: Vegan. No Artificial colours, preservatives, flavours or sweeteners. Only 78 calories per lolly. 100% RDA for Vit 'C'.

The Monte Carlo - A Very Safe Bet for Fresh Fish

Advantages: Excellent selection of fresh fish. Great service.

Hotel Monte Verde

...In October 2006 I went on an all-inclusive holiday for one week to Porto Cristo on the east coast of Majorca (Mallorca). I stayed in a hotel called the Monte Verde. It cost me £169 and I will now share my experiences of this hotel with you. The Monte Verde Hotel was built in 1969 and was fully refurbished during the winter of 2000. The Monte Verde has a total of 140 rooms that are built over 7 floors. When I pulled up to The Monte Verde I was not very impressed with the look of the hotel, it looked like a block of flats and was similar to some of the housing around Porto Cristo, which looked a bit basic and old fashioned. However The Monte Verde is only a 2 star hotel so I was not expecting too much.
